Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of literacy skills on students' critical thinking skills. This research type is a correlational study to know the relationship between literacy skills and students' critical thinking skills. The total population is 168 students, and the level of precision is set at 10%. A sample of 63 respondents will be obtained, taken using a simple random sampling technique. The data analysis used in this study is a simple regression analysis with the product-moment correlation coefficient formula. The results showed that literacy skills positively correlate with students' critical thinking skills by 80%. It shows that besides literacy, there are still 20% of other factors that can affect students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa dalam pemecahan masalah pada  mata kuliah matematika SMP berdasarkan kecerdasan logis-matematis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif jenis studi kasus. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester III Universitas PGRI Madiun. Teknik analisis datanya terdiri dari tiga alur yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta teknik keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan kognitif dalam pemecahan masalah (1) mahasiswa dengan kecerdasan logis-matematis tinggi memiliki kemampuan mengingat, memahami, menerapkan, menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta dengan baik. (2) mahasiswa dengan kecerdasan logis-matematis sedang memiliki kemampuan mengingat, memahami, menerapkan, menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta dengan cukup baik (3) mahasiswa dengan kecerdasan logis-matematis kategori rendah memiliki kemampuan mengingat, memahami, menerapkan, menganalisis kurang baik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' difficulties in solving mathematical problems based on mathematical logic intelligence. The population of this research is the fourth-semester students of Mathematics Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun, totaling 52. While the subjects of this research are 3 students based on mathematical logic intelligence. The subject is taken by one student each from high, medium, and low mathematical logic intelligence. This research is descriptive qualitative research using the triangulation technique. Data collection techniques used are tests, interviews, and documentation. Instruments in the form of advanced mathematical material tests and tests of mathematical logic intelligence. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The conclusion in this study is that subjects who have high mathematical logic intelligence have no difficulty in working on problems, subjects of mathematical logic intelligence are having difficulty at the stage of re-examining their answers, and subjects of low mathematical logic intelligence have difficulty in solving problems properly and have not been able to re-examine the answers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika berdasarkan kecerdasan logika matematika. Populasi penelitian ini mahasiswa semester IV Pendidikan Matematika Universitas PGRI Madiun yang berjumlah 52. Sedangkan subjek penelitian ini adalah 3 mahasiswa berdasarkan kecerdasan logika matematika. Subjek tersebut diambil masing-masing satu mahasiswa dari kecerdasan logika matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Instrumen berupa tes materi matematika lanjut dan tes kecerdasan logika matematika. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah subjek yang memiliki kecerdasan logika matematika tinggi tidak mengalami kesulitan dalam mengerjakan soal, subjek kecerdasan logika matematika sedang kesulitan pada tahap memeriksa kembali jawabannya dan subjek kecerdasan logika matematika rendah kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal dengan baik dan belum mampu memeriksa kembali jawabannya.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-learning tool based on video presentations to enhances attitudes, skills and pedagogical knowledges of prospective teacher students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is Research and Design (R & D) using the Plomp development model, which consists of 3 stages: a preliminary study, design, and assessment. Data collection was carried out through observation, device validation, distribution of response questionnaires, and assessment of student learning outcomes. The results of the data analysis show that at the preliminary study stage, it was found that there were still no devices that supported learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. At the stage of design was designed, including RPS, LMS Settings, and Video Presentations. At the assessment stage, it was found that all the tools developed had valid criteria, students gave a positive response to the small and broad trials respectively of 97.68%; 98.32% so that the tools developed were included in practical criteria. The assessment of learning outcomes in the aspects of attitudes, skills, and knowledge had average completeness on the small and broad trials respectively of 82.92%; 86.99% so that the equipment used was included in the effective criteria. Thus the device developed can be said to be feasible because it meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The development of e-learning based on video presentations can be used to enhance attitudes, skills, and pedagogical knowledge of prospective mathematics teacher students.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis diperlukan dalam memahami matematika dan dalam menyelesaikan masalah sehari-hari, mahasiswa memerlukan. Kemampuan Indonesia di dunia pendidikan dalam bidang matematika masih sangat rendah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penalaran matematis mahasiswa dengan kemampuan berpikir intuitif sedang dalam memecahkan masalah analisis real. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes tulis dan wawancara. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa mahasiswa dengan kemampuan berpikir intuitif sedang pada pemecahan masalah analisis real memiliki kecenderungan melaksanakan penalaran matematis dengan kurang sempurna. Mahasiswa dengan kemampuan berpikir intuitif sedang tidak mampu melaksanakan penalaran matematis pada tahap pemecahan masalah menyelesaikan masalah sesuai rencana dan melakukan pengecekan kembali. Mathematical reasoning capability is needed in the understanding of mathematics and in the problem solving of daily activity, student need. Indonesian education capability in mathematics is low. Based on that fact, the aim of this research is for knowing student mathematical reasoning with medium intuitive thinking capability in the problem solving of real analysis. This research uses qualitative method with the kind of method is qualitative descriptive. Data resource that is used in this research is student. Data collecting technique is done by using writing test and interview. Data analysis in this research is done by data reduction, data display, and data verification. Based on research result is gotten conclusion that student with medium intuitive thinking capability in the problem solving of real analysis can do mathematical reasoning less completely. Student with medium intuitive thinking capability cannot do mathematical reasoning in every step solving problem based on plan and doing answer checking .

