Abstract

The use of ICT became important after the government through a circular letter from the Minister of Education and Culture regarding the call for the implementation of online learning to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. Each educational institution including Universities PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) also issued a policy to conduct online learning in providing educational services. This research is descriptive qualitative because it is used to analyze the quality of learning in mathematics education study program through video-based eLMA. Data was collected by means of learning evaluation questionnaires and learning observations of basic mathematics studies, introduction to education, field geometry, and numerical methods. The Data analysis was carried out by reducing, presenting and drawing conclusions about the quality of learning in mathematics education study programs through video-based eLMA. The results of the study quality research showed that the results of the learning evaluation conducted by 4 lecturers who were in charge of basic mathematics studies, introduction to education, field geometry, and numerical methods were categorized as very good with successive scores of 3.65; 3.74; 3.64 and 3.68. The results of the observations of the internal quality assurance team also stated that the learning quality of the four courses was included in good criteria with recommendations maintained.

Abstract

This development research aims to analyze the level of validity, effectiveness, and practicality of the RME-based learning modules as well as how the modules can improve the mathematical literacy skills of grade XI students. Modules are teaching materials that can help students in the learning process. The ability of mathematical literacy is the ability to apply mathematics to mathematical problems in everyday life. In this study, researchers used the RME approach where an approach that connects mathematics in everyday life problems. So that the availability of this module can help students improve their mathematical literacy skills. RME-based modules are said to be feasible to use if they meet three criteria, namely valid, practical, and effective. In the results of the research analysis, 1) the module was declared very valid after a revision with a large percentage of 93.00%, 2) with an average student questionnaire response results 88.67 in the limited test and 77.67 in the field test so that the module was declared practical, then 3) completeness of student learning (CSL) of 98.00 in the limited test with effective criteria and 90.00 in the field test with effective criteria. In addition, the Personalized Gain Test is used to find out how effective RME-based learning modules can improve students' mathematical literacy skills. 4) The results of the analysis of the Gain test stated 0.80 with high information. This means that RME-based learning modules are truly said to be effective in increasing students' mathematical literacy ability.

Abstract

Mathematical Literacy ability has important for prospective mathematics teachers. It is closely related to Computational Thinking (CT). The aim of this study is to produce CT-students worksheets to improve the mathematical literacy of prospective mathematics teachers. The development study using model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Thirty-seven would-be maths teachers participated in the study's sixth semester. Subject criteria are students who are not familiar with CT. The instruments in this study were CT-based student worksheets, validation sheets, student response questionnaires, pre-test and post-test questions. The results showed that CT-based student worksheets met the criteria of valid (validity percentage of 84.5%), practical (practicality percentage of 88.68%), and effective (N-gain value of 46.91%). Based on these results, it's appropriate to conclude that CT-based student papers can help students who want to become math teachers learn more about math. Recommendations for further research can be made on the development of a wider material and a wider subject as well.

Abstract

The low mathematical literacy is influenced by internal student factors. One that influences is the cognitive style of students. This study aims to describe students' mathematical literacy abilities with field-independent (FI) and field-dependent (FD) cognitive styles on linear program materials.  This research is qualitative.  The subjects of this study were class X MM PKM students of SMK Cendekia Madiun for the 2021/2022 Academic Year, as 16 students. The data were analyzed descriptively.  To group students using GEFT questionnaires and data collection techniques using a test for describing mathematical literacy skills and using interviews.   The result of this study is that students with a Field Independent (FI) cognitive style master the following aspects of literacy ability:  communication skills, mathematical abilities, representation abilities, reasoning and argument skills, problem-solving strategy skills, ability to use language and symbol operations, formal and technical.  Meanwhile, students with a Field Dependent (FD) cognitive style master the following aspects of literacy: communication skills, mathematical skills, representation abilities, problem-solving strategy skills, ability to use language and symbol operations, formal and technical. This research is limited only by 2 students. In the future, it is necessary to conduct research involving more students with different materials.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan modul interaktif berbasis inkuiri pada materi barisan dan deret yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa.  Penelitian ini merupaka penelitian pengembangan dengan metode ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK Negeri 2 Jiwan pada siswa kelas X tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul interaktif berbasis inkuiri dikatakan valid dengan hasil validasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi sebesar 93%. Modul interaktif berbasis inkuiri juga mendapatkan respon positif dari siswa dengan persentase sebesar 74,44% pada uji coba terbatas dan persentase sebesar 74,38% pada uji coba lapangan, sehingga modul dapat dikategorikan praktis. Modul interaktif berbasis inkuiri juga dikategorikan efektif dengan hasil persentase sebesar 76,33% pada uji coba terbatas dan mendapatkan hasil persentase sebesar 82,71% pada uji coba lapangan. Keefektifan modul interaktif juga didukung dari hasil kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang meningkat dibandingkan sebelum menggunakan modul interaktif berbasis inkuiri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut modul interaktif berbasis inkuiri layak digunakan pada pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran adalah kemampuan menyajikan pernyataan matematika secara tertulis, menyusun argumen, memberikan bukti/solusi dan menarik kesimpulan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran siswa SMP dalam memecahkan aritmatika sosial berbasis etnomatematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas VII SMPN 1 Jiwan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen lembar tes kemampuan penalaran matematis yaitu lembar soal tes uraianvdan pedoman wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan triangulasi metode. Adapun indikator penalaran yaitu (1) kemampuan menyajikan pernyataan matematika secara tertulis (2) kemampuan menyusun argumen (3) kemampuan memberikan bukti/solusi, (4) kemampuan menarik kesimpulan. Kesimpulan hasil dari penelitian ini (1) siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan penalaran matematika tinggi memenuhi keempat indikator penalaran, (2) siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan penalaran matematika sedang memenuhi tiga indikator penalaran yakni kemampuan menyajikan pernyataan matematika secara tertulis, kemampuan menyusun argumen  dan kemampuan menarik kesimpulan, (3) siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan penalaran matematika rendah memenuhi satu indikator penalaran.

