Abstract

Misconceptions can affect students' understanding. Identifying misconceptions is an important first step in gaining an understanding of student learning. One of the instruments that can be used to diagnose student misconceptions is a four-tier diagnostic instrument. This study aims to develop a four-tier diagnostic instrument on the material of chemical equilibrium. This research is a research and development (RnD) research. The research stages consisted of: concept mapping, pre-test, identification of unscientific student concepts, developing prototypes, validating prototypes, and completing the final prototype. The product development stages consist of: analysis of learning tools, preparation of test question grids, writing of items, as well as reviewing and revising questions. The data analysis carried out included validity, reliability, difficulty level, and distractor effectiveness. The final product that is produced consists of 20 items on the sub-topic of dynamic equilibrium, equilibrium constant, and equilibrium shift. The results of content validation on two expert lecturers found that the four-tier diagnostic instrument on chemical equilibrium material was valid and suitable for use. In empirical validation, it was found that 3 items were invalid. The resulting test questions are reliable with a reliability score of 0.77. In general, this four-tier diagnostic instrument is at a moderate level and is an effective distractor. This shows that a four-tier diagnostic instrument on chemical equilibrium material can be used to diagnose student misconceptions.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran tersebut dalam menjawab tantangan pembelajaran Abad 21 dan mengetahui masalah-masalah yang dihadapi siswa selama pembelajaran sehingga dapat dicarikan solusinya. Kegiatan lesson study akan mampu memperjelas awaban dari tujuan peneltian yang diharapkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, yang dilakukan dalam bentuk kegiatan lesson study yang terdiri dari 3 tahapan utama yaitu Plan, Do, dan See. Pengumpulan data meliputi data observasi, LKS Vee Map dan wawancara siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan lesson study dalam model pembelajaran heuristik vee mampu menjawab tantangan pembelajaran Abad 21 dan mampu mengidentifikasi masalah-masalah yang muncul selama pembelajaran sehingga dapat diperbaiki untuk pembelajaran selanjutnya.

Abstract

AbstractScience learning does not only involve facts and concepts but also ways of thinking, explaining scientifically, and doing a practicum. Unfortunately, existing e-learning and/or social media have not been able to facilitate the implementation of online practicums. Therefore, an e-scaffolding website based on scientific explanations is needed as teaching media and materials since learning is mostly conducted online during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to describe the development process and the validity and legibility of the e-scaffolding website to develop scientific explanations for elementary school pre-service teachers. The development of this e-scaffolding website refers to the development model developed by Lee and Owens (2004). The instrument of this study was a questionnaire using a Likert scale. There are 3 kinds of questionnaires used, including the material validation questionnaire by the expert validator, the media validation questionnaire by the expert validator, and the student readability test questionnaire. The results showed that the average product validation results on the website aspect were 84% and, on the e-scaffolding aspect was 86.67%. While the results of the product readability test were 82.29%. This means that the development of the e-scaffolding website based on scientific explanations is very valid and very feasible to use in developing the scientific explanation abilities of elementary school pre-service teachersKeywords: website e-scaffolding, scientific explanation, teaching materials. AbstrakDalam pembelajaran sains tidak hanya melibatkan fakta dan konsep, tetapi juga cara berpikir dan menjelaskan secara ilmiah. Selain itu, dalam pembelajaran sains juga membutuhkan praktikum. Sayangnya, e-learning atau media sosial yang ada belum dapat memfasilitasi pelaksanaan praktikum online. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan website e-scaffolding berbasis penjelasan ilmiah sebagai media dan bahan ajar di masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan dan kevalidan serta keterbacaan website e-scaffolding untuk mengembangkan scientific explanation calon guru sekolah dasar. Pengembangan website e-scaffolding ini mengacu pada model pengembangan yang dikembangkan oleh Lee & Owens. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket dengan menggunakan skala likert. Angket yang digunakan ada 3 macam, yaitu angket validasi materi oleh validator, angket validasi media oleh validator, dan angket uji keterbacaan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil validasi produk pada aspek website sebesar 84% dan pada aspek e-scaffolding sebesar 86,67%. Sedangkan hasil uji keterbacaan produk sebesar 82,29%. Hal ini berarti bahwa pengembangan website e-scaffolding berbasis penjelasan ilmiah sangat valid dan sangat layak digunakan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan penjelasan ilmiah calon guru sekolah dasar.Kata kunci: website e-scaffolding, penjelasan ilmiah, bahan ajar.

Abstract

The resulting test questions are valid and reliable with a reliability score of 0.77. This shows that a four-tier diagnostic instrument on chemical equilibrium material can be used to diagnose student misconceptions.Abstrak: Miskonsepsi dapat berpengaruh pada pemahaman siswa. Identifikasi miskonsepsi merupakan Langkah awal untuk mendapatkan pemahaman tentang pembelajaran siswa. Salah satu instrumen yang dapat digunakan untuk mendiagnosis miskonsepsi siswa adalah instrumen diagnostik four-tier. Penelitian ini berujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen diagnostik four-tier pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Produk akhir yang dihasilkan berupa 20 soal pilihan ganda empat tingkat. Soal tes yang dihasilkan valid dan reliabel dengan skor reliabilitas sebesar 0,77. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen diagnostik four-tier pada materi kesetimbangan kimia dapat digunakan untuk mendiagnosis miskonsepsi siswa.

