Abstract

Telang flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) is a plant that has antibacterial properties. The chemical content contained in it which is antibacterial is flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins and terpenoids. Staphylococcus epdiermidis is one of the bacteria that causes various infections including mild skin infections accompanied by abscess formation. This study aims to test the activity of the telang flower by maceration using 70% ethanol as a solvent. For antibacterial testing with the disk diffusion method. Extracts are made in various concentrations of 10%, 15%, 20%. The positive control used was Chloramphenicol. The results of this study were the average inhibition zone of the telang flower extract against Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria was 2.31 mm at a concentration of 10%, 3.05 mm at a concentration of 15%, and 6.2 mm at a concentration of 20%. These results indicate that the telang flower extract has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria, although the inhibition produced is not strong. At a concentration of 20% telang flower extract had the greatest inhibition on the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria than the concentrations of 10% and 15%.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country where the majority of the population is seasonal, so the halalness of a product is very important. Supplements are one of the products that are widely circulated in Indonesia, so they must provide halal guarantees for these products as evidenced by the existence of a halal label. In its circulation, supplements are still found without a halal label, so an authentication is needed to prove the halalness of the product. This study was conducted to prove the halalness of supplement products without halal labels by taking five samples randomly from the Pharmacy Installation of Krakatau Medika Hospital which were analyzed by the Real Time PCR method. The DNA of the five supplement samples was isolated using a Commercial Kit and the isolated DNA was amplified by Real Time PCR for 30 cycles. Abstract

Hiperkolesteromia merupakan salah satu penyakit yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai komplikasi kesehatan manusia. Salah satu faktor pemicu terjadinya kadar kolesterol tinggi berupa rutinnya dalam mengkonsumsi protein hewani. Daging bebek adalah salah satu sumber protein hewani yang memiliki kadar kolesterol tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh daging bebek yang rendah kolesterol. Penelitian ini menggunakan bebek pedaging sebanyak 20 ekor dengan usia 3 bulan yang diberi perlakuan kombucha bunga telang dengan konsentrasi gula aren yang berbeda-beda sebagai substratnya dan telah difermentasi selama 14 hari suhu 260C. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan 4 perlakuan (selama 1 bulan atau 4 minggu) dan dilakukan sebanyak 5 kali pengulangan. Komposisi perlakuan sebagai berikut : P0 = kontrol, tanpa kandungan kombucha bunga telang dan konsentrasi gula aren, P1 = air minum + 20% gula aren kombucha bunga telang, P2 = air minum + 30% gula aren kombucha bunga telang, P3 = air minum + 40% gula aren kombucha bunga telang. Parameter yang diukur dalam penelitian ini diantaranya adalah kadar kolesterol, bobot tubuh, dan konsumsi air minum. Data yang dihasilkan dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kombucha bunga telang dengan substrat gula aren berpotensi dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol pada bebek pedaging secara nyata.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability of students in pharmacy biotechnology courses in terms of student self-regulated learning (high, medium, low). This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were all students of the Pharmacy Study Program as many as 30 people consisting of 18 men and 12 women. To obtain data in this study used research instruments consisting of two types, namely test and non-test. The test instrument is a pharmaceutical bitechnology ability test in the form of 10 description questions and a non-test instrument in the form of a self-regulated learning questionnaire. Analysis of pharmaceutical biotechnology capabilities. students were analyzed using a scoring technique and then converted into a value with a range between 0 to 100. The score was then classified into the criteria for minimum completeness. Data analysis of biotechnologist ability. KKM). The results showed that the understanding of pharmaceutical biotechnology was in the high category with an average value of 83.33%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri Staphylococcus hominis dari formulasi dan sediaan sabun mandi cair yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi 20%,30%, dan 40%.Penelitian’ ini ‘dilaksanakan pada bulan September-Desember-2022. Lokasi penelitian ini adalah dilaboratorium service Universitas Pakuan, Bogor, Provinsi Jawa, Barat, Indonesia. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratorium dengan membuat 3 formulasi dan sediaan sabun mandi yang meliputi basis sabun mandi sebagai kontrol negatif, basis sabun mandi yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi 20%, 30%, dan 40%, serta menyediakan sabun cuci tangan yang tersedia dipasaran sebagai kontrol positif. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan ANOVA satu jalur dan jika terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan dilanjut melalui analisis pos hoc.Hasil penelitian telah membuktikan bahwa sediaan sabun mandi yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang berkolerasi secara positif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus hominis pada konsentrasi 20%,30%, dan 40%. Hasil uji ANOVA satu jalur pada masing-masing nilai P>0,05 yang dapat dilanjutkan melalui analisis pos hoc menyatakan bahwa sediaan sabun mandi cair kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi 40% berbeda nyata dengan konsentrasi 20% dan 30% dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus hominis serta konsentrasi yang terbaik dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat yang dihasilkan sebesar 14,2 mm dan masuk dalam kategori kuat.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical biotechnology products in the form of hand washing soap with an active ingredient of telang flower kombucha fermented solution have the potential to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus capitis, Bacillus cereus, and Pantoea dispersa bacteria. The aim of this study was to formulate and prepare hand washing soap with an active ingredient in a solution of seagrass kombucha fermentation to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus capitis, Bacillus cereus, and Pantoea dispersa. This research is an experimental laboratory by making 4 hand washing soap preparations, which consist of a hand washing soap base without an active substance. Hand washing soap base added to a solution of fermented butterfly pea flower kombucha at a sugar concentration of 20%, 30%, and 40%. Disc diffusion is a method used to calculate the average diameter of the inhibition zone for the three tested bacterial growth. The research data obtained were analyzed through one way ANOVA and post hoc analysis. The results of the ANOVA test proved that the obtained p value <0.05, which means that there were significant differences in the three treatment groups in inhibiting the growth of the three test bacteria. The post hoc analysis results also proved that 40% concentration was the best concentration in inhibiting the growth of the three tested bacteria, namely 18.34 mm (S. capitis/strong), 16.39 mm (B. cereus/strong), and 13.33 mm (P. disperse/strong).

