Abstract

This research was intended to investigate pre-service English teacher's perception of Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) during virtual teaching internships. The problem comes from changing the learning system from offline to online due to pandemic covid 19. Automatically, it influences the implementation of teaching internships. As a result, preschool teachers who carry out the task must adjust the situation. This research is classified into qualitative research. The research participant was five English pre-service teachers who took teaching internship in several schools. The data was obtained by distributing questionnaires, conducting interviews, and analyzing reflective journals. The result shows that EFL pre-service teachers had positive perceptions of the use of MALL in teaching English. Pre-service English teachers understand and are aware of MALL during virtual teaching internships. While the obstacles faced by the Pre-service teacher came from the unstable connection internet access, operating new features, and controlling the students. In conclusion, English pre-service teachers have a positive perception of dealing with MALL application in virtual teaching internships.

Abstract

This research aims to know the students' perception of using zoom application in a debate course during crisis remote teaching. The government of Indonesia gave an order to the Higher Education Commission, asked them to start preparing for crisis remote teaching via online learning modes, rescheduled all of the exams given, and helped the students online learning until the COVID-19 crisis remained unchanged. Online learning is the leading choice for instruction within the middle of the Covid-19 flare-up. In Indonesia, not all students are commonplace with the online learning framework, so this has become a new thing that requires adjustment. The research design used is mix method in this research. There are 26 university students who participate in this research. This research was presented quantitatively and descriptively to reveal the students' perceptions and difficulties comprehensively. The research finds ZOOM Application gets a positive perception because it is effective and comfortable. However, the problems that the students face are the device to do online learning and internet connection. It is suggested that zoom app is still appropriate to be used in debate course class due to many advantages than the problems that emerge during crisis remote teaching.

Abstract

A pre-service English teacher's self-efficacy is under explore in Kampus Mengajar Program. Self-efficacy refers to people's perceptions of their ability to perform at specified levels and influence aspects of their lives. This study employs qualitative research. In this study, researchers collected data through questionnaires and interviews. The study reveals that pre-service English teachers at Kampus Mengajar have high self-efficacy.  The research expanded to investigate how strong self- efficacy and the factors regarding this phenomenon. The three components identified are personal factors, behavioral factors, and environmental factors that carry out all of their success in the Kampus Mengajar program optimally. This study gives benefits for Preservice English teachers in understanding the self-efficacy to carry out Kampus Mengajar Program were explored. Suggestions for further research are to use mixed methods and add male participants to direct new research trends in gender and self-efficacy.

Abstract

Environmental issues have emerged widely recognized as global issues in the world. Consequently, they have attracted significant attentions from various academic disciplines, all dedicated preventing further harm to the environment. Upon reflection, it becomes evident that these issues are intrinsically linked to the behavior, awareness, and actions of all communities. Therefore, English Language Teaching (ELT) has a unique opportunity to contribute by providing information and fostering eco-green awareness among learners. To achieve this, a comprehensive research project was undertaken at a university in Bojonegoro to investigate and examine the EFL learners’ perception on implementation of e-reading module based eco-ELT and how EFL learners perceive eco-ELT. This research used mixed method which present and analyze both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The research involved 45 EFL learners, and data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire encompassed various indicators related to the clarity and sustainability of the reading material, presenting reading materials based Eco-ELT themes, and ease of access. The data was analyzed by using data verification, scoring and calculating the percentage of each item and interpret the script of interview. The finding reveals that the majority of the EFL learners have positive perception and acceptance on the use of e-reading module based on eco-ELT in EFL class. The average score was about 50% EFL learners shows their positive perception on the implementation of e-reading module based eco-ELT. While, EFL learners view eco-ELT offers new insights in acquiring information about environment and comprehend reading material while doing the reading exercise. EFL learners imply eco-ELT can encourage them to practice green and sustainable lifestyle to save the earth. Dealing with the findings, eco-ELT can be taken into account as a new innovative approach to develop teaching and learning materials. Consequently, the learners not only acquire the knowledge but also enhance and encourage their characters to love nature.

Abstract

Writing English is a problem for final semester EFL students to complete their thesis. So AI technology becomes a tool that can improve their writing. Researchers conducted this research on three students of English language education at Nahdlatul Ulama Sunan Giri University to find out what AI tools most often use and their perspectives about AI in the content and organization of writing. This research used a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews. Researchers collected data for this research by conducting pre-observations regarding EFL students who got high writing scores in the previous semester. The first result of this research is the AI tool they used most often was Grammarly, followed by other AI QuillBot, Perplexity AI, DeepL Translator, and Chat GPT. The second result is the respondents gave the positive perspective: AI tools can support, improve and simplify their writing in preparing their theses, and the negative perspective: AI tools must use stable internet data access, usage restrictions and even some AI tools are only intended for premium users. This research can help teachers in the teaching process and development in writing with the help of AI tools. Recommendation for further researchers are to develop this research by using comparison classes and expanding the scope of research and future researchers can develop it by using more research instruments to further strengthen the results.

