Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penerapan suplemen buku siswa berbasis scientific approach terhadap hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah pada materi dinamika gerak. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA 1 dan siswa kelas X IPA 2 SMAN 15 Bandarlampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan tipe penelitian pretest-posttest control group design. Data yang didapat kemudian diuji dengan analisis N-gain, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji independent sampel t-test, dan analisis effect size Cohen’s D. Rata-rata N-gain hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen 0,75 dan kelas kontrol 0,62. Rata-rata N-gain sikap ilmiah pada kelas eksperimen 0,32 dan kelas kontrol 0,23. Hasil uji beda N-gain hasil belajar menunjukkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) yaitu 0,001. Hasil uji beda N-gain sikap ilmiah siswa menunjukkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) yaitu 0,000. Nilai sig. (2-tailed) pada hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah yang kurang dari 0,05 menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan suplemen buku siswa berbasis scientific approach terhadap hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah siswa. Nilai effect size hasil belajar ialah 0,88 dan sikap ilmiah ialah 1,34. Berdasarkan nilai rata-rata N-gain siswa kelas eksperimen yang lebih tiggi dari kelas kontrol dan effect size yang diperoleh, maka suplemen buku siswa berbasis scientific approach dapat digunakan untuk membantu meningkatkan hasil belajar sikap ilmiah siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach to the improvement of critical thinking skills using Problem Based Learning (PBL) models. The population of the research was all of the 10th grade IPA students in SMA Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung which were 233 students. The selection of research sample used a purposive sampling technique with the sample of class X IPA 5 that consisted of 31 students as the experimental group and the class X IPA 6, which was 30 students, as the control group. The research design used Non-Equivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Data were tested by N-gain analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, Mann-Withney U Test Effect size test. The results showed that there was a significant  effect of the STEM approach in improving critical thinking skills as indicated by the Sig. (2-Tailed), which was less than 0.05, 0.000, and the average value of N-gain (g) critical thinking skills in the experimental class was 0.73 (high category) while the control class was 0.56 (medium category). Effect size showed a value (d) of 1.49 included in high category. It can be concluded that the application of STEM approach using PBL learning model can improve students critical thinking skills. Implications of the study are discussed. The use of the STEM approach using PBL learning model can be used as an alternative for teachers as an effort to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning terhadap kreativitas siswa pada materi energi terbarukan: Turbin Axis Horizontal dan Kincir Air. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XII IPA SMA Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung, dengan sampel kelas XII sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XII sebagai kelas kontrol. Desain penelitian yaitu Posttest Only Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian diuji menggunakan Independent Sample T-Test dan Effect Size. Hasil penelitian yaitu kelas kontrol dengan model pembelajaran konvensional memiliki nilai rata-rata kreativitas sebesar 42% dengan kategori kurang kreatif, sedangkan kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning memiliki nilai rata-rata kreativitas sebesar 72% dengan kategori kreatif. Hasil uji Effect Size diperoleh nilai cohen’s d sebesar 3,40 dan nilai effect size r sebesar 0,86 dengan kategori tinggi. Kesimpulannya yaitu terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning terhadap kreativitas siswa pada materi energi terbarukan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using POE-based worksheets on student’s learning outcomes of physics in the material of impulses and momentum at SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung. The research population was all students of class X MIA. The design of this study uses True Experimental Design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design type. The research sample in this study was class X MIA1 and X MIA2 with relatively similar initial abilities so that the Simple Purposive Sampling technique was used. The independent sample t-test results showed a significance value of 0,000 for cognitive, psychomotor learning outcomes through questions and through practical performance so that the use of POE-based worksheets on impulses and momentum material had a significant effect on student learning outcomes. The magnitude of the effect obtained from the results of the effect size test (Cohen d) is 2,18 for the cognitive domain; 1,34 and 1,21 for the psychomotor domain (high category). This means that the use of POE-based worksheet in this study has a large effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Students 'ability to understand the concept of physics is still weak, so it is necessary to use learning resources that are able to improve students' conceptual understanding. This study aims to determine the effect of android-based multimedia modules on understanding the physics concepts of high school students in static fluid material. The sample of this study was students of class XI MIA 1 and XI MIA 2 of SMA 1 Raman Utara. This study was conducted using the type of pretest-posttest control group design. The data obtained were then tested by N-gain analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and effect size test. Data from the study were collected using pretest and posttest with conceptual understanding indicators. The results show that there is an influence of the use of multimedia modules on understanding students' concepts in static fluid material. The results of the study obtained an average N-gain score of the experimental class and control class of 0.54 and 0.31 with the medium category and the effect size value of 2.8 with a large category. The results of different tests using independent sample t-test <0.05 showed that there were significant differences in students' ability to understand concepts using using multimedia-based android modules and students using print modules.