Abstract

Curriculum development is one of the systemic changes that can improve and support learning. The Merdeka Curriculum is one of the Ministry of Education and Culture's efforts to overcome learning loss due to the long pandemic that hampered the education process. The Independent Curriculum allows every student to develop according to their individual needs and potential. Assuming that there are various policies in both the old and new curriculum, this is one thing that is not explained enough. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the challenges teachers face in implementing the Independent Curriculum. This research uses document analysis methods. The findings of this study indicate a high workload due to work and a lack of ongoing training. Apart from that, teachers also have difficulty encouraging students to learn. This study concludes that increasing teacher capacity through structured and ongoing training programs is very important to support the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Despite the increasing emphasis on Computational Thinking (CT) in primary education, limited research has examined how CT can be systematically developed through mathematics learning trajectories situated in authentic sustainability contexts. This study aimed to design and validated a Computational Thinking Learning Trajectory (CTLT) that integrates four CT practices—Data Practices, Modeling and Simulation, Computational Problem-Solving, and Systems Thinking—through renewable energy optimization projects in primary mathematics classrooms. Using a design research approach, the study was conducted in three phases: preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. Participants were 30 fourth-grade students (aged 9–10 years) from an primary school in Madiun, Indonesia. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected through observations, interviews, student artifacts, and assessment rubrics to investigate the emergence of CT practices during learning activities. The results, derived from rubric attainment scores and supported by qualitative evidence, showed that all CT practices emerged during learning activities, with Modeling and Simulation (93.3%), Computational Problem-Solving (83.3%), Data Practices (80%), and Systems Thinking (70%) demonstrating substantial levels of attainment. Students demonstrated a progression from arithmetic reasoning toward algorithmic and systems-oriented thinking as they analyzed data, constructed models, evaluated alternative renewable energy solutions, and optimized decision-making processes. The validated learning trajectory provides empirical evidence of how sustainability-based mathematical projects can support the development of CT in primary education. These findings contribute to the growing body of research on CT integration in mathematics curricula and offer practical guidance for implementing project-based learning within the Indonesian Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop the Energy Teaching Kit as a learning medium to enhance elementary students’ computational thinking skills in science learning. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design, utilizing the ADDIE model, which comprises the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The participants were elementary school students from both public and private schools in Madiun City. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires during the implementation phase. The results indicate that the developed medium achieved a validity score of 86%, demonstrating that its content, structure, and functionality meet expert criteria. The practicality level reached 87.05%, indicating that the medium is easy to use and has been positively received by teachers and students. Its effectiveness is supported by an N-gain score of 52.76%, indicating a moderate level of improvement in students’ computational thinking skills. Overall, these findings confirm that the Energy Teaching Kit is valid, practical, and effective for classroom use. Future research may examine its integration with digital sensors, its scalability across different grade levels, and the support it provides for teacher professional development to optimize implementation.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah dengan menggunakan teka-teki pecahan sebagai alat pengajaran akan membantu siswa kelas tiga di SDN 4 Mrayan pada tahun pelajaran 2022-2023 lebih memahami gagasan pecahan. Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dan terdiri dari empat tahap: persiapan, tindakan, evaluasi, dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dengan masing-masing siklus 1 kali pertemuan. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 3 SDN 4 Mrayan yang berjumlah 16 orang yang terdiri dari 7 laki-laki dan 9 perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pengumpulan data observasi dan tes sebagai metode utamanya dan teknik analisis data berupa analisis kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I ketuntasan siswa 75%, pada siklus II ketuntasan 87,5%, dan pada siklus III ketuntasan 100%. Hasilnya, dapat dikatakan bahwa siswa kelas III SDN 4 Mrayan yang menggunakan teka-teki pecahan sebagai alat pembelajaran memiliki pemahaman konsep yang lebih dalam secara keseluruhan.
