Abstract

Artikel ini membahas model pembelajaran Brain Based Learning secara konseptual dan contoh implementasinya dalam pratik pembelajaran bahasa Jerman di SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kepustakaan yang mempelajari dan mengumpulkan data dari referensi yang relevan dengan topik pembahasan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Brain Based Learning dapat menjadi solusi untuk mengatasi problematika dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jerman. Konsep dasar dari model pembelajaran Brain Based Learning adalah pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menyelaraskan sistem kerja otak yang didesain secara alamiah untuk belajar. Melalui penerapan model pembelajaran ini, guru dapat mengasah seluruh potensi yang dimiliki siswa sehingga pembelajaran berlangsung secara optimal.  Pelaksanaan penerapan model pembelajaran Brain Based Learning terdiri atas 7 tahap, yaitu (1) tahap pra-pemaparan, (2) tahap persiapan, (3) tahap inisiasi dan akuisisi, (4) tahap elaborasi, (5) tahap inkubasi dan internalisasi, (6) tahap verifikasi dan konfirmasi, serta (7) tahap selebrasi dan integrasi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the desires of the main character ‘der Mann’ in the short story by Peter Bichsel using Deleuze and Guattari’s Schizoanalysis theory. This was a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. The research data were comprised of words, phrases, and sentences. The collected data were subsequently categorized into types of desires. Data were analyzed using reading and recording techniques and described based on the proportion of desires. The results of the analysis showed that the main character receives constant pressures from society, leading to the emergence of paranoid desire, a desire that is formed due to the pressure of particular systems or social codes outside of the main character. This desire is schizophrenic at the individual level. In the short story, this desire is manifested through the creation of a new language by ‘der Mann’. In the end, the main character ‘der Mann’ can use new vocabulary at the levels of phrases and sentences, but unable to influence other language users. As a result, his newly self-created language is unacceptable in society. However, the schizophrenic desire at the individual level has the potential to destruct social formation

Abstract

This study aims to describe the satisfaction of host companies to internship students toward their competencies and performance and suggest improvements to the internship program. The research subjects were students who were undertaking internships in 64 institutions in Malang areas, both in the business and industrial world. Research data are obtained from questionnaires. The results showed that the qualifications of the internship students were in the range of good to very good. These findings are following the expectations of host companies, which also recognize that the competencies of internship students are in line with their expectations and needs. However, some students worked less efficiently, so host companies are not really satisfied. According to the host companies, three things need to be improved: (1) the duration of the internship, (2) monitoring, and (3) student readiness. Regarding the length of the internship, host companies suggest that the internship program's duration occupies at least three months. Host companies hope that the supervisors monitor all students who are apprenticed. Besides, the internship students should prepare in advance by giving them special provisions about the company's product knowledge and related hard skills and soft skills needed in the future jobs. These findings suggest the universities, faculties, students, host companies to develop both of the experiences and satisfaction as possible.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTulisan ini adalah hasil kajian kepustakaan yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengkonseptualisasikan teknik penilaian diri dalam keterampilan berbicara bahasa Jerman yang relevan dengan keterampilan yang harus dikuasai dalam menghadapi tantangan pendidikan abad XXI. Untuk merumuskan hasil kajian kepustakaan, lebih dari tiga artikel yang relevan dipelajari, direview, dibandingkan, dan disajikan oleh penulis untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian ini. Hasil kajian kepustakaan menunjukkan bahwa teknik penilaian diri adalah sebuah teknik penilaian yang efektif dan cocok untuk digunakan dalam perkembangan pendidikan abad XXI, karena  teknik penilaian tersebut mampu mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Selain itu, teknik penilaian diri juga dapat mengidentifikan kekuatan dan kelemahan mahasiswa, sehingga mahasiswa dapat berinstrospeksi diri. Dengan demikian, mahasiswa dapat lebih menyadari kelebihan yang ada dalam dirinya serta mampu memperbaiki kelemahan yang dimilikinya secara kritis.Kata kunci: Penilaian diri, pendidikan abad 21, keterampilan berbicara bahasa Jerman ABSTRACT This writing based on the result of literature review that aimed to figure out and conceptualize self-assessment technique in German speaking skill that is relevant with skills which have to be mastered in facing the challenge of education in 21st century. To formulate the results of the literature review, more than three relevant articles were studied, reviewed, compared, and presented by the author in order to obtain the aim of this research. The result of the literature review shows that self-assessment is  effective and suitable  to be used in  in 21st century learning, because it is can improve  student’s critical thinking. Furthermore, self-assessment technique also the students can identify their strength and weakness, so that students can introspect themselves. Therefore, students can be more aware of their own strengths and be able to critically improve their weaknesses.Keywords: Self-assessment, education in 21st century, German speaking skill

