Abstract

Stunting prevention must start as early as possible. Teenagers are expected to have a healthy lifestyle, and good nutrition and avoid early marriage. This is done to prevent giving birth to stunted children. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of snakes and ladders media and leaflets in preventing stunting at SMKN 01 Warungasem. The research method used is quasi-experimental with pre and post-design. With a population of 119 students. The sample used was purposive sampling. By collecting data through questionnaire interviews. Data analysis uses the Paired T-test. Results of statistical tests using the Paired T-test showed that the use of snakes and ladders educational media for knowledge resulted in a P value of 0.0001, while for attitudes a P value of 0.0001 was obtained. For leaflet media, the knowledge variable has a P value of 0.0001, while for attitude it has a P value of 0.0001. For the N Gain Score analysis, the Snakes and Ladders media effectiveness score results is in 64,43 % (enough) effective, while the effectiveness score results in increasing attitudes are 51,91% (less) effective, effectiveness score results using leaflet media is in the 54,98 % (less) effective, and media effectiveness score results for attitude is not effective 23,92. From the results above, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the average knowledge and attitude of using leaflets and snakes and ladders media as well as Snakes and Ladders media for Stunting Prevention which is proven to be more effective in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of teenagers. The recommendation given is the need for a comprehensive approach to education carried out by utilizing media that can raise the motivation of teenagers to know, want, be able and be independent to prevent stunting.

Abstract

The development of industry in Indonesia is currently very rapid. This is also accompanied by the risk of increasing and diverse dangers due to technological experts where the use of increasingly complex machines and work equipment to support the production process causes occupational health and safety problems. The same thing happened at PT. Gajah Duduk Pekalongan. This study focused on the scope of the preparation area, because this section has a great potential for work accidents. This study aims to determine efforts to assess and control hazards and risks at PT. Gajah Duduk. The method used is qualitative research. Data were obtained from the results of in-depth interviews and observations. Research Results: show the importance of the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and standard operating procedures (SOP) that the company has set. The company needs to emphasize job training institutions to obtain information and work systematically at the training stage for new employees. Conclusion: The production process in the preparation unit has not been running optimally. Several things can still be used as evaluation material for the company related to potential hazards that can endanger workers. Suggestion: Support is expected from various parties, PT. Gajah Duduk to protect every worker and increase company production

Abstract

The Profile of Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids, Mental and Psychomotor Development of Severe Malnutrition and Well-Nourished Children. It has been carried out the study to find the profile of omega-3, omega-6, mental and psychomotor development of severe malnutrition and well-nourished children. This study was cross-sectional study conducted on children suffering from severe malnutrition at Nutrition Clinic, Nutrition Research and Development Center, Bogor and well-nourished children from the same environment, age and sex. Thirty children of 6-24 months were collected consisting of 15 severe malnutrition children and 15 well-nourished children. Data collected were level of omega-3, omega-6 in blood, mental and psychomotor development, anthropometry, food consumption, food frequency and social economic conditions of the family. Results showed that the level of omega-3 and omega-6 of the severe malnutrition children were lower than those of the well-nourished children. The mental and psychomotor development measured with MDI and PDI scores for the severe malnutrition children were lower compared to the well-nourished children. Non-parametric analysis showed that the level of omega-3, omega-6, MDI and PDI of the severe malnutrition children was significantly difference (p<0,01) compared to the wll-nourished children. The ratio between level of omega-3 and omega-6 for the severe malnutrition children was less than 1/4. Coefficient correlation of ratio omega-3 and omega-6 with MDI and PDI was found 0,458 and 0,581 (p<0,01).Keywords: omega-3, omega-6, MDI, PDI, severe malnutrition

Abstract

Batik wastewater poses an environmental threat due to hazardous heavy metals like lead, cadmium, and chromium (Cr). This study investigated the effectiveness of SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast), a microbial consortium from kombucha production, in reducing Cr levels in batik wastewater. SCOBY is a promising biosorbent for heavy metals. The research aimed to assess SCOBY's ability to decrease Cr contamination in different types of batik wastewater (hand-drawn, stamped, and printed) over varying incubation times. Using a quasi-experimental approach, wastewater samples were collected from small and medium industries in Pekalongan City. Results showed that SCOBY effectively reduced Cr levels across all batik wastewater types and incubation periods. The most significant reduction occurred at 3 hours of incubation. Specifically, Cr levels decreased by 53% in hand-drawn batik wastewater, 44% in stamped batik wastewater, and an impressive 71% in printed batik wastewater. These findings suggest that SCOBY treatment is a viable and effective alternative for managing batik wastewater.