Abstract

The essence of Natural Science consists of products, processes, and attitudes. The scientific method at the elementary school level is learned gradually. One of them is by involving students to observe their surroundings. One of the science materials at the elementary school level is the ecosystem. Students' understanding of ecosystem material will be very good if students observe directly at the surrounding environment. However, the concept of food chains and food webs is very rarely found directly in the environment at one observation at a time. For that, a website-based learning media is needed on ecosystem materials for fifth grade students of SD Brawijaya Smart. School. This research is a research and development research with the Dick and Carey development model. The subject of this research validator involved one material expert, design expert and learning expert respectively. In addition, this study also involved 25 fifth grade students of SD Brawijaya Smart School to assess the attractiveness of the website application for students. The ecosystem material website application in class V SD Brawijaya Smart School fulfills the feasibility test of several validators. The results of the validation of material experts were 96%, design experts 96%, and learning experts 92%. These results indicate that the website developed is feasible / valid for use in the learning process. This research is limited to the process of developing a check dam to test the validity of the ecosystem website application in class V SD Brawijaya Smart School. Therefore, further research is needed to test the effectiveness of the ecosystem material website application on students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Concepts in science material have characteristics related to concepts in one subject matter, between materials and with concepts outside other concepts or with other disciplines. To be able to understand this concept, an integrative understanding of the concept is needed. One of the materials that require an integrative understanding is material about nutrition and nutrition. This study used a descriptive design to describe an integrative understanding of nutrients and nutrition materials. The method used was a test and interview guide. The results showed that (1) most of the respondents were not able to provide an explanation of the benefits of chewing food both in terms of the digestive system, the type of food digested and integrative explanations with the relationship between concepts, (2) respondents experienced failure to explain the presence of enzymes in the digestive system. mechanics, (3) most of the research respondents did not yet have the ability about the relationship between the function of fiber in food and nutrition for the digestive system, (4) the respondents were unable to explain the function of fiber, nutritional content in food, nutritional function and how to manage and utilize nutrients. Failure to understand this concept may also be due to failure to understand previous concepts related to, for example, the circulatory system of animals.

Abstract

Saat ini, pandemi covid-19 yang disebabkan oleh covid-19 masih melibatkan masyarakat dan meluas. Dalam hal ini, sekolah telah menerapkan sistem pembelajaran online. Kegiatan pembelajaran online yang dilakukan oleh siswa tahun pertama MI Miftaful Astor Kabupaten Keddy merupakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang belum pernah dilakukan oleh siswa sekolah dasar yang masih sangat kurang pengetahuan dan keterampilannya terkait pembelajaran online. Tujuan riset ini yaitu untuk 1) mengenali tindakan serta sikap murid dalam pembelajaran di masa new normal, 2) mengenali tindakan serta sikap guru dalam pembelajaran di masa new normal, 3) tindakan serta sikap orang lanjut usia yang mendukung pembelajaran anak di era baru. Riset ini merupakan riset kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus analitik. Cara pengumpulan informasi dalam riset ini terdiri dari pengamatan, tanya jawab, serta dokumentasi. Analisa informasi dalam riset ini memakai reduksi informasi, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Selain itu, triangulasi data dan keefektifan data memakai teknik triangulasi. Hasil survei ini adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Murid cenderung bosan dan sulit memperoleh materi saat belajar online. 2) Kecuali dijelaskan secara tatap muka, guru merasa kesulitan untuk menyampaikan materi yang mungkin sulit bagi siswa. 3) Orang tua kesulitan untuk mendampingi anaknya selama pelaksanaan pembelajaran online karena kurangnya kemampuan, waktu dan biaya.

