Abstract

Angiogenesis is the formation of blood vessels from preexisting vessels and it related to cancer growth. Cancer growth required new support for nutrients and oxygen, which is provided by new vessel resulted from angiogenesis. The release of tumor angiogenic factor (TAF), such as basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), is the key factor for new vessel formation and further cancer development. The compounds that are able to inhibit angiogenesis is a potential  therapeutic agent for cancer treatment. Some of well known antiangiogenic compounds are flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. It is already known that seed extract of jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) contain some amount of that compounds. This study used ex ovo culture of chicken chorioallantoic membrane (CAM), which has advantage compare to other method in term of easy visualization of blood vessel formation. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of jackfruit seed methanolic extract effective concentration on angiogenesis inhibition. The research methods were jackfruit seeds metanolic extraction, ex ovo culture, antiangiogenic assay, and macroscopic observation on CAM blood vessel formation. The results showed that jackfruit seeds could inhibit bFGF-induced angiogenesis in ex ovo CAM at concentration of 35 µg/mL with inhibition of 61,14±15,73% through macroscopic observation.

Abstract

White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is a group of microscopic fungi that are used as food.  P. ostreatus is cultivated in an artificial medium derived from sawdust and has been sterilized. However, the use of sawdust also has problems. Straw and husk of rice can be used as mushroom growing media because they contain organic ingredients such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. This study aimed to know the growth of white oyster mushroom (P. ostreatus) on straw and husk of rice as an artificial medium and to know the best composition of straw and husk of rice that can be got highly produced of white oyster mushroom (P. ostreatus). The methods of this research were experimental with ten treatments and included several stages including preparation of tools, materials and research sites, the stage of cultivation of P. ostreatus and data collection. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design consisting of 40 experimental units. The results obtained were the most optimal P. ostreatus mycelium growth in K1J2S1 treatment with a mean growth rate of 30,60 cm / 30 days, the highest wet weight was K3J1S0 which was 85,83 g while the highest dry weight was in K1J2S1 treatment that is equal to 8,71 g.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPengelolaan budidaya perikanan termasuk Ikan Mas (Cyprinus carpio L.)perlu memperhatikan efisiensi dan produktivitas usaha serta kualitas ikan. Hal ini harus diimbangi dengan upaya perbaikan dan peningkatan kualitas induk maupun benih ikan.Triploidisasi merupakan salah satu metode manipulasi kromosom untuk perbaikan dan peningkatan kualitas genetik ikan guna menghasilkan benih ikan yang unggul.Bahan kimia yang umum digunakan untuk teknik triploidisasi adalah kolkisin.Namun, senyawa kolkisin dalam bentuk sediaan murni memiliki nilai pasar yang tinggi dan permintaan yang konsisten di bidang kedokteran. Kembang Sungsang (Gloriosa superba L.) merupakan tanaman yang seluruh bagian tanamannya mengandung senyawa aktif kolkisin (0,1-1,8%), pada bagian umbinya sekitar0,3%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama perendaman ekstrak umbi Kembang Sungsang terhadap fertilitas, daya tetas telur, sintasan, dan pertumbuhan larva Ikan Mas dan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak umbi Kembang Sungsang dalam menginduksi Ikan Mas triploid.Penelitian dilakukan menggunakanmetode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan.Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah perlakuan telur tanpa perendaman dan perendaman telur pada ekstrak Kembang Sungsang konsentrasi 50% dengan lama perendaman 1 menit, 1,5 menit, 2 menit dan 2,5 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama perendaman yang berbeda ekstrak umbi Kembang Sungsangmempunyai pengaruh terhadap terhadap fertilitas,daya tetas telur,sintasan,dan pertumbuhan larva ikan Mas. Perendaman telur dengan ekstrak umbi Kembang Sungsang konsentrasi 50% selama 2,5 menitsangat efektif  dalam menginduksi Ikan Mastriploid.

