Abstract

Teenage girls are at risk of experiencing anemia because they menstruate every month. Anemia that is not treated immediately can negatively impact the short and long-term. In the long term, the impact of anemia can also affect pregnancy. Pregnancy with anemia will increase the risk of having a baby with a low birth weight and the risk that the child born will grow up to be stunted. So, women need to prevent anemia as early as possible. Education regarding the prevention of anemia has yet to be carried out at MTsS Pesantren Thawalib, and students have not taken Blood Supplement Tablets (BST) once a week. MTsS female students who menstruate every month are the right target group to be given education and health information related to preventing anemia. This service activity aims to increase female students' knowledge regarding anemia prevention. The methods used were counseling, putting up posters, giving BST, distributing pocketbooks, and distributing BST drinking calendars. The extension activities began with a pre-test and post-test to measure female students' knowledge before and after the education on anemia prevention. There was an increase in the average knowledge before 5.26 (pre-test) to 7.87 (post-test) after being given counseling with a p-value of 0.000. This shows that the anemia prevention education that has been carried out can increase the level of knowledge of female students. Students and schools should optimally utilize poster media, pocketbooks, and BST drinking calendars. With this service activity, female students can prevent anemia by regularly consuming BST once a week. Support is needed from MTsS Pesantren Thawalib Padang to monitor the student's compliance with BST consumption by checking the BST drinking calendar distributed to each student.

Abstract

A counseling program to increase knowledge and reduce stigma. The counseling program, themed 'Bersama Kita BAHAGIA,' aims to educate the community on how to avoid unwanted diseases and how to deal with diseases like HIV/AIDS properly. In 2021, Padang has seen a high number of HIV/AIDS cases, making this counseling program crucial in reducing the risk of this disease. The study involved administering a pre-test to the participants, providing them with educational materials, asking questions, and conducting a post-test. The purpose of the pre-test and post-test was to compare the participants' knowledge before and after receiving the educational materials. The study was conducted with 11 mothers who practice gymnastics in RW 4 Batang Arau Village. The educational materials used in the study included leaflets and posters. The results of the post-test showed an 18,19% increase in target knowledge compared to the pre-test results, indicating that counseling has a positive effect on community knowledge about HIV/AIDS.

Abstract

Bullying behavior is an aggressive attitude of a person or group that can hurt others physically and non-physically repeatedly. A person's goal in bullying is to show others that they are tough, strong and great. In Indonesia, in 2015, UNICEF reported an increase in violence against children and adolescents, with 26% of physical violence committed by parents and caregivers, 40% of physical bullying and 50% of incidents in schools. Socialization activities were carried out to partners, namely Public Alementary School 29 Pebayan Penggalangan, Padang Selatan Sub- District, who explained that the bullying case still did not exist, but also for socialization and education had never been carried out in the school environment. The purpose of this activity is to provide education about bullying to students so that there are no victims or perpetrators of bullying in the school environment. The method used in this activity is lecture. The method used in this activity is lecture. This activity began with filling out a pretest and then ending with filling out a post-test to measure students' knowledge about bullying. The questions given are sourced from the explanations delivered during the socialization. The results of this activity were that the results of the pretest were obtained by more than half of the students (70%) knew about bullying and the results of the post-test showed an increase in knowledge of 95%. The conclusion is that there is an increase in student discipline after receiving education about this bullying. This activity is expected so that students do not normalize bullying attitudes at school.

Abstract

Background: Violence directed at children refers to deliberate actions that cause physical or psychological harm, including neglecting their basic needs or inflicting physical harm. Increased cases of violence against women and children from 2019 to 2021. The number of reported cases of violence against children was recorded to have increased from 11,057 in 2019, 11,278 cases in 2020, and to 14,517 cases in 2021. The group that experienced violence based on education was at the elementary level , junior high and high school which are teenagers. In general, the factors that cause domestic violence can be classified into two factors, namely external factors and internal factors. This study was aimed at examining the relationship of knowledge, attitudes and experiences to the incidence of violence in adolescents in West Sumatra Province. Methods: This research adopts a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional design. As a sampling method, this study used purposive sampling for a total of 109 respondents using a questionnaire measuring instrument distributed using google form. Analysis of the data used in this study with univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using chi-square. Results: The results of the analysis show that some respondents have experienced violence, have a high level of knowledge, have a positive attitude, and have never experienced violence. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between attitudes and the incidence of violence with p-value = 0.001 and experience with violent incidents with p-value = 0.000. Conclusion: There is a relationship between attitudes and experiences towards the incidence of violence against adolescents in West Sumatra Province in 2022.