Abstract

The ability to solve problems and reason scientifically is needed by prospective elementary schools or Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers to meet the demands of the 21st century. This study aimed to determine the effect of digital science teaching materials based on scaffolding problem-based learning on students' scientific thinking skills and problem-solving. This research is quasi-experimental quantitative research with a pre-test-post-control group design. The sample of this study was 24 PGMI students at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang who chose the concentration of Natural Sciences. The research instrument used scientific reasoning tests and problem-solving, which consisted of five descriptive questions. Data analysis was performed using paired sample t-test. Data analysis showed that students who used scaffolding problem-based learning digital science teaching materials had higher scientific thinking and problem-solving skills than those who did not use these materials. Therefore, it can be concluded that digital science material influences students' scientific thinking skills and problem-solving. Kemampuan memecahkan masalah dan bernalar secara ilmiah sangat dibutuhkan calon guru sekolah dasar atau Madrasah Ibtidaiyah untuk memenuhi tuntutan abad 21. Tujuan pelaksanaan riset berikut guna memberi pendeskripsian pengaruhnya bahan ajar sains digital berbasiskan scaffolding problem-based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir ilmiah dan pemecahan permasalahan mahasiswa. Riset berikut ialah riset kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi eksperimen pre-post-control group design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 24 mahasiswa PGMI UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang yang memilih konsentrasi Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan tes penalaran ilmiah dan pemecahan masalah yang terdiri dari lima pertanyaan deskriptif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t sampel berpasangan. Analisis data menandakan yakni murid yang mempergunakan bahan ajar digital sains berbasis scaffolding PBL memiliki tingkat berpikir ilmiah dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah yang lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang tidak menggunakan bahan tersebut. maka begitu, berkeismpulan yakni bahan ajar sains digital berbasiskan scaffolding PBL membawa pengaruh kepada keterampilan berpikir ilmiah dan pemecahan masalah siswa.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Covid-19 pandemic has led to the emergence of various complex problems for educational institutions. The learning process which originally ran face-to-face directly in the classroom, had to be shifted to online or distance learning. Madrasah in the Poncokusumo District are included in schools that implement online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Teachers of the Sunan Ampel Foundation, Poncokusumo District, have difficulty implementing online learning, especially in making digital teaching materials. So far, teachers only use the WhatsApp platform in carrying out learning. The implementation of this service aims to provide empowerment to Sunan Ampel Foundation teachers in developing digital teaching materials. This service is carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. This methods consists of planning, implementation and evaluation analysis as well as activity barriers. This activity was carried out for one month involving 55 teachers from the Sunan Ampel Pomcokusumo Foundation. In general, the training on the preparation of digital teaching materials went well. Training participants gain knowledge about the concept of teaching materials and how to compose digital teaching materials using the Canva application. In general, participants were also highly motivated to compose digital teaching materials. Some of them have succeeded in producing a digital teaching material product. Proses pembelajaran yang semula berjalan secara tatap muka langsung di ruang kelas, terpaksa dialihkan menjadi tatap muka dalam jaringan atau yang disebut dengan Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh. Madrasah di wilayah Kecamatan Poncokusumo termasuk ke dalam sekolah yang menerapkan PJJ selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Guru Yayasan Sunan Ampel Kecamatan Poncokusumo mengalami kesulitan dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran online, khususnya dalam membuat bahan ajar digital. Selama ini, guru hanya menggunakan platform WhatsApp dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pemberdayaan pada guru yayasan sunan ampel dalam mengembangkan bahan ajar digital. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR), terdiri dari perencanaan kegiatan, pelaksanaan dan analisis evaluasi serta hambatan kegiatan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama satu bulan dengan melibatkan 55 guru yayasan sunan ampel pomcokusumo Secara umum, pelatihan penyusunan bahan ajar digital berjalan dengan baik. Peserta pelatihan mendapatkan ilmu mengenai konsep bahan ajar dan cara menyusun bahan ajar digital dengan menggunakan aplikasi canva.  Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran online, Guru Madrasah, Pelatihan Bahan Ajar Digital

Abstract

AbstractThe Covid-19 pandemic has affected all sectors of life, including education. During the Covid-19 pandemic, all tertiary institutions changed learning process by using blended learning, including the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education (PGMI) study program throughout East Java. Blended learning can only be successful when paired with instructional resources tailored to each student's individual requirements. This research aims to identify and evaluate gaps in East Java's PGMI student population's access to digital scientific instruction resources that are compatible with blended learning pedagogies. This study employed a quantitative survey method involving PGMI students throughout East Java. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed online. Need analysis included learning characteristics, teaching materials, and learning orientation. Based on the analysis that has been done, it is concluded that students need interactive teaching materials based on problem-based learning equipped with virtual practicums or online students worksheets.Keywords: digital teaching materials, blended learning, new normal era.AbstrakPandemi Covid-19 telah mempengaruhi semua sektor kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan. Di masa pandemi Covid-19, seluruh perguruan tinggi mengubah proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan blended learning, termasuk program studi Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (PGMI) se-Jawa Timur. Blended learning hanya dapat berhasil apabila dipasangkan dengan sumber daya instruksional yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan individu masing-masing mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi kesenjangan akses populasi mahasiswa PGMI se-Jawa Timur terhadap sumber pengajaran sains digital yang kompatibel dengan pedagogi pembelajaran campuran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei kuantitatif yang melibatkan mahasiswa PGMI se-Jawa Timur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan secara online. Analisis kebutuhan meliputi karakteristik pembelajaran, bahan ajar, dan orientasi pembelajaran. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa siswa membutuhkan bahan ajar interaktif berbasis pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dilengkapi dengan praktikum virtual atau LKS online.Kata kunci: bahan ajar digital, blended learning, era new normal.