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan metode penerjemahan yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa Jurusan Sastra Jerman Universitas Negeri Malang dalam menerjemahkan cerpen “Das Brot”. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian berupa cerpen “Das Brot” dan hasil terjemahannya, sedangkan data yang digunakan berupa kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat dalam Bsu maupun Bsa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) mahasiswa menggunakan metode penerjemahan harfiah, metode penerjemahan setia, metode penerjemahan semantis, metode penerjemahan bebas, dan metode penerjemahan komunikatif untuk menerjemahkan cerpen “Das Brot”; (2) metode yang paling dominan digunakan adalah metode penerjemahan setia; (3) terjemahan yang dihasilkan dari segi bentuk terasa begitu kaku dan Bsa yang dihasilkan mahasiswa masih belum memadai.

Abstract

Linguistik London atau linguistik aliran Firthian merupakan salah satu aliran linguistik yang cukup berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan linguistik secara umum. Aliran linguistik London pada awalnya menitik beratkan bidang fonetik dan fonologi. Dalam perkembangannya, konteks situasi, fonologi prosodi, dan kolokasi juga menjadi kajiannya. Pengaruh aliran Firthian terhadap Germanistik tampak pada tataran morfologi dan fonologi prosodi. Pada mulanya, pembahasan morfologi dalam Germanistik pada zaman itu dititikberatkan pada korespondensi sistematis antara bentuk dan makna, tetapi kemudian seiring perkembangan linguistik juga dibahas secara fonologis dan secara khusus pada aspek prosodi. Kiranya, dapat dicermati juga pengaruh-pengaruh lainnya untuk melengkapi informasi sebelumnya oleh para Germanisten atau pemerhati Germanistik.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the errors made by students when translating the informative text using Google Translate and to describe the role of Google Translate in the translation’s process. In this study, the two data were (1) the words and phrases containing equivalence errors in the translation results by the students and (2) the students’ statements showing the role of Google Translator in the translation’s process. The results showed that the students made two errors in translating the informative text, namely (1) misinterpretation and (2) non-equivalent context. Regarding the role of Google Translate, the student considered it as a helpful tool in the translation process. They stated that Google Translate helps in providing an overview of the source text and can reduce the translation time. The result showed that Google Translate can give an overview of the meanings of the source language but doesn’t shorten the translation time.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to describe the translation method that used by students of the German Literature Department, State University of Malang in translating the song "Wie Schön Du Bist". The method is qualitative. Sources of the data in this study are 16 students of the German Literature Department who are currently taking Translation Theory course. The data in this study are words, phrases, clauses, and sentences both SL and TL. The results of this study indicate that students use five translation methods in translating the song "Wie Schön Du Bist", namely the literal translation method, the faithful translation method, the semantic translation method, the free translation method, and the communicative translation method. The literal translation method is the most dominant translation method that used by the students in translating this song. Students look for the closest equivalent grammar structure in TL, but cannot re-express the meaning of SL in TL. What is transferred to TL is the form of SL, not the meaning contained in SL. Keywords : translation method, translate, song “Wie Schön Du Bist”

Abstract

Penerjemahan karya sastra merupakan penerjemahan yang kompleks karena melibatkan nilai estetika pada karya sastra, gaya bahasa pengarang, dan unsur budaya. Untuk mengatasi kesulitan-kesulitan dalam penerjemahan karya sastra, penerjemah dapat menerapkan model penerjemahan kolaboratif dengan melibatkan pihak lain, seperti penerjemah lain, pakar di bidang sastra, dan penulis asli dari karya sastra tersebut. Model penerjemahan ini pernah diterapkan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa di kelas penerjemahan Jurusan Sastra Jerman Universitas Negeri Malang yang saling berkolaborasi untuk menerjemahkan cerpen Vertrauen sebagai bahan latihan penerjemahan karya sastra. Cerpen tersebut memiliki beberapa kalimat sulit yang perlu didiskusikan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa agar hasil terjemahan bisa lebih baik dan berterima. Untuk menunjang proses diskusi, dosen dan mahasiswa memanfaatkan media online, yaitu aplikasi Discord.

Abstract

This article  reports  on   a research    aimed  at improving  the students’ grammatical-lexical competence using learning  model circuit training. The subjects were the students  of the German Department who took part in the lecture Struktur und Wortschatz 1 Off  AA in 2009.  The results show that  the process consists of four main phases: motivation, going around, training,   and presenting; and  the ac- tions had  the effects: all students were totally active and75 % of  the students  could present  the learning  materials  correctly,  the average  point at the end of the second cycle (70,58) can be regarded as successful