Abstract

Telang flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) is a plant that has long been used in medicine and has been shown to have antibacterial activity. This study aims to determine and test the antibacterial activity against S. epidermidis bacteria. This research method uses laboratory experiments conducted in vitro. The liquid body wash formulation of C. ternatea L. flower ethanol extract was made with various concentrations, namely 10%, 15% and 20%. The liquid body wash preparation was tested for its antibacterial activity against S. epidermidis bacteria using the disc diffusion method. The working procedure includes extraction, preparation of liquid body wash preparations, evaluation of preparations and testing of antibacterial activity of liquid body wash preparations of C. ternatea L flower ethanol extract. The results showed that C. ternatea L. flower ethanol extract had inhibitory zone activity against S. epidermidis bacteria. at each concentration, namely 10% of 3.33 mm, 15% of 3.8 mm and 20% of 6.13 mm. Meanwhile, the results of the evaluation of the preparations of all liquid body wash formulations of C. ternatea L. flower ethanol extract met the standards.

Abstract

Telang flower has the potential to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans, Malasezia furfur, Pitosporum ovale, and Aspergilus fumigatus through the kombucha fermentation biotechnology method. The purpose of this study was to determine the antifungal activity of telang flower kombucha at various concentrations of white sugar. The varying concentrations of granulated sugar used in this study were 20%, 30%, and 40% (w/v), each repeated 3 times. The positive control used was kombucha made from green tea. The negative control used was sterile distilled water. The well diffusion method is one of the methods used to test antifungal activity. The fementation of telang flower kombucha has overall antifungal activity. White sugar concentration of 40% kombucha telang flower was the best concentration in inhibiting the growth of fungi as a whole when compared to the concentration of white sugar kombucha telang flower of 20%, 30% and positive and negative controls.

Abstract

Kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi madu hutan baduy berkolerasi secara positif dalam menurunkan kolesterol pada ayam broier. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan daging ayam yang rendah kolesterol. Penelitian ini menggunakan ayam broiler sebanyak 20 ekor yang berusia 3 bulan serta diberi perlakuan larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang dengan konsentarsi madu hutan baduy meliputi 20%, 30%, dan 40% sebagai substratnya untuk difermentasi selama 14 hari pada suhu 260C. Metode penelitian ini adalah RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) pada 4 perlakuan dalam waktu 30 hari disertai pengulangan sebanyak 5 kali. Perlakuan pemberian terhadap hewan uji meliputi T0 yaitu kontrol berupa air putih/minum. T1 berupa larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrsi madu hutan baduy sebesar 20%. T2 berupa larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi madu hutan baduy sebesar 30%. T3 berupa larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi madu hutan baduy sebesar 40%. Parameter peneltian yang diuji meliputi kadar kolesterol, berat/bobot tubuh, dan konsumsi air minum. Hasil penelitian ini datanya dioleh melalui ANOVA dan dilakukan analisis lanjut berupa uji Duncan dengan taraf kepercayaan sebesar 95%. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi madu hutan baduy memiliki aktivitas farmakologi sebagai penurun kolesterol secara nyata sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi 40% pada madu hutan baduy fermentasi kombucha buna telan merupakan perlakuan yang terbaik dalam menurunkan kolesterol ayam broiler pada seluruh parameter uji.

Abstract

Telang flower kombucha is a probiotic that has the potential to be developed as a functional drink and even an active cosmetic ingredient in the form of hand soap as an effort to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 and its mutations. The purpose of this activity is to provide additional insight to students, especially in the pharmaceutical study program at the Faculty of Health Pharmacy, Mathla'ul Anwar University, Banten, in utilizing the fermented kombucha solution of telang flower as an active ingredient in environmentally friendly hand soap cosmetics. The results of the activity showed that the service participants had increased knowledge or insight about the importance of using conventional biotechnology products as a new breakthrough in the pharmaceutical field. This can be seen from the increase in the pre-test and post-test which have been conveyed a lot during material exposure during pharmaceutical biotechnology lectures and during training. Participants who have attended training on making probiotic handwashing soap from fermented kombucha flower telang solution are more enthusiastic and understand the importance of the benefits of fermenting kombucha flower telang not only in the functional food sector but also in the potential for environmentally friendly cosmetics.