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of POE learning model on science process skills of high school students in the material of Newton’s Law motion. The study might benefit to a provide different learning experience that makes students become more active in learning and to improve students' science process skills towards the material being taught. The populations in this study were all students of class IPA X of SMA 5 Bandar Lampung in the even semester of the Academic Year 2018/2019, consisting of 6 classes with a total of 203 students, with samples of class X IPA 1 as the experimental class and X IPA 2 as the control class. Research method of the study was quasi-experimental. The research used a pretest-posttest control group design. The result of the study revealed that the control class using the conventional learning model had an average N-gain of 0.42, while the experimental class using the POE learning model had an average N-gain of 0.72. The effect size in this study, which was 0.71, indicated that the POE learning model has a high effect in this study.  Based on the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that there was an effect of applying the POE learning model to students' science process skills in the material of Newton's Law. The magnitude of the influence of the POE learning model was classified into the high category with the Cohen’s d value of 3.40 and the effect size r of 0.71.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Schoology-assisted inquiry-based student worksheets on Newton's Law II material on students’ learning outcomes. The population in the study were all students of class X IPA. There are only two classes of X IPA at SMA Yadika Bandar Lampung, so the two classes were used as controlled and experimented classes. Controlled and experimented classes were chosen randomly, so it was determined that class X IPA 1 was the controlled class and X IPA 2 was the experimented class. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group research design. The experimented class used a Schoology-assisted inquiry-based student worksheet, while the controlled class was given conventional learning. The two classes were given a different treatment, the experimented class implemented learning using guided inquiry-based worksheets, and the controlled class used a learning model that the physics teacher had implemented in the class. Before and after learning in both classes, five questions with HOTS level were given so that pretest and posttest data would be obtained as learning outcomes data. The data were analyzed by three tests: N-Gain, Independent Sample T-Test, and Effect Size Test. Based on the results of data analysis, there was an increase in cognitive learning outcomes in the controlled class, which was 0.21 included in the low category, while learning outcomes of the experimented class increase were 0.47 included in the moderate category. Besides that, the independent sample T-Test earned a value of sig. 2-tailed of 0.000, so it can be seen that there was an effect of using guided inquiry-based worksheets assisted by Schoology on Newton's Second Law towards students’ learning outcomes. In addition, the effect size test results showed a moderate category, so it can be concluded that Schoology-assisted inquiry-based student worksheet on Newton's second law material affects student learning outcomes. Based on the effect size test, the cohend's d value was 0.98 with a large category. This proved that the use of Schoology-assisted inquiry-based student worksheets had a moderate effect on students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic forces the learning process to be carried out in a blended learning manner that combines face-to-face and synchronous learning.This study aims to share the implementation of experiments that we have carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially on optics material for high schools involving prospective physics teacher students. This study uses a descriptive research method with the research subject being Physics Education students, FKIP University of Lampung, with a sample of 2017 Physics Education students who are taking Optics lectures.The results of this study are in the form of optical learning media that have been designed by students while attending lectures with distinctive characteristics made from low cost material and using simple technologies. This study proves that physics experiments can be carried out by utilizing learning media in the form of low-cost material teaching aids. In addition, physics experiments can be carried out directly without a complicated preparation.
