Abstract

Student inability to multi-representation in science learning in junior high school and teacher ability to provide teaching materials according to the characteristics of students who have difficulty in multi-representation causes the learning process cannot achieve the desired results. It affects the low learning outcomes and students' cognitive abilities. Therefore, this study aims to determine the types of multi-representation-based teaching materials in science learning in junior high schools and the effectiveness of using multi-representation-based teaching materials used in science learning in junior high schools. The method used is systematic literature review using PRISMA diagrams. The database used to search for literature uses two digital libraries, namely Google Scholar and Garuda. For the selected literature to be relevant, it uses the keyword teaching materials and multi-representation. The next step is to get scientific articles published from 2016 to 2021 which discuss the use of multi-representation-based teaching materials in science learning in junior high schools. The results of the scientific article search contained eight articles that would be analyzed and synthesized. The analytical technique used is the narrative method by grouping the extracted data. The results show the types of multi-representation-based teaching materials in science learning are printing and non-printing teaching materials. Printed teaching materials are modules, books, and worksheets, while non-printed teaching materials are in the form of web simulations. The use of multi-representation-based teaching materials has proven to be effective in the science learning process in junior high schools.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore the concepts and models of integration implemented by Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM). USIM was chosen as the focus of this study because of its firm commitment to the implementation of integration. For instance, the USIM vision statement makes it clear that the university has an ambition to become a “leader in the integration of naqli and aqli knowledge”. The method of data collection used in this study involved the analysis of document and interviews. Documentation was used to obtain data related to integration concepts and models applied in USIM. Then, interviews were conducted to gather information from key informant to supplement the findings from the documentation. It was found that the integration concepts and models applied at USIM consist of four categories or levels namely: al-nusus (ayatization), al-muqaranah (comparison), al-taqyim (adaptation) and at-tafaqquh (integration). These four concepts were have been implemented in detail in the learning process, as well as in research and community development.

Abstract

The present study was carried out to analyze the digital literacy for pre-service natural science teachers through a workshop on optimizing the use of Microsoft office software. This study explored an experimental method with the one-group pretest-posttest design. The current research adopted 25 students as the pre-service natural science teachers in the Natural Sciences Study Program of the Tarbiyah and Teaching Faculty of the Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau State Islamic University. The data were collected through providing instruments of multiple-choice tests on the pretest and posttest, questionnaire, and interview to measure the improvement of digital literacy. To analyze the data, a technique to calculate the mean score of the normalized gain (N-gain) was performed. The findings disclosed that the mean score of N-gain digital literacy for pre-service natural science teachers was 0.70 with the high category. Based on results obtained in this line of research, it is therefore concluded that there was an improvement in the digital literacy for pre-service natural science teachers with high category through the workshop on optimizing the use of Microsoft Office software.

Abstract

Virus corona yang tak kunjung selesai mengakibatkan seluruh tatanan kehidupan berubah. Perguruan tinggi yang menjadi tempat mahasiswa mencari ilmu harus melakukan pembelajaran secara daring. Salah satu prodi di perguruan tinggi yaitu PGMI. PGMI telah mewajibkan mahasiswa untuk mempelajari berbagai ilmu termasuk Konsep Biologi. Dalam pembelajaran daring perlu adanya model pembelajaran yang tepat, salah satunya menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Adapun tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini yaitu untuk mengetahui peningkatan pembelajaran daring menggunakan model PBL. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan. Adapun hasil yang didapatkan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pada siklus I pembelajaran daring menggunakan PBL belum efektif karena masih banyak mahasiswa yang tidak aktif dan salah dalam menjawab soal pertanyaan. Sedangkan, pada siklus II telah mengalami peningkatan, dimana mahasiswa terlihat aktif dalam mengikuti diskusi dan sudah banyak yang tidak salah lagi dalam mengerjakan soal pertanyaan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran daring dengan model PBL sangat efektif bagi mahasiswa PGMI UIN SUSKA Riau.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh penggunaan mind map terhadap pemahaman konsep stoikiometri mahasiswa pada mata kuliah kimia dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan rancangan nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 80 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa instrumen tes untuk mengukur kemampuan pemahaman konsep stoikiometri mahasiswa pada mata kuliah kimia dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep stoikiometri mahasiswa yang belajar menggunakan mind map sebesar 85,50 lebih besar daripada nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep stoikiometri mahasiswa yang belajar menggunakan ceramah dengan nilai 80,35. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep stoikiometri mahasiswa yang belajar menggunakan media mind map lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa yang belajar dengan ceramah. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan mind map lebih efektif dibandingkan metode ceramah terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep stoikiometri mahasiswa

Abstract

This service activity aims to provide teachers with skills in improving understanding and skills in implementing online learning. The problems faced include those related to learning at school which is done online and this makes it difficult for those who have not done it before. The implementation method used in solving these problems begins with the socialization stage, participant recruitment, implementation of service and assistance, monitoring and evaluation. The socialization stage is carried out through survey methods and interviews at the service location. Next, the team determined the solutions and things needed by SMAN 1 Ujung Batau. At the implementation stage, participants are invited to actively participate in direct involvement in gaining experience in providing quality learning media during the pandemic, and how to develop online learning procedures. This activity resulted in being able to help SMAN 1 Ujung Batu in improving the ability of SMAN teachers in Ujung Batu to be able to implement online learning. However, the participants were still relatively unfamiliar in using some software/software to support online learning.

Abstract

The objectives of this development research are to produce video media for learning biology material for Covid-19 and synthesize the results of the validation of the Covid-19 biology learning video media as an alternative to increase students' basic competencies. The subject of this research is the biology teachers of class X at Kota Kendari. The results of the research shows that learning video media production went through seven stages, i.e., 1) analysis of potential and problems related to infrastructure at the research location; 2) data collection of scientific articles and modules; 3) product design; 4) validation of material designs by experts; 5) design improvements with consideration of advice from experts; 6) media product trial by teachers; and, 7) revision of media products with consideration from the teachers. The results of the validation of the learning video media are categorized as feasible. Therefore, the learning video media was potential to be developed as alternative media to foster the students’ basic competence of viral material.Keywords: Alternative media; basic competence; biology; Covid-19; learning video media.

Abstract

Riset ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesan guru terhadap program inservice training yang telah dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Peserta yang mengikuti program pengabdian terdiri dari 25 orang guru di SMA Negeri 1 Ujung Batu. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan SPSS versi 26 for windows. Penilaian kesan program pengabdian terdiri dari 3 konstruk yang mana hasil dari konstruk materi diperoleh rata-rata 4.21 dengan kategori baik, konstruk penyampaian materi diperoleh rata-rata 4.36 dengan kategori baik dan konstruk diskusi/ tanya jawab diperoleh rata-rata 3.07 dengan kategori baik. Sehingga dapat ditarik sebuah kesimpulan bahwa program inservice training implementasi pembelajaran daring bagi guru di masa pandemi memiliki kesan yang baik bagi peserta
