Abstract

This Classroom Action Research is based by the existence of the problems at 5th. Grade students of SD YPPI-II Surabaya, namely low skill level of the students in writing. Subsequently, the objective of this research is to find out whether the Mind Mapping learning method can be used to help the 5th Grade students improve their sill in writing and to find out the obstacles encountered in the implementation Mind Mapping learning method. This research is using the sequences of planning, research action implementation, observation and reflection for every cycle. In planning phase, some scenes, such as learning, students’ worksheet, assessment tools, and observation instruments are prepared. In research action phase, the observation towards learning management, and the assessment towards the concept understanding of Mind Mapping, as well as the writing results are conducted. The reflection is conducted by analyzing the observed data and the assessment result, by using class completion percentage of 85% as the standard of the result success. This research is conducted by 2 cycle rounds of research. The research results show that the Mind Mapping learning method has succeeded in improving the students’ skills in writing orderly. Some students obtain low scores because of their inability in mastering the diction choice and spelling use in writing. In addition, some students think that the time allocation provided to do students’ worksheet is not accordance with the difficulty level of the assignment provided. Based on the reflection of the first cycle and the improvement conducted at the second cycle, it can be inferred that the key factor that can be the obstacle to implement the Mind Mapping learning method in class is the teacher herself that has not mastered some basic skills of teaching and basic skills of learning management.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan pantun matematika guna mempertajam keterampilan literasi mahasiswa melalui service learning. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian pengembangan dengan tujuh tahapan. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua mahasiswa pendidikan matematika dan 19 siswa SMP Ma’arif Surabaya. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, lembar validasi, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengembangan pantun matematika melalui tahap pengidentifikasian potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, dan uji coba pemakaian. Selain itu, kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan pantun matematika juga dideskripsikan.

Abstract

Pemahaman matematika diperoleh melalui penalaran, sedangkan penalaran dipahami dan dilatih melalui pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu, keterampilan penalaran sangat dibutuhkan siswa saat belajar matematika khususnya dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hambatan bernalar siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah 10 siswa kelas IX SMPN 1 Kota Blitar. Instrumen penelitian meliputi peneliti sebagai instrumen utama serta soal permasalahan kontektual dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Tes bertujuan agar mengetahui apa saja kesalahan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah kontekstual dan teknik wawancara bertujuan untuk mengecek keabsahan data serta mengetahui penyebab kesalahan tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak siswa yang mengalami hambatan bernalar dalam proses penyelesaian masalah kontekstual karena mereka tidak dapat memenuhi keempat indikator penalaran matematis dalam penelitian ini. Subjek hanya bisa memahami masalah tanpa mengetahui cara menyelesaikannya.

Abstract

Abstrak:Etnomatematika menjadi kajian tren penelitian saat ini. Etnomatematika memberikan pengaruh positif dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan melibatkan potensi budaya. Matematika perlu dikomunikasikan dengan menyisipkan budaya sehingga siswa mudah memahami materi. Oleh karena itu, etnomatematika perlu diintegrasikan dengan suatu model pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran model probing-prompting berbasis etnomatematika yang dapat melatih komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Instructional Development Institute (IDI) dengan tiga tahapan, yaitu menentukan, mengembangkan, dan mengevaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 siswa kelas 8 MTs Negeri Sidorejo Banyuwangi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket, observasi, lembar validasi, dan tes. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berupa kisi-kisi soal, soal tes, LKS, dan RPP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Perangkat pembelajaran ini dapat digunakan guru untuk mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.Abstract:Ethnomatematics becomes current study trend. It gives positive influence in learning mathematics by involving cultural potential. Mathematics needs to be communicated by integrating culture so that students easily understand the material. Therefore, ethnomatematics needs to be integrated with a learning model. Thus, the purpose of this study is to develop an ethnomatematics-based probing-prompting learning device that can train student’s mathematical communication. The study used a development model of the Instructional Development Institute (IDI) with three stages, namely defining, developing, and evaluating. The research subjects were 30 eighth grade students at MTs Negeri Sidorejo Banyuwangi. Data were collected through questionnaire, observation, validation sheet, and test. The learning device consists of the prediction of test problems, test problems, student’s worksheet, and lesson plan. The result of the study shows that the learning device fulfill valid, practical, and effective criterion. The learning device can be used by teachers to develop students' mathematical communication ability.

