Abstract

The product resulting from the powder metallurgy process has advantages in terms of mechanical properties and physical properties. Material engineering by mixing several types of metal powders is very possible to do. The composition of this powder metallurgical process material is a mixture of aluminum powder (80%), copper powder (15%) and silicon carbide powder (5%) by weight then compacted with a compaction load gradually, starting with a load of 3 tons, holding for 3 minutes, followed by a load of 3 tons. 4 tons were held for 3 minutes and the last 5 tons were held for 3 minutes by pre sintering 1250C. Sintering in the  kitchen with temperature variations of 4500C, 5000C and 5500C and sintering time for 60 minutes. Tests carried out on the specimens were hardness tests using the Rockwell (HRF) method. The results showed that the hardness of a single material has a hardness of around 35 HRF. The average hardness of the mixed material at a sintering temperature of 4500C is 80 HRF. The hardness of the mixed material at a sintering temperature of 5000C on average is 74 HRF. Meanwhile, the hardness of the mixed material at a sintering temperature of 5500C averaged 52 HRF. It can be concluded that the application of heat at the time of compaction and the selection of the sintering temperature greatly affect the hardness of the product resulting from the powder metallurgy process.

Abstract

Reducing fuel consumption and improving fuel quality in motorcycle engines are very important in order to make the exhaust gas emission from the engine becomes more environmentally friendly. In this study, a magnetic field is attached to the fuel line so that the fuel is affected by the magnetic field. The magnetic field is obtained from electromagnetic magnets and permanent magnets. Fuel consumption is tested on a motorcycle engine that it uses a carburetor system and on an engine that uses a fuel injection system. The exhaust emissions observed were CO and HC by using exhaust gas analyzer. The results showed that the use of a magnetic field mounted on the fuel line can reduce the fuel consumption of a motorcycle engine, using either a carborator system or a fuel injection system by an average of 18%. The use of magnetic fields also shows a very good effect in reducing exhaust gas emissions from motorcycle engines. The length of the magnet attached to the fuel line, 80mm provides a reduction in exhaust gas emissions of CO by 80% - 90% and HC by 60% - 77%. The percentage reduction in exhause gas emission is better than the other length of magnets.

Abstract

In line the population growth, technological developments and the increasing of vehicles, the necessary of fuel is increase. Therefore, the people try to find an alternative fuel that is ethanol as vehicle fuel. To increase the performance and efficiency to use of ethanol fuel in an engine is by varying the ignition timing.This research aimed to investigate the influence of ignition timing to torque, power and specific fuel consumption effective (SFCe) with 96% ethanol fuel. in an engine four stroke single cylinder 100 cc Honda Astrea Legenda. The  ignition timing variation are 15˚, 20˚ and 25˚ before TDC and the engine speed are 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 6000 rpm.The results show that the engine has better performance when the engine  running on the  ignition timing is advanced. The highest torque at 20˚ ignition time before TDC 0.868 kgf.m at 6000 rpm, the highest effective power at 20˚ ignition time before TDC of 7.272 ps at 6000 rpm, and the lowest SFCe at 20˚ ignition time before TDC is 0, 08 kg / PS.hour at 6000 rpm.

Abstract

The effort to increase fuel economy and to thrift the usage of fossil fuel is becoming main focus in the entire the world. One of those efforts is by using electromagnetic field in order to increase the quality of the combustion process and reducing fuel consumption.This research investigates the effect of the number of cooper wire winding on electromagnetic field on engine torque, engine power and fuel consumption of 100 cc four stroke single cylinder gasoline engine. The numbers of cooper wire windings are, 3000, 4000 and 4500. The engine performance was analyzed at several engine rotations. The result shows that there is an increase of engine power by 13% and on the other hand the fuel consumption reduced by 11% on 4000 windings at 6000 rpm.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian karakteristik viskositas kinematik, specific gravity, warna, kadar air dan volume hasil dari minyak pelumas hasil daur ulang untuk mengetahui variasi campuran optimal antara asam sulfat dengan tanah liat sebagai adsorben pada tahap clay treatment dan kemudian dibandingkan dengan lube base oil standar. Dari pengujian, menunjukkan bahwa campuran asam sulfat dan tanah liat terbukti efektif dalam memurnikan kembali minyak pelumas yang telah terkontaminasi (minyak pelumas bekas). Pada pengujian nilai viskositas kinematik yang mendekati dengan viskositas kinematik lube base oil diperoleh pada variasi campuran A10T400 dengan nilai 13.43 cSt, untuk Specific gravity yang mendekati dengan nilai lube base oil pada variasi campuran A10T300 dengan nilai 0.88983, untuk warna  didapatkan nilai L 4.1 pada variasi A15T500, kadar air terendah pada 0.000633 g/l pada variasi A5T500 dan volume hasil terbanyak didapatkan pada variasi campuran A10T300 yaitu 584.33 ml.

