Abstract

The risk of dengue haemorrhagic fever transmission is influenced by several factors, including water storage facilities (TPA) and 3M behaviour. The city of Padang has the highest CFR for dengue haemorrhagic fever cases, at 0.76%. Vector control efforts are needed, including monitoring larvae in water storage facilities and implementing 3M, so that the chain of dengue haemorrhagic fever vector transmission can be broken. The purpose of this study is to determine the significance of the relationship between the number of WSS and 3M behaviour with larval density in Air Tawar Timur Village, Padang Utara District, Padang City, in 2025 so that it can become a. This study used an observational method with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted from January to June 2025 with a sample size of 86 houses. Data collection was conducted through observation using a mosquito larva density observation sheet with the visual larva method and interviews using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis with Pearson's correlation test. From the 86 respondent households, there were 4.3 TPA and a standard deviation of 3.4 TPA. The 3M behaviour had an average of 36.5 and a standard deviation of 15.7, while the average larval density was 1.6 TPA with a standard deviation of 2.3 TPA. There is a relationship between the number of TPA and Larva Density in Air Tawar Timur Village, Padang City with p = 0.005. There is a relationship between 3M and Larva Density in Air Tawar Timur Village, Padang City with p = 0.015. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the number of landfills and 3M behaviour and larval density.

Abstract

The main problem of workers' health is respiratory disorders, which is certainly related to the air quality in wooden furniture. The wood processing industry is a very rapidly growing industry and is widely absorbed by the polywood, sawmill, and furniture industries. As well as potentially causing air pollution in the workplace in the form of wood dust. Because about 10 to 13% of sawn wood will be sawdust. Occupational respiratory diseases, according to the results of The Surveillance of Work Associated and Occupational Respiratory Disease (SWORD) research conducted in the UK, found 3300 new cases of occupational lung disease. The purpose of this study is to determine the usefulness of products and the effectiveness of innovative D-Kay Cleaner products in the wood furniture industry, so that they can be utilized by the wider community. D-Kay Cleaner will be an easy and acceptable medium for the public in carrying out respiratory prevention. In the D-Kay Cleaner testing process, tool manufacturing was carried out starting from oil bottle experiments, welding boxes, and used. box. The innovation of the D-Kay Cleaner tool uses the principle of a vacuum cleaner. But the difference is that the tools and materials for making it are more economical, and use a layer of mask as a filter. Therefore, it is necessary to develop d-kay cleaners on the scale of wood furniture workers to reduce the amount of wood dust produced, and can reduce the negative impact of respiratory disorders.

Abstract

The density of Aedes aegypti larvae is one of the risk factors for the transmission of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). This type of research is descriptive with a spatial approach from March to May 2022. The population in this study is 3 sub-districts with the highest population density in the Padang Pasir Public Health Center, West Padang District as many as 3,212 houses with a total of 97 houses. The results showed that ABJ in the Kelurahan in the Padang Pasir Public Health Center working area was 78.3%. Mosquito Breeding Place with a Container Index value of 17.6. The implementation of 3M activities is 78.3%. Larva density susceptibility indicates that Purus Village is an area with a density of mosquito larvae, Rimbo Kaluang Village is in the medium vulnerability category and Flamboyan Village has low vulnerability. It is hoped that the community will carry out vector control by implementing the Eradication of Mosquito Nests (PSN), the puskesmas can use GIS technology as a medium of information and developments in the transmission of DHF and cooperate with the Health Office to jointly play an active role in suppressing cases of Dengue Fever in the community.

Abstract

Scavengers have the potential to be exposed to gases from the waste decomposition process at the final disposal area due to the activities of scavengers in the final disposal environment. Exposure to these gases can cause health problems for scavengers, one of which is due to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas. The purpose of the study was to determine the exposure of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas to scavengers at the Air Dingin final disposal area of Padang in 2022. The research method used Environmental Health Risk Analysis. The results of the three points measured were above the odor level limit value (0.02 ppm or 0.0278 mg/m3). The average realtime intake value is 1.55 x 10-3 mg/kg/day and the lifetime intake is 3.11 x 10-3 mg/kg/day. Realtime and lifetime RQ values, obtained RQ>1. This means that exposure to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) is not safe for scavengers. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out risk control efforts. For scavengers to use PPE, especially masks, and increase body resistance. For the Department of Environment of Padang, recommended to be able to monitor air quality related to polluting gases in the air around the final disposal area on a regular basis.

Abstract

Environmental risks have an influence on the incidence of stunting in toddlers caused by chronic malnutrition and repeated infections, especially in the First 1000 Days of Life (1000 HPK). One of the highest stunting contributing areas in Solok Regency is Payung Sekaki District in the Sirukam Health Center working area, there are 112 cases of stunting toddlers spread across 3 villages, namely Nagari Sirukam, Nagari Supayang and Nagari Aie Luo. The purpose of this study was to determine the spatial distribution of environmental risk factors in stunting toddlers in Payung Sekaki District, Solok Regency in 2023. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis method. The number of samples was 73 houses. Data analysis was carried out univariately and spatially using Microsoft Excel software and overlay on QGIS. This research produces information in the form of spatial distribution maps with low, medium and high classifications. With this research, it is known that Jorong Gantiang is the jorong with the highest incidence of stunting with 14 cases, Jorong Lubuak Pulai with 12 cases, and 3 jorong with moderate cases and 6 other jorong with low stunting cases. The high incidence of stunting in Payung Sekaki Sub-district is influenced by several environmental risk factors, namely the physical condition of the house, the provision of clean water, the management of waste water and feces, and having a history of recurrent infectious diseases such as diarrhea and ARI.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus transmitted through the bite of the Aedes sp mosquito. This disease is endemic in Padang City, where 11 sub-districts have been recorded as being infected with dengue fever, the 3 sub-districts with the highest number of dengue cases, one of which is Kuranji sub-district with the highest number of cases. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between controlling mosquito nests and the density of Aedes sp larvae. in Kalumbuk Village, Kuranji District, Padang City. This research design is analytical observation with a cross sectional approach. The research was carried out in September - December 2023. The population of this study was 460 families. Using a proportional random sampling technique using the Slovin formula, a sample of 82 families was obtained, and the data analysis used was the chi-square test statistic. The results of the research show that the implementation of controlling mosquito nests in Kalumbuk Village, Kuranji District is classified as poor (46.3%), larval density does not meet the quality standards, namely 91.5% (<95%), there is a relationship between controlling mosquito nests and Aedes larvae density. sp. with a p-value of 0.003. Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between controlling mosquito nests and the density of Aedes sp larvae. in Kalumbuk Village, Kuranji District, Padang City. It is recommended that the Community Health Center conduct outreach and activate 1 house 1 jumantik and the community can control mosquito nests with the 3M Plus program periodically once a week so that it can break the chain of transmission of dengue fever.
