Abstract

Smallholder goat farmers in Jabung Village, Malang Regency, face significant challenges related to manual milking, including prolonged labor time and limited access to appropriate technologies. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a portable, battery-powered milking device in enhancing labor efficiency, technical knowledge, and economic outcomes for these farmers. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the research involved 50 farmers through a baseline survey, co-design process, a six-hour training session, and follow-up evaluation. The results showed that the device reduced the average milking time for five goats from 64 ± 4 minutes to 55 ± 3 minutes, indicating a 14% improvement. Farmers’ technical knowledge also increased significantly, from 42% to 85% after training. User satisfaction was high, averaging 4.2 out of 5, with women reporting greater ergonomic benefits. Economically, the device demonstrated an eight-month payback period based on a milk price of 12,000 Indonesian Rupiah per liter. Furthermore, 80% of farmers were able to operate the device independently after training. These findings suggest that the device holds strong potential to improve smallholder productivity and resilience, contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 7. However, limitations include the small sample size and the absence of data on milk quality, indicating the need for broader, long-term research.

Abstract

In various industrial applications, the use of a power supply that uses a conventional diode single-phase rectifier topology results in high harmonic values in the electricity distribution system. One of the real impacts of this harmonic value is the heating of the electric power system equipment and power losses. High rms current values due to harmonics often cause problems in protection settings in addition to efficiency problems. The percentage value between the total harmonic component and the fundamental component is called THD (Total Harmonic Distortions). Therefore, in this study an asynchronous dcdc boost converter is connected to the output side of a singlephase diode rectifier which is capable of improving power factor and low harmonics. So that a THD value of less than 15%, PF (Power Factor) = 0.92-1 and a sinusoidal input current can be obtained. The implementation results show that the PFC (Power Factor Correction) method can work well on single-phase diode rectifiers.

Abstract

In the current reality, it is found that students are only able to memorize theories and formulas without being able to apply them. This encourages research so that students are not only able to memorize theories, but are also able to relate and apply theories and formulas to their daily problems. The Jigsaw method was developed by Elliot Aronson and his colleagues and later adopted by Slavin and his friends. In practice, students are divided into small groups consisting of 4-5 members. Each group (team) consists of heterogeneous members, both gender, race, academic ability, and other social status. Academic materials are given to groups of students in the form of text; and each student is responsible for studying a part of the text or academic material. Furthermore, each student who is responsible for a certain section gathers to form a new group called the expert group. After each student gathered in the expert group finished discussing the topic according to their section, they returned to the home team to teach other students in their group about the material that had been studied in the expert group. After meetings and discussions were held in the home group, the students were evaluated individually regarding the material that had been studied. The author's previous research with the title still has not succeeded in exceeding the minimum score of 65 out of a score of 100, because it has only reached a score of 56.20. Therefore, this research needs to be continued. After taking the action 4 times, it turned out that there was an increase in the score, even though the minimum score target (65 out of a perfect score of 100) had not been met.

Abstract

The research aims to describe how the structured task needs to be formulated and the extent to which it has an impact on improving student achievement. This research is based on Vygotsky's view which states that the potential of students will develop effectively if in the learning carried out, external factors, especially teachers/lecturers and students' friends are involved in learning. Cooperative learning is a learning system that contains various interrelated elements, including: (1) positive interdependence, (2) faceto-face interaction, (3) individual accountability, and (4) skills to establish interpersonal relationships. Structured task-based learning as a form of cooperative learning consists of 4 principles, namely: (1) Making assignments meaningful, clear, and challenging, (2) Diversifying assignments, (3) Paying attention to the level of difficulty, (4) Monitoring student progress. The method in this study uses two approaches, namely a qualitative approach and a quantitative approach. The effect of the action on the group given the task was calculated through the statistical tool of analysis of variance. After two actions were taken, it was found that the students who were given the task got a higher academic score. The key is that on every assignment given, the lecturer needs to provide feedback, especially on difficult questions.