Abstract

The use of ICT became important after the government through a circular letter from the Minister of Education and Culture regarding the call for the implementation of online learning to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. Each educational institution including Universities PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) also issued a policy to conduct online learning in providing educational services. This research is descriptive qualitative because it is used to analyze the quality of learning in mathematics education study program through video-based eLMA. Data was collected by means of learning evaluation questionnaires and learning observations of basic mathematics studies, introduction to education, field geometry, and numerical methods. The Data analysis was carried out by reducing, presenting and drawing conclusions about the quality of learning in mathematics education study programs through video-based eLMA. The results of the study quality research showed that the results of the learning evaluation conducted by 4 lecturers who were in charge of basic mathematics studies, introduction to education, field geometry, and numerical methods were categorized as very good with successive scores of 3.65; 3.74; 3.64 and 3.68. The results of the observations of the internal quality assurance team also stated that the learning quality of the four courses was included in good criteria with recommendations maintained.

Abstract

 Abstract: Mathematical reasoning ability is needed by students both in the process of understanding mathematics and in everyday life context. In fact, Indonesian students’ ability in the field of mathematics is still very low. Referring to the fact, this study is attempted to determine students' mathematical reasoning in solving real analysis problems based on their ability to think intuitively. This study is a qualitative descriptive research. The data sources in this study are college students. Data are collected through written tests and interview. Data analysis in this study is carried out by stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that (1) Students with high intuitive thinking skills in real analysis problem solving have a tendency to implement mathematical reasoning perfectly. They are able to carry out mathematical reasoning at each stage of solving real analysis problems. (2) Students with medium intuitive thinking ability in solving real analysis problem have a tendency to implement mathematical reasoning less perfectly. They are not able to carry out mathematical reasoning at the stage of solving problems according to plan and re-checking it again. (3) Students with low intuitive thinking skill in solving real analysis problem have a tendency to implement mathematical reasoning imperfectly. They are unable to carry out mathematical reasoning at the stage of planning solution and solving problem.Keywords:mathematical reasoning, solving problem, intuitive.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis matematis merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, untuk meningkatkan  berpikir kritis siswa diperlukan pembelajaran yang tepat. Brain based learning merupakan salah satu alternatif pembelajaran yang mampu mengoptimalkan sistem kerja otak siswa sehingga dapat membantu siswa untuk memahami, menyelesaikan masalah dan menerapkan materi tersebut. Sehingga jika sistem kerja otak siswa bisa optimal maka dapat berpikir kritis dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika.Kata kunci: Brain Based Learning, Berpikir Kritis Matematis

Abstract

Distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic caused students' learning motivation to decrease. For this reason, an interesting learning process is needed, one of which is by applying game-based learning.This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility of an Android-based edutainment game learning media on the Pythagorean theorem material for junior high school students. This type of research is Research and Development (RD) using the ADDIE development model, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research was conducted at MTs Muttaqien PSM Takeran in June 2021. The results of the research on the development of android-based edutainment game learning media include 1) Android-based edutainment game learning media meets the validity criteria with the combined validation average score by the media validator of 84.10% and is included in the fairly valid category, 2) Edutainment game learning media android-based meet the practicality criteria obtained from the average results of filling out student response questionnaires of 87.50% and is included in the very practical category, 3) Android-based edutainment game learning media meets the effectiveness criteria obtained from student learning outcomes tests with a score of N- The gain is 62.32% and is included in the medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that the Android-based edutainment game learning media is feasible to use in learning mathematics on the Pythagorean theorem material. The results of this study provide a contribution in the form of an Android-based edutainment game learning media that is used as an alternative in the learning process.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi matematika merupakan kemampuan siswa dalam merumuskan, menerapkan serta menafsirkan ilmu matematika untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika dengan tipe HOTS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskripstif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian adalah  31 siswa kelas VIII  SMPN 1 Geger Kabupaten Madiun Jawa Timur. Subjek ditentukan berdasarkan hasil tes kemampuan literasi matematika dalam penyelesaian soal HOTS tentang Pythagoras. Subjek dipilih berdasarkan jawaban siswa yang paling benar dan lengkap. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dalam penyelesaian soal tipe HOTS meliputi kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir dan bernalar matematis, komunikasi matematis, pemodelan, pengajuan dan pemecahan masalah, representasi, simbol, serta penggunaan alat dan teknologi. Mathematical literacy skills is the ability of students to formulate, apply and interpret mathematics to solve problems in everyday life. This study aims to explore and describe students' mathematical literacy skills in solving math problems with the HOTS type. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using tests and interviews. The research subjects were students of class VIII SMPN 1 Geger, Madiun Regency, East Java. Subjects were determined based on the results of the mathematical literacy ability test in solving the HOTS questions about Pythagoras. Subjects were selected based on the students' most correct and complete answers. The results of this study indicate that students' mathematical literacy abilities in solving HOTS type Pythagorean questions include students' abilities in thinking and reasoning mathematically, mathematical communication, modeling, proposing and solving problems, representation, symbols, use of tools and technology
