Abstract

Yosowilangun Village, located in Gresik Regency, is currently classified as an independent village, indicating the prosperity of its residents. However, there are still challenges in identifying and optimizing the village’s potential, particularly in recognizing its strengths and addressing weaknesses. Without a systematic approach to these issues, there is a risk of a decline in the village development index, potentially resulting in a downgrade of its status. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework offers a strategic pathway for achieving balanced and sustainable growth, with its core pillars emphasizing humanity, the environment, prosperity, peace, and partnerships. In collaboration with the officials of Yosowilangun Village, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia (STIESIA) Surabaya implemented a pilot project aimed at mapping and analyzing the village's potential. This project identified underutilized land, which has typically been used for cultural and artistic activities, as a valuable resource for local economic empowerment. By transforming this land into a venue for Small, and Medium Enterprise (SME) events, such as craft and culinary exhibitions, the village can create sustainable economic opportunities. The project also revealed that village officials allocate a significant portion of their financial resources to community empowerment programs. Their openness and willingness to collaborate facilitated constructive discussions, although their understanding of the SDGs framework remains limited. To bridge this gap, further data collection and analysis are required, focusing on key factors affecting land utilization based on SDGs principles. Moving forward, mentoring sessions aimed at formulating relevant policy recommendations and fostering stronger collaboration between the project team and village officials will be prioritized. These steps are essential to ensuring the success of the initiative and maintaining Yosowilangun's alignment with SDGs, while enhancing its development index.

Abstract

This study contributes to the academic understanding of how organizational ambidexterity mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and business performance among SMEs in East Java, Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach, data were gathered from 200 SME respondents through a semi-structured questionnaire. PLS-SEM was employed to analyze both direct and indirect effects. The results reveal that entrepreneurial orientation positively influences both exploration and exploitation dimensions of ambidexterity, which subsequently support improved business performance. The mediation analysis further indicates that ambidexterity plays a pivotal role in translating entrepreneurial posture into performance outcomes. These findings offer practical value for SME leaders by highlighting the importance of balancing short-term operational routines with longer-term adaptive initiatives to remain competitive in a changing business landscape.

Abstract

The challenges often faced by MSMEs are how to promote their products. The technology development nowadays encourages MSMEs to utilize several social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and websites as a promotional tool. The use of social media was believed can help expand the market. This is what is done by the Batik MSME in Juwet Kenongo Village, Sidoarjo Regency. However, the use of this technology is still not effective in increasing their sales. Batik sales are still dominated by orders and participation when attending exhibitions. This is due to the less-than-optimal strategy for utilizing social media. In addition, the storytelling aspect is still an obstacle when promoting on social media. Strengthening storytelling skills through a workshop is believed to be effective in helping MSMEs compose better story narratives. Besides that, this workshop is believed to be an urgent need for MSMEs. The focus of this community service is educational assistance related to compiling marketing through storytelling. MSMEs will be equipped with product narrative writing techniques. The assistance activities were welcomed by MSMEs. The participants were also cooperative and actively asked questions to the speakers. By participating in this training, MSMEs gain insight into the importance of strengthening the storytelling aspect in compiling interesting captions or narratives.

Abstract

This research discussed HRA’s impact on a company’s financial performance. Human Resource Accounting (HRA) is measured by using 16 indicators, while financial performance uses 4 indicators, which consist of return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), firm size, and leverage ratio. The analytical method used is binary logistic regression. The result shows that none of the HRA indicators affect ROA, while the other three are still affected by HRA indicators. Employment report indicators and other employee benefits in HRA indexes significantly affect ROE. Human resource policy, human resource development fund, and superannuation fund affect firm size the most. The last leverage ratio is significantly affected by human resource policy. This research has implications for manufacturing companies to increase information transparency for investors in the capital market through the sustainability disclosure of periodical HRA reports. Meanwhile, it is recommended that the government take action to encourage HRA disclosure for public companies in Indonesia by making the standards and regulations needed.

Abstract

Abstract

During a pandemic, the environment around employees is considered a virus carrier, which can endanger their lives. Employees also fear that they will carry the virus and infect their surroundings. This condition is called psychosocial stress. This study aims to prove empirically how psychosocial stress from the impact of COVID-19 can affect employee job satisfaction. Add the variables of job stress and job insecurity as the variables tested indirectly. This study uses a quantitative method with data from the snowball sampling technique on direct sales employees in Surabaya. Two hundred thirty seven samples are obtained. The findings show no direct effect between the psychosocial stress impact of COVID-19 on employee job satisfaction. However, adding indirect test variables, namely job insecurity and job stress, shows significant results. That is, explains that the characteristics of employees in Surabaya agree that they feel the effects of psychosocial stress due to COVID-19. However, these conditions do not affect whether they are satisfied or not at work. Nevertheless, when they feel insecure about their job, and there is stress from work, they feel unsatisfied. The findings of this research provide a theoretical contribution to managing employee stress management in the current turbulent times.

Abstract

Zulpah Batik SME in Tanjung Bumi faces significant challenges during the rainy season, as batik drying relies on sunlight, taking up to 5 hours in clear weather, 2 days in overcast conditions, and halting entirely during prolonged rainfall. Additionally, creating batik patterns using large fabrics is hindered by the absence of an adequate workspace, as the SME has only utilized standard writing desks. To address these issues, a batik drying cabinet powered by LPG and an ergonomic batik design table equipped with LED lighting were introduced. The drying cabinet reduces drying time to just 1 hour regardless of weather, with a controlled temperature of 70 ± 5°C, enabling continuous production. Meanwhile, the ergonomic design table, with adjustable height (76 cm standard) and dimensions of 122 cm x 200 cm, enhances pattern-making efficiency and precision. These appropriate technology solutions significantly improve production efficiency and quality, ensuring uninterrupted operations during the rainy season and facilitating better batik pattern creation.
