Abstract

Understanding is very important in science learning, especially at the level of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Students’ concepts understanding tend to similarity to the explanations and examples provided by the teacher or teaching materials. In fact, most teaching materials and textbooks are not reviewer both in terms of content and material. Corrected and modified teaching material to be improved students’ understanding.

Abstract

Model, strategy or approach, which applied in teaching, can influence the process of learning. It assumed that the right approach can increase the ability of students in understanding the concepts which are studied. Generally, the teaching in MI has different characteristic from the elementary school. Creativity or modification model approaches needed to apply the teaching and learning of science in MI. One of the applicable approaches in science teaching, which is appropriate with MI characteristic, is STS. The implementation of STS approach has the opportunity to bring the Islamic teachings such as moral-ethic.Keyword: Approach, concept, STS

Abstract

Most of the concepts in science are abstract ones. These concepts tend to be diffiult to study by students who have not developed formal thinking ability. This diffiulty may cause misconception, i.e. students’ conceptions which are different from those generally accepted by the scientificommunity. Understanding of teacher in non PGMI / PGSD on material science at Islamic Elementary School is still considered to be lacking or need improvement. Abstract

Student understanding of the concept of Natural Sciences, especially “material and its changes” are inflenced by the students understanding of the previous material on the “various substances and nature”. The development of learning sources about “material and its changes” canimprove students understanding of the concept, in this case is students of college, if (1) making the media of teaching based on the basic concepts about material that will be learned by students and that concepts arrangedsystematically or sequentially concepts, for example from simple to complex concept or from the lower to the higher concept, (2) the examples that given to the students close to the students experiences, beginning from a simple example.Keywords: “Material and Its changes”, Remedical of LearningSources.

Abstract

The essence of Natural Science consists of products, processes, and attitudes. The scientific method at the elementary school level is learned gradually. One of them is by involving students to observe their surroundings. One of the science materials at the elementary school level is the ecosystem. Students' understanding of ecosystem material will be very good if students observe directly at the surrounding environment. However, the concept of food chains and food webs is very rarely found directly in the environment at one observation at a time. For that, a website-based learning media is needed on ecosystem materials for fifth grade students of SD Brawijaya Smart. School. This research is a research and development research with the Dick and Carey development model. The subject of this research validator involved one material expert, design expert and learning expert respectively. In addition, this study also involved 25 fifth grade students of SD Brawijaya Smart School to assess the attractiveness of the website application for students. The ecosystem material website application in class V SD Brawijaya Smart School fulfills the feasibility test of several validators. The results of the validation of material experts were 96%, design experts 96%, and learning experts 92%. These results indicate that the website developed is feasible / valid for use in the learning process. This research is limited to the process of developing a check dam to test the validity of the ecosystem website application in class V SD Brawijaya Smart School. Therefore, further research is needed to test the effectiveness of the ecosystem material website application on students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

The development of teaching materials based on process skills in the ecosystem material is one of the teaching materials implemented to support and facilitate students in mastering the material in the learning process and can improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to (1) develop teaching material products based on ecosystem material process skills, (2) to develop textbooks that make students more interested in learning, and (3) to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes with material processing skills-based teaching ecosystem materials. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The product of this process skills-based teaching material is very feasible to be applied. It is evident from the results of the evaluation of the material expert validation test that the eligibility level is 100%, the design expert gets 83.75%, and the learning expert gets 93.75%, because the materials and designs used match the curriculum and student characteristics; (2) The level of attractiveness of process skills-based teaching materials in the field test was 92.77%, because the teaching materials were presented attractively and were designed by selecting images, colors, and fonts that were in accordance with the characteristics of the students; (3) The increase in student learning outcomes can be seen from the post-test results of the control class and the experimental class, the mean score of the experimental class is 83, on the other hand the average score of the control class is 53.82. The t-test results obtained = 11.562> = 2.00575. is rejected and is accepted, this shows that this teaching material makes students more familiar with the material, because practice questions are related to daily life and the student's environment, and are tested to improve student learning outcomes so that this process skills-based teaching material is suitable for use in learning in particular ecosystem matter. Pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan proses materi ekosistem adalah salah satu bahan ajar yang diimplementasikan untuk menunjang serta mempermudah siswa dalam menguasai materi pada proses pembelajaran serta dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengembangkan produk bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan proses materi ekosistem, (2) untuk mengembangkan buku ajar yang membuat siswa menjadi lebih tertarik dalam pembelajaran, serta (3) untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan proses materi ekosistem. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan jika: (1) Produk bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan proses ini sangat layak diaplikasikan. Terbukti dari hasil penilaian uji validasi ahli materi mendapat tingkat kelayakan 100%, ahli desain mendapat 83,75%, serta ahli pembelajar mendapat 93,75%, karena materi serta desain yang digunakan cocok dengan kurikulum serta karakteristik siswa; (2) Tingkat kemenarikan bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan proses pada uji lapangan didapat 92,77%, karna bahan ajar disajikan menarik serta didesain dengan pemilihan gambar, warna, serta jenis huruf yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa; (3) Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa terlihat dari hasil post-test kelas kontrol serta kelas eksperimen, nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen adalah 83, sebaliknya nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol adalah 53,82. Hasil uji- t memperoleh = 11,562 > = 2,00575. Ho ditolak dan diterima, hal ini menunjukkan jika bahan ajar ini menjadikan siswa lebih menguasai materi, karena soal latihan berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari serta lingkungan siswa, serta teruji dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sehingga bahan ajar berbasis keterampilan proses ini layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran khususnya materi ekosistem.

