Abstract

The actualization of learning materials needs to be done to create a learning situation that is under the times. In learning German as a foreign language, the concept of DACHL has not been well recognized by every German teacher at the SMA / MA / SMK level. For this reason, adjustments to learning materials, techniques, and learning strategies are considered important so that the German learning process does not only train language skills but also fosters a cross-cultural understanding of these countries and the Indonesian nation itself. This article attempts to describe the results of training activities for the preparation of cross-cultural learning designs for German language teachers at the SMA / MA / SMK levels throughout Malang and its surroundings. This training implementation method which is accommodated in community service activities is designed by adopting an education and training system for ASN, namely on campus and off-campus. Despite undergoing method modifications as a result of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, training is going well. With simultaneous mentoring, collaboration, and collaboration between various parties, participants can receive the material well and simultaneously apply it in the form of a learning design.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the desires of the main character ‘der Mann’ in the short story by Peter Bichsel using Deleuze and Guattari’s Schizoanalysis theory. This was a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. The research data were comprised of words, phrases, and sentences. The collected data were subsequently categorized into types of desires. Data were analyzed using reading and recording techniques and described based on the proportion of desires. The results of the analysis showed that the main character receives constant pressures from society, leading to the emergence of paranoid desire, a desire that is formed due to the pressure of particular systems or social codes outside of the main character. This desire is schizophrenic at the individual level. In the short story, this desire is manifested through the creation of a new language by ‘der Mann’. In the end, the main character ‘der Mann’ can use new vocabulary at the levels of phrases and sentences, but unable to influence other language users. As a result, his newly self-created language is unacceptable in society. However, the schizophrenic desire at the individual level has the potential to destruct social formation

Abstract

The research and development aim to produce teaching material in the form of a comic entitled “Märchen: Die Abenteuer von zwei Geschwister“ to help students understand German literature. The development used in this research was the ADDIE model. Product has been validated by a media expert and a material expert and tested on 67 students taking the Deutsche Literature course. The research and development data were obtained from the questionnaires and observations as a research instrument and analyzed using the descriptive qualitative technique. This research showed that comic teaching material could motivated students to learning German literature and helped students to understand German literature, especially fairytales.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop learning media in the form of pop-up books to understand narrative text with the title Dunkelrestaurant in the book Netzwerk A2. This research and development uses the ADDIE model with 5 development stages, namely (1) needs analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The types of data in this study are quantitative and qualitative. The data were obtained from media experts, material experts, observers, and trial subjects. To collect data used instruments in the form of questionnaires and observation sheets. From the results of product validation by media experts, the product feasibility percentage is 90.9 percent, while from the material expert validation results, the product eligibility percentage is 88.8 percent. The product eligibility percentage obtained is included in the valid category, so the product is suitable for use in Deutsch II lectures at the Department of German Literature, State University of Malang. Meanwhile, the results of filling out questionnaires by students and observation sheets during the trial activity showed that the product was very interesting and helped students in understanding the text.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe (1) the use of e-learning UM Student in State Univesitu of Malang as a learning media, (2) provision of material by lecturers in the classroom, and (3) the problems in the use of e-learning., Evaluative quantitative research approach used in this study. The quantitative research methods focuses on more things that can be measured by numbers or quantifiable. The evaluative research focused on the final recommendations of evaluation. It confirms that an object can be maintained, upgraded, improved, or even dismissed with the data. The population in this study is a student of German Literature, Faculty of Letters State University of Malang (UM) and restricted to students in class of 2013, 2014 and 2015. The research instrument used in this study using a questionnaire. The results showed that (1) the use of e-learning has been empowered with quite well by the students of German Literature, Faculty of Letters State University of Malang (UM), although the frequency of media use is still not maximized. The intensity of the use of e-learning is still low (the answer "seldom" by students) is due to lack of motivated students in utilizing of e-learning media. The use of e-learning UM obtained only teaching materials. The use of e-learning was less in terms of frequency of use, either to find information and get a learning material. (2) Providing material by the lecturers  are already quite varied. It can be seen by (a) the provision of handouts / modules / video learning through e-learning media, (b)  more (often) assignment / exercise, (c) the majority of references is available, and (d) always opens the opportunity to ask questions and discuss. (3) The problems caused by (a) the display is too formal; (B) the use of navigation is not clear; (C) maintenance disorder that happens sometimes; and (d) ignorance of the students on the use of certain features.Keywords: E-learning in State University of Malang (UM) , learning resources, student