Abstract

Shortage of petroleum in Indonesia is a problem that triggers people to look for alternative fuels derived fuel. One of them is the use of LPG fuel as motorcycle fuel. And to improve the performance and efficiency of the use of LPG fuel in vehicles is one of them by varying the ignition timing.The aim of this study to explore the effect of ignition timing on the torque, power and specific fuel consumption effective (SFCE) with LPG fuel using converter kit on petrol engine four stroke single cylinder Honda Astrea Prima 100 cc. In this study, the ignition timing is varied at 15˚, 17˚, 19˚ and 21˚ before TDC and to set engine rotation at 1500 rpm, 2500 rpm, 3500 rpm and 4500 rpm.The results of the experiments conducted in this study show a better performance of the engine when the ignition timing advanced earlier. Highest torque at 17˚ before TDC is 0,507 kgf.m at 4500 rpm, the highest effective power at 17˚ before TDC is 3,183 PS at 4500 rpm, and the lowest SFCE at 17˚ before TDC is 0,084 kg / jam.PS at 4500 rpm.

Abstract

Desa Ungga, Kecamatan Praya Barat Daya, Lombok Tengah, merupakan sentra kerajinan perak yang mulai terkenal apalagi dengan adanya jalur Bypass bandara internasional Lombok. Produk  unggulan yaitu: Bros, cincin, giwang, tusuk konde, suweng (sejenis giwang), liontin, gelang, dan bros-liontin. Perhiasan-perhiasan itu berbahan kombinasi kulit kerang  mutiara yang dibentuk jadi oval, bundar, lonjong, segiempat, segitiga, dan setengah bundar kemudian di ikat / dibingkai dengan ornamen perak dikombinasi dengan mutiara sehingga menghasilkan produk kerajinan berkelas. Mitra PPM BOPTN dalam kegiatan yang diusulkan adalah JENs Creative,,, dengan pemilik Pak Jaelani,,,Permasalahan yang ditemui di tempat UKM di bidang produksi yaitu posisi kerja bagian pemolesan produk dilakukan dengan duduk bersila di lantai, sehingga kurang nyaman untuk kondisi kerja dalam waktu lebih dari 1 jam, Program PPM BOPTN ini telah berhasil memberi solusi kepada UKM atas ketidak nyamanan kerja saat pemolesan kerajinan perak dengan merancangkan dan mendesain meja poles yang bisa digunakan dengan nyaman oleh karyawan kerajinan perak sehingga tidak perlu duduk bersila lagi tetapi bisa duduk santai diatas kursi plastik berhadapan dengan mesin poles diatas meja poles yang dilengkapi dengan wadah penampung sisa-sisa perak yang lepas saat pemolesan sehingga perak yang mahal tersebut bisa digunakan kembali menjadi bahan baku baru untuk membuat produk kerajinan perak yang lain. itu perlu dicarikan solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yaitu merancang mesin poles yang dibuat berdasarkan konsep ergonomi dengan menggunakan data anthropometri  dari karyawan sehingga didapatlah ukuran Meja Mesin poles Kerajinan perak yang di rancang dengan konsep ergonomi ( dimensi : Tinggi meja 55 cm, tinggi Tutup atas meja 50 cm Panjang Meja 72 cm lebar meja 42 cm, sudah dilengkapi dengan grinda poles Kata kunci ; mesin poles, ergonomi, kerajinan perak

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini melibatkan karyawan UD. ICM yang sehari-harinya bekerja baik di bengkel maupun di lokasi proyek. Permasalahan kecelakaan kerja seperti luka pada jari dan tangan, terbentur benda keras, luka bakar dan jenis kecelakaan lainnya sering kali terjadi dan mengganggu produktivitas kerja. Hal ini disadari karena rendahnya pemahaman tentang keselamatan kerja di bengkel, abai akan keselamatan kerja sehingga berimbas pada tingginya kecelakaan kerja yang pada akhirnya menurunkan produktivitas kerja. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini pada dasarnya adalah meningkatkan kesadaran para pekerja akan pentingnya pemahanan bahaya dan meningkatkan kepedulian terhadap keselamatan kerja.. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode simulasi dan praktek langsung sehingga lebih mudah dipahami yang muaranya agar setiap pekerja membiasakan diri mengendalikan resiko bahaya di tempat kerja mereka masing-masing. Dalam kegiatan ini diawali dengan memberikan pemahaman dan pengenalan potensi bahaya, mengidentifikasi resiko dilanjutkan dengan pengendalian resiko dan terakhir mengenai penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD) Hasil dari evaluasi yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini ddidapat bahwa terjadinya peningkatan tingkat pemahaman para pekerja dari yang sebelumnya 33,64% menjadi 95,45% seteah mengikuti pelatihan. Tingkat pemahaman resiko bahaya yang paling rendah yaitu 20% di mana kemampuan mengenali bahaya sangat rendah dan tingkat sedang yaitu sebesar 50%. Sedangkan untuk evaluasi kepatuhan penggunaan alat pelindung diri juga meningkat dari 24% menjadi 96% setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Tingkat kepatuhan penggunaan APD ini masih harus selalu ditekankan melalui upaya saling mengingatkan.

Abstract

Escalating the quality of human resources is an important part of the development process of a nation. The quality of human resources is a major factor to support the nation's competitiveness in the global competition. Moreover, Indonesia as a developing country is facing the complexity of the problems based on destitution, lagging behind of education, economy, culture and high levels of unemployment and other social problems.            Based on the above consideration, its need to pay a serious attention on the development of the young generation to guide and provide them by vocational skills that is able to empowering them towards more productive direction. Skills education and welding training are conducted in conjunction with youth groups. The target of this project is the community in general, especially the youth. At the end of this project, it is desirable that the skills gained from this welding training can be used in generating their own job.