Abstract

Concepts in science material have characteristics related to concepts in one subject matter, between materials and with concepts outside other concepts or with other disciplines. To be able to understand this concept, an integrative understanding of the concept is needed. One of the materials that require an integrative understanding is material about nutrition and nutrition. This study used a descriptive design to describe an integrative understanding of nutrients and nutrition materials. The method used was a test and interview guide. The results showed that (1) most of the respondents were not able to provide an explanation of the benefits of chewing food both in terms of the digestive system, the type of food digested and integrative explanations with the relationship between concepts, (2) respondents experienced failure to explain the presence of enzymes in the digestive system. mechanics, (3) most of the research respondents did not yet have the ability about the relationship between the function of fiber in food and nutrition for the digestive system, (4) the respondents were unable to explain the function of fiber, nutritional content in food, nutritional function and how to manage and utilize nutrients. Failure to understand this concept may also be due to failure to understand previous concepts related to, for example, the circulatory system of animals.

Abstract

Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemdikbud) meluncurkan kebijakan asesmen baru yang cukup mengundang kontroversi, yaitu meniadakan UN dan diganti dengan mekanisme asesmen baru yaitu Asesmen Nasional. Penerapan Asesmen Nasional akan berdampak pada kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dampak tersebut dengan menggunakan teori kognitif sosial sebagai perspektif. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka (library research). Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan; penentuan topik penelitian yang dilanjutkan dengan meninjau literatur, reduksi literatur untuk menemukan bukti dan temuan, pengorganisasian literatur, review literatur dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Asesmen Nasional dapat berdampak terhadap paradigma pembelajaran, terutama menyangkut dua hal yaitu posisi asesmen dan literasi.  Dalam perspektif teori kognitif sosial, implikasi penerapan Asesmen Nasional terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran dapat dilihat melalui analisis terhadap fungsi ketiga komponen yang ada di dalamnya, yaitu AKM, Survei Karakter, dan Survei Lingkungan Belajar. Ketiga komponen ini dapat dianalogikan dengan konsep Triadic Resiprocal Caustation Bandura, dimana AKM dan Survei Karakter mewakili Person dan Behavior, sedangkan Survei Lingkungan Belajar mewakili Environment. Adapun aspek literasi membaca dan numerasi diletakkan bukan sebagai tujuan pembelajaran, melainkan sebagai alat yang wajib peserta didik kuasai cara penggunaannya. Sebab itu, guru dituntut untuk mendukung penyiapan kognisi masing-masing peserta didik dalam menguasai konten materi pelajaran berbasis pada penguasaan dua literasi tersebut.

Abstract

AbstractThe government through the Ministry of Education and Culture launched a new policy that was quite controversial, abolishing the National Examination and replacing it with a new assessment mechanism, namely the Minimum Competency Assessment (Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum, abbreviated as AKM). The implementation of AKM has elicited various responses from schools, teachers, and the community. One of the responses that emerged was confusion regarding the concepts, mechanisms, and forms of questions in the AKM. This study aims to answer these issues, by developing a supplementary book for preparing AKM-based questions. This study is developmental research by adapting the Borg and Gall model. There were four stages in this study, including planning, developing, try-out, and dissemination. Data collection technique used questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Quantitative data from the questionnaire were analysed using percentage analysis techniques. While the qualitative data used were descriptive analysis techniques.  Based on the results of the validation and try-out had been carried out, this supplementary book can be said to be valid and worthy of distribution. The validity test and try-out of prospective users showed that the product that had been developed provides benefits for teachers. The supplementary book for preparing AKM-based questions is a product that can provide information about technical steps for teachers in developing learning evaluation models. Implementasi AKM menuai berbagai tanggapan dari pihak sekolah, guru, dan masyarakat. Salah satu tanggapan yang muncul adalah kebingungan mengenai konsep, mekanisme, dan bentuk soal dalam AKM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, dengan mengembangkan buku pelengkap penyusunan soal berbasis AKM. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan mengadaptasi model Borg and Gall. Ada empat tahapan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu perencanaan, pengembangan, uji coba, dan diseminasi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, wawancara, dan observasi. Data kuantitatif dari kuesioner dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis persentase. Sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil validasi dan uji coba yang telah dilakukan, maka buku pelengkap ini dapat dikatakan valid dan layak edar. Uji validitas dan uji coba calon pengguna menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan memberikan manfaat bagi guru. Buku pelengkap penyusunan soal berbasis AKM merupakan produk yang dapat memberikan informasi tentang langkah-langkah teknis bagi guru dalam mengembangkan model evaluasi pembelajaran. Namun demikian, beberapa perbaikan masih perlu dilakukan mengikuti saran yang diperoleh dari validator dan calon pengguna.Kata kunci: asesmen kompetensi minimum, buku suplemen, guru, sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Ecopedagogy is an academic movement to make students aware of being individuals who have understanding, awareness, and skills in protecting and preserving nature. The ecopedagogy concept is oriented towards a sustainable future or sustainability in preserving nature. By applying the ecopedagogy concept, it can make the school environment clean, beautiful, comfortable for learning and can bring up attitude of caring for the environment in students as a form of preserving local wisdom. This research explores the concept of ecopedagogy in the preservation of local wisdom at MIN 10 Blitar. The purpose of describe the ecopedagogy concept in the preservation of local wisdom at MIN 10 Blitar. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach and the type of research is an instrumental case study. The data collection techniques in this research are observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research uses the Milles and Huberman model with three steps analysis: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research indicate that the ecopedagogy concept at MIN 10 Blitar is implemented through a series of eco green programs. The ecopedagogy concept at MIN 10 Blitar, it can foster students to have ecological awareness and have skills to preserve the environment. Students of MIN 10 Blitar can play an active role in the preservation of local wisdom "Resik Deso" by the people of Sukosewu Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency in protecting and preserving the environment