Abstract

Ethnomatematics is mathematics that is contained in culture. The purpose of this research is to examine the material of the sadulur batik lebak banten motif through aspects of halal products. The research method used is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. The data collection techniques used are literature study, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity checks were carried out by extending observations, increasing persistence, using reference materials. The result of this research is that in the batik sadulur motif of lebak banten, there is a halal aspect of the material used in the form of batik cloth, the equipment used such as cloth, chanting and coloring.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the public relations campaign in disseminating halal food and beverages to elementary school students and the community carried out by LPPOM MUI Banten. This study discusses issues related to campaign planning, implementation and evaluation. This research is a qualitative research using case study method and constructivism paradigm. Collecting data in this study through observation, interviews and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the public relations campaign in disseminating halal food and beverages to elementary school students and the public by LPPOM MUI Banten is in accordance with the concept of the practical dimensions of the campaign. The planning stage uses analyzing problems, determining goals, determining goals, determining messages, determining time and determining costs. The implementation stage is by selecting the implementer, adjusting the delivery of the message and determining the media used. The evaluation process by looking at the reach of the target and changes in the attitude of the target.

Abstract

TRAINING ON MAKING KOMBUCHA IMMUNOMODULATORY DRINK TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMY OF THE COMMUNITY OF MAJAU AND KADUDAMPIT VILLAGES, SAKETI DISTRICT, PANDEGLANG REGENCY, BANTEN IN THE NEW NORMAL ERA. Immunomodulatory drink are in great demand and needed by people in the new normal era. One such drink is kombucha. Kombucha is a drink from bioprocess technology that is fermented using microbes, namely a combination of bacteria and yeast as the initial culture. Many activities that support the health aspects of the new normal have been carried out. However, health activities that support economic aspects have never been implemented during this new normal period, especially in Majau and Kadudampit Villages. The purpose of this activity was as a means of socialization and training for the manufacture of fermented kombucha drinks which can be used as an immune enhancer but also commercialized, especially to improve the economic sector of the community. The method used includes preparation of the training venue, filling in participant attendance and questionnaires, opening training events, implementing and training in making kombucha drinks with various stages, namely the stages of making kombucha, the kombucha fermentation process, the kombucha harvest process, and the dosage and how to consume kombucha. Based on the results of training activities both carried out in Majau and Kadudampit Villages showed that information on the use of kombucha in increasing immunity and the economy in the new normal era was largely unknown to the people in the two villages. This was because people were more familiar with other fermented products, namely yogurt and yakult.

Abstract

Batik is one of Indonesia's cultural heritage that has been recognized internationally. Currently, public demand for batik continues to increase, increasing the production of the batik industry in Banten and will be the impact of increasing batik liquid waste. The results of batik production waste are usually directly disposed of through public water channels without being treated first. This condition can cause environmental pollution that will disrupt the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of phytoremediation of batik industrial wastewater on the lethality and structure of Cyprinus Carpio L. scales. This study used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 repetitions. The treatment used was the maintenance of Cyprinus Carpio L. in the wastewater from the phytoremediation batik industry with concentrations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, and 40%. The results showed that phytoremediation using water hyacinth plants reduced the BOD and COD content of batik waste. Phytoremediation of batik waste affects the lethality of Cyprinus Carpio L. and the structure of the scales. At concentrations of 20% and 40%, the highest average percentage of lethality is 60% death. Fish mortality is characterized by changes in behavior such as movement activity, body balance, and color morphology. The concentration of the batik industry wastewater also affects the amount of lethality and the sublethal effect of Cyprinus Carpio L. The attachment of the waste indicates the sublethal effect to the scales, the highest concentration of which is 20% and 40%, respectively.

Abstract

Daun semangka (C. lanatus) mengandung flavonoid, fenolik, tanin, triterpen, sterol dan alkaloid serta memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 37,12 µg/mL. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun semangka (C. lanatus) dan formulasi sediaan hand body lotion ekstrak etanol daun semangka. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah eksperimental laboratorium secara in vitro. Prosedur penelitian yaitu determinasi, pembuatan ekstrak daun semangka, skrining fitokimia, pembuatan hand body lotion ekstrak daun semangka konsentrasi 3, 5 dan 7%, evaluasi sediaan dan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun semangka (C. lanatus) memiliki efek antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 56,44 ppm (kategori antioksidan kuat). Ekstrak etanol daun semangka (C.  lanatus) dapat diformulasi menjadi sediaan hand body lotion yang memenuhi persyaratan organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, daya sebar, daya lekat dengan tipe emulsi M/A. Lotion ekstrak etanol daun semangka (C. lanatus) di semua konsentrasi yang diujikan (3, 5, 7%) tidak memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 berturut-turut sebesar 3981,48, 842,19 dan  926,71 ppm