Abstract

The purpose behind this research is to find out e-learning using the application google classroom for German class X Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Jembrana. Researchers used quantitative research methods using statistical techniques and questionnaire data collection with a sample of 26 students. The data of this study were analyzed using SPSS version 23 which is an indicator of the effectiveness of the use of the application google classroom (Variable X) at point number 8 which is 77.33 percent and the indicator of student response in the ease of accessing the application google classroom at points number 1 and 2 is 77.40 percent. As for the indicators of understanding of learning outcomes in items 9 and 11 of 60.80 percent and indicators of application of items 12 and 13 of 66.76 percent. The final result of this study shows the use of e-learning with google classroom for German in class X MAN 1 Jembrana, the value of the T-test is obtained P value  (0.000 less than 0.05), then e-learning with google classroom is applied to German class X leads to improvement in grades.Keywords: e-learning with google classroom, learning outcomes, German

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation the Wordwall application on the mastery German vocabulary for the 11th graders of  SMAN 7 Malang. The approach used in this research is quantitative with quasi-experimental method andresearch design pretest and posttest control group. method Purposive sampling used in sampling is a class XI student Interests German Cross, XI IPS 2 as the control class (using PowerPoint) and XI Languages 1 as an experimental class (using the application Wordwall).The test method was used as a data collection technique. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed by prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing. Test the hypothesis using the T test. The results of the analysis show that the probability value (p) less than tcount  = 2.001717 less than 4.247526, which means H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the implementation the Wordwall application on the mastery German vocabulary for the 11th graders of  SMAN 7 Malang.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPembelajaran budaya dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing khususnya bahasa Jerman tidak mungkin dielakkan, salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran budaya adalah interkultural, yang terfokus pada keberhasilan dalam berkomunikasi dibarengi dengan pemahaman fenomena budaya sehari-hari Jerman dan budaya Indonesia. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah agar guru bahasa Jerman di SMA tidak hanya mengajarkan budaya dengan menghafal tentang fakta dan data  tentang negara Jerman akan tetapi  juga dapat mengajarkan muatan budaya interkultural melalui media digital. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah para ketua dan sekretaris MGMP Bahasa Jerman di Jawa Timur. Metode pelaksanaan dirancang dengan empat pokok kegiatan yaitu penyamaan konsep, pemilihan materi, penyusunan media dan presentasi dan evaluasi kegiatan. Pelatihan dilakukan secara daring dan luring selama bulan Juni – Oktober 2021 dan hasil dari pelatihan ini adalah lima produk video pembelajaran untuk kelas X- XII dengan menggunakan aplikasi PPT, Canva, Tiktok, Quizziz, dan Quizwhizzer. Akan tetapi hasil penelitian ini masih perlu diperkenalkan dan diujicobakan luas penerapannya di kelas sehingga ada masukan yang berarti untuk perbaikan hasil produk ini. Kata kunci: pembelajaran bahasa asing; budaya; interkultural; digital ABSTRACTCultural learning in foreign language learning especially German is inevitable, one approach to cultural learning is intercultural, whose focus is on success in communicating coupled with an understanding of the daily cultural phenomena of Germany and Indonesian culture.The aim of this activities is the german teacher at high school able to teach culture with intercultural approach with a digital apps. The targets of this activity are the chairmen and secretaries of MGMP German in East Java. The implementation method is planned with four main activities, namely the equalization of concepts, the selection of materials, the preparation of media and presentation and evaluation of activities. The training is conducted online and offline during June – October 2021 and the result of this training is five learning video products for class X-XII using PPT, Canva, Tiktok, Quizziz, and Quizwhizzer applications. However, the results of this devotion still need to be introduced and piloted widely in the classroom so that there is meaningful input for the improvement of the results of this product. Keywords: foreign language learning; cultur; intercultural; digital

Abstract

This R&D aims to develop the Onet Familie media game with the theme Familie to train the mastery of German vocabulary for 11th Grade Students at SMA Negeri 1 Tumpang. Onet Familie contains practice questions about vocabulary articles and pictures about family. The model used in this development is a four-D model that has been modified in three stages, namely: (1) Define (definition), (2) Design (planning), and (3) Develop (development). Results of the product validation and testing analyzed descriptively quantitatively with the following results: (a) The validity of the material according to the material expert is 63 percent, (b) The validity of the media according to the media expert is 90.7 percent, and the response of students as test respondents is 81.7 percent. On average, students can complete the practice questions in the Onet Family game media at level 1, 2 and 3 well. Based on the product validity criteria used in this development, the Onet Familie game media is included in the very feasible category, so it can be used as an alternative in learning German vocabulary in class XI SMA.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problems of online learning in the Deutsch III course based on internal factors and external factors for students of the German Language Education Study Program from the State University of Malang, Class of 2020/2021. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with questionnaires and interviews. This research procedure is making an approach instrument, collecting data, analyzing data, triangulating the data that has been collected, and then drawing conclusions. The research results are in the form of a description of the problematic internal factors of students, including a) learning motivation, and b) understanding of the Deutsch III material. Next is a description of the problematic external factors of students, which consist of a) the learning process and b) supporting facilities. Based on the description of the problems of online learning above, both from internal factors and external factors for students, it can be concluded that there are not only negative impacts but also positive impacts accompanying online learning problems in Deutsch III courses.