Abstract

Environmental problems are still a big and complicated problem. All groups including educators, communities, and institutions as well as the government actively participate in efforts to maintain and overcome these problems. The purpose of this community service activity is to conduct socialization slot thailand and education to cadres and PKK members of Kedungadem sub-district and provide Eco brick training in an effort to utilize plastic waste and increase community eco green awareness in processing plastic waste. This activity was carried out by applying socialization, training and evaluation methods. Based on the results of this activity, the socialization activities went well and PKK members also received education about climate literacy. Then proceed with ecobrik training to utilize plastic waste and plastic bottles into useful products such as flower pots, small chairs and others. After the training, we continued with an evaluation by conducting interviews and filling out an activity evaluation questionnaire. Based on these results, the socialization and ecobrick training activities went smoothly and this had an impact on increasing the understanding of PKK cadres regarding the ability and skills in utilizing plastik bottles and household plastic waste..

Abstract

Applying critical thinking is the ability to actively analyze, assess and understand information in depth before making a decision or concluding something. Researchers conducted this research on two English language education students at Nahdlatul Ulama Sunan Giri University to find out what obstacles and efforts were applied when teaching in the classroom. This research uses a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews. Based on the research results, there are eight obstacles faced by teachers, namely: traditional teaching methods, time constraints, assessment challenges, teacher training, disciplinary disorders, resistance to change, limited resources, and cultural and social factors. All of these obstacles have been overcome well, namely by using various efforts such as argument mapping, analyzing texts and sources, using real-world examples, encouraging collaborative learning, building relationships, providing clear instructions, encouraging inquiry-based learning, demonstrating thinking processes, improve academic achievement, and problem-solving skills. Recommendations for future researchers are to develop this research by using comparative classes and expanding the scope of the research and further researchers can develop it by using more research instruments to further strengthen the results applying.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pemanfaatan limbah menjadi produk bernilai merupakan salah satu strategi kunci dalam pengembangan ekonomi sirkular di tingkat desa. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan warga Desa Bondol melalui pelatihan pembuatan kerajinan tangan dari pelepah pisang dan limbah plastik. Metode yang digunakan adalah lokakarya dan praktik langsung dengan pendampingan intensif dari tim mahasiswa KKN. Proses pelatihan mencakup tahapan pengolahan bahan baku (pengeringan dan penyiapan pelepah pisang; pembersihan dan pemotongan limbah plastik), teknik dasar menganyam dan merangkai, hingga proses finishing produk. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dari peserta, terutama ibu-ibu PKK, yang berhasil menciptakan berbagai produk kerajinan seperti celengan dan hiasan bunga. Peserta mampu menguasai teknik dasar dan memahami potensi ekonomi dari produk yang dihasilkan. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan berhasil mengubah paradigma masyarakat terhadap limbah, meningkatkan keterampilan kreatif, serta membuka peluang wirausaha baru di sektor ekonomi kreatif berbasis sumber daya lokal. Kata Kunci: Kerajinan Pelepah Pisang, Daur Ulang Plastik, Ekonomi Kreatif. Abstract: Utilizing waste into valuable products is a key strategy in developing a circular economy at the village level. This community service activity aims to empower the residents of Bondol Village through training in making handicrafts from banana midribs and plastic waste. The method used was workshops and hands-on practice with intensive assistance from the KKN student team. The training process included raw material processing (drying and preparing banana midribs; cleaning and cutting plastic waste), basic weaving and assembling techniques, and product finishing. The results showed high enthusiasm from the participants, especially the PKK women's group, who successfully created various handicraft products such as piggy bank and flower decorations. Participants were able to master the basic techniques and understand the economic potential of the products. The conclusion of this activity is that the training successfully changed the community's paradigm towards waste, improved creative skills, and opened new entrepreneurial opportunities in the creative economy sector based on local resources. Abstract

The objective of this research was find out whether or not the use of EGRA (Experience, Generalization, Reinforcement, Application) technique was able to improve students ability in using simple past tense of the third grade students of MTs Terpadu Manba’ul Ulum Sukosewu. It was experimental research. The resulf of the data indicated that, there was difference between the value of students pre-test and post-test. The finding of this research was the use of EGRA (Experience, Generalization, Reinforcement, Application) Technique were effective in teaching grammar efficient and had good improvement the students grammar ability in using simple past tense of MTs Terpadu Manba’ul Ulum Sukosewu.
