Abstract

Entrance Surface Dose (ESD) is one of the units of quantity used in diagnostics to express the radiation dose received by the object (phantom or patient) measured at the centre of the main beam on the surface of the phantom or patient (UNSCEAR, 2010). According to Bushong (2008), the high kV technique states that to get the same optical density, with an increase in tube voltage (kV) of 15%, a 50% decrease in the mAs value is required. This study aims to calculate the ESD value if applied in the use of the high kV technique in lumbar irradiation using the Cobia Smart R/F measuring instrument. In this study, the authors applied the high kV technique using 65 kV and 16 mAs, 75 kV and 8 mAs, and 85 kV and 4 mAs. The dose value measured in the Cobia Smart R/F tool is then entered into the formula to calculate the Entrance Surface Dose (ESD) value. The results showed that the Entrance Surface Dose (ESD) produced at 65 kV, 75 kV, and 85 kV, respectively, were: 1.3597 mGy, 0.9728 mGy, and 0.7055 mGy. From the Diagnostic Reference Level (DRL) data released by BAPETEN in 2020, it is known that the DRL value for the Lumbar AP examination is 1.8 mGy. In this case, the high kV technique can minimize the dose to the examined object.

Abstract

Quality control is one part the program of quality assuranceor quality quality assurancewhich aims to carry out technical monitoring and maintenance so as not to reduce the quality of the resulting image and is alasi part of a quality assurance program related to instruments or aircraft use and equipment.The radiology Instalation of Kendal Islamic Hospital has several imaging modalities, including CTScan, Conventional radiography and ultrasonography. The conventional radiography aircraft owned by the hospital has the listem brand with a capacity of 150 mA. The last test of the exposure rate on the aircraft was carried out in August 2021 when the aircraft underwent repairs. The community service team wants to provide solutions to the problems experienced by partners, namely by providing conformity test services related to the rate of exposure to X-ray tube leaks. In addition, providing motivation to partners to routinely carry out conformity test so that the aircraft remains safe when used. The method of implementing the service is to carry out a conformity test procesure for X-ray tube leakage based on KMK No. 1250 regarding quality controlThe result of the measurement of the rate of radiation exposure at the patient’s entrance and exit were 34,12 mR/week. According to IAEA Safety Report No. 47, Radiation exposure occupied by radiation workers should not exceed 2,5 mR/hour (for controlled areas), while for theh general public is should not exceed 0,25 mR/hours (for uncontrolled areas).Keyword : exposure rate, examination room leak, RSI Kendal

Abstract

Radiografi Panoramic merupakan suatu alat penunjang yang dapat digunakan untuk mendiagnosis suatu kasus, seperti adanya fraktur rahang, evaluasi simetris atau asimetris dari TMJ ataupun mengetahui kedalaman karies. Radiografi Panoramic dapat digunakan sebelum dilakukannya suatu perawatan seperti melihat bentuk akar pada seluruh gigi dan mengetahui adanya kista. Manfaat utama dari radiografi dalam kedokteran gigi memungkinkan dokter gigi untuk mengidentifikasi segala kondisi yang mungkin tidak terdeteksi dan untuk melihat kondisi yang tidak dapat diidentifikasi secara klinis. Sehingga perlu dilakukannya edukasi dan sosialiasi kepada para calon tenaga Kesehatan khususnya mahasiswa keperawatan gigi mengenai pemeriksaan penunjang panoramic untuk menegakkan diagnose dalam pemeriksaan Kesehatan gigi. Adapun tujuan dalam kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai pemeriksaan penunjang panoramic untuk menegakkan diagnose dalam pemeriksaan Kesehatan gigi. Dari hasil pre test, dapat disimpulkan banyak mahasiswa yang belum paham mengenai pemeriksaan panoramic. Kemudian setelah diberikan materi mengenai pemeriksaan panoramic dan dilakukan post test, mahasiswa mulai paham dan bisa menjawab pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh penyaji. Sehingga dapat diketahui hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah audience mulai paham mengenai pemeriksaan panoramic dan manfaatnya dalam pelayanan pemeriksaan gigi. Serta menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan yang berkaitan dengan ilmu keperawatan gigi.