Abstract

Upaya pengembangan potensi alam sangatlah penting untuk meningkatkan potensi wisata Desa Jatisari. Beberapa cara dilakukan untuk menjadikannya sebagai desa wisata. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk mengembangkan potensi wisata yang dapat meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat di Desa Jatisari Kecamatan Tajinan Kabupaten Malang. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan untuk kegiatan pengembangan wisata ini adalah survei lokasi wisata dan perancangan desain. Kegiatan ini berupa perancangan desain wisata dengan bentuk animasi. Pihak perangkat desa dan masyarakat memberikan respons positif terhadap produk rancangan. Hasil perancangan ini dapat dijadikan acuan untuk pembangunan selanjutnya secara bertahap.Kata Kunci: perancangan desain; potensi alam; desa wisata.Tourism Design Design for the Development of Jatisari Village's Natural PotentialABSTRACT Efforts to develop natural potential are very important to increase the tourism potential of Jatisari Village. Several methods are used to make it a tourism village. The purpose of this activity is to develop tourism potential that can improve the economy of the community in the Jatisari Village, Tajinan District, Malang. The implementation method used for this tourism development activity was a survey of tourist sites and design construction. The activity is in the form of tourism design construction with an animation form. Village officials and the community responded positively to the product design. The results of this design can be used as a reference for further development gradually.Keywords: design construction; natural potential; tourism village.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan film animasi aritmetika sosial berbasis ekonomi syariah yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model Plomp yang terdiri dari tiga fase, yaitu fase penelitian pendahuluan, fase pembuatan prototype, dan fase penilaian. Uji coba prototype dilakukan kepada 21 siswa kelas VIII MTs di Sidoarjo, Indonesia. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar validasi ahli untuk menilai kevalidan, angket respons siswa untuk menilai kepraktisan, dan angket minat belajar siswa untuk menilai keefektifan film animasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan film animasi aritmetika sosial berbasis ekonomi syariah untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa MTs terhadap pembelajaran matematika yang terintegrasi dengan ilmu keislaman. Meskipun peningkatan minat belajar siswa masih tergolong rendah, namun secara keseluruhan film animasi yang dikembangkan dinilai valid, praktis, dan efektif, sehingga layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika di MTs. Development of social arithmetic animation film based on sharia economic to increase MTs students' interest in learningAbstractThis study aimed to produce an animated film of social arithmetic based on sharia economics that was valid, practical, and effective to increase students’ interest. The study was development research using Plomp’s model, which consisted of three stages: the preliminary research stage, the prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. Prototype trials were conducted on grade-eight students (n = 21) of MTs (Islamic Junior High School) in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. The instruments consisted of the expert validation sheet to assess the validity, the students' response questionnaire to assess the practicality, and the students' interest questionnaire to assess the effectiveness of the animated film. This study produced an animated film of social arithmetic based on sharia economics to increase MTs students' interest in learning mathematics integrated with Islamic science. Although the increase in student interest in learning was still low, overall, the animated film developed was considered valid, practical, and effective, so it was proper to use in mathematics learning in MTs.

Abstract

A study of mathematics integration with technology and Islamic values becomes an interesting topic to be studied by many scholars. The mathematics integration is essential to be applied in learning so that it can make students become Muslim individuals who have excellent character and proficiency in utilizing technology. However, there are still few studies that investigate mathematics integration with technology and Islamic values. Therefore, this study aims to describe phenomena directly related to mathematics learning that contain Islamic values and the use of technology in the learning process. The type of this study was descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were three mathematics teachers who teach at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs). The study procedure was carried out to find the phenomenon of research subjects that occurred at MTs. The validity of the data used the triangulation of the source and method. Data were collected through literature review, interview, and observation. The study results showed that three MTs had applied Islamic values and technology content in mathematics learning. This study recommends the need for innovation in MTs to design mathematics-integrated learning with Islamic values and the use of technology to help teachers create efficient learning, attract students' learning interest, and create an active learning environment for students.

Abstract

Mathematical representation is an essential aspect of mathematical problem-solving. But students’ ability of an accurate representation in ill-posed problem-solving is still very minimal compared to that in well-posed problem-solving. However, ill-posed problem supported mathematical abstraction used in mathematical concept understanding. This study described the representations used by mathematics education students in solving ill-posed and well-posed problems. Thirty Indonesian matematics education students have solved ill-well posed problems by using think-aloud. Researchers also collected data using a video recorder and a field note. Data were analyzed by a constant comparative method so that it was obtained the different characteristics of representations between solving ill-posed and well-posed problems. The finding of the study showed that verbal and symbolic representations were used by subjects to compute, detect, and correct error. They also justified their answers in ill-posed problem-solving. However, the visual representation was only used by first subject to identify and correct error. The subjects lacked to expose necessary information to solve the ill-posed problem compared to the well-posed problem.

Abstract

Literasi spasial merupakan komponen penting yang harus dikuasai siswa. Literasi spasial mendukung pemahaman siswa tentang geometri ruang yang erat kaitannya dengan dunia nyata. Namun, fakta di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi spasial siswa rendah. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini menyelidiki fenomena literasi spasial siswa pada pemecahan masalah geometri ruang. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Peneliti memberikan soal literasi spasial kepada 5 siswa kelas XII SMA dan meminta siswa menyelesaikannya. Kemudian, wawancara dilakukan kepada setiap siswa secara individu. Pada artikel ini, peneliti mendeskripsikan satu siswa yang memiliki kemampuan komunikasi tertulis dan lisan paling baik di antara keempat siswa lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari tiga domain literasi spasial, siswa hanya mampu mencapai semua indikator-indikator domain visualisasi dan penalaran. Sedangkan untuk indikator-indikator domain komunikasi, siswa hanya mencapai dua dari empat indikator.
