Abstract

This research aims to explain the meaning of justice in QS. An-Nisa: 3 through the paradigm of maqasidi interpretation (tafsir maqasidi) and its implications in Islamic law regarding the permission for polygamy. Tafsir maqasidi is a type of exegesis that examines the meanings of the words in the Noble Qur'an and their broader linguistic implications, along with the wisdom and objectives behind the revelation of the Qur'an and the legislation of Islamic laws. These objectives encompass universal values, namely maqasid al-shari'ah (the higher purposes of Islamic law) and maqasid al-Qur'an (the objectives of the Qur'an). This study employs a qualitative method with a tafsir maqasidi approach, involving textual analysis of the verse, historical context, and integration with the principles of maqasid al-shari'ah and empirical evidence related to the impacts of polygamy. The issues this paper seeks to address are: first, the absence of a definitive Islamic legal ruling on whether polygamy without the wife's permission is permissible or not. Second, the lack of alignment between Islamic legal rulings on polygamy permission and the provisions of Law No. 1 of 1974 of the Republic of Indonesia and the Compilation of Islamic Law, which stipulate that the wife's consent is mandatory. The findings indicate that the meaning of justice in QS. An-Nisa: 3, when understood through the lens of tafsir maqasidi, aims to protect women's well-being physically, mentally, and emotionally. Thus, polygamy without consent constitutes an act that contradicts the principle of justice and undermines maqasid al-shari'ah in safeguarding women's dignity and rights. Therefore, from the perspective of interpreting QS. An-Nisa: 3, obtaining permission for polygamy becomes an obligatory requirement.

Abstract

This paper analyzed the human concept according to Marxism in the view of Muslim thinkers. This paper was made because of the reading of material-based Marxist concepts and out from the transcendent elements, including in view of human beings. For this reason Marxism is very necessary to be seen from the perspective of human concepts according to Muslim thinkers who are represented by groups of Muslim philosophers and groups of mufassir. The results of this result showed that the main different and criticism of Marxism is his thinking that humanity is the result of his own creation based on materials. This refers to the idea of man-centered, autonomous, physical-biological man, without sou. Human life depends on maerials,it does not depend on things which are supernatural like God so that man must be united with nature. Marx's view of man is very different from the concept of man according to Muslim thinkers. According to them, man was created by his Lord and deeply connected with God. Besides they have physical elements, humans also have elements of the soul or nafs which very dependent on God. Humans made the Khalifah to control nature as a medium of worship to God.

Abstract

Language is a powerful tool for expressing identity, navigating relationships, and addressing cultural complexities, particularly in literary works that explore intricate social dynamics. This study investigates the interplay between language, cultural context, and communication within Amy Tan’s The Bonesetter’s Daughter, emphasizing how speech acts reflect and navigate complex social relationships. Through a socio-pragmatic framework, the research examines dialogues and interactions in the novel to identify illocutionary speech acts and their socio-cultural implications. Utilizing text and content analysis methods, data were collected using the AntConc tool to identify keywords associated with various speech acts, followed by a detailed analysis of the characters' utterances. The findings reveal 499 instances of illocutionary speech acts, categorized into assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative types as outlined by Searle’s theory. These acts illustrate the characters' efforts to navigate cultural conflicts, identity struggles, and generational tensions, particularly within the mother-daughter dynamic between Ruth and LuLing. The study underscores the role of language in mediating relationships, resolving conflicts, and expressing cultural identity. By providing insights into how speech acts operate within specific social and cultural contexts, this research contributes to the fields of sociolinguistics and literary studies. It highlights the practical application of socio-pragmatic analysis in understanding the relationship between language, culture, and identity in literature.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis terkait dengan etos kerja dalam perspektif Al-Qur’an dan Hadist. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kepustakaan. Sebagai sumber kajian dalam hal ini adalah Al-Qur’an dan hadist. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode riset kepustakaan (Library Research). Aquran menjadi sumber utama didukung beberapa tafsir yang representative. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan ilmu tafsir. Sumber data yang ditemukan dari Al-Qur’an dan hadist serta dari buku-buku sebagai referensi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa islam mmelalui Al-Qur’an dan hadist telah mmengatur seluruh Aspek kehidupan manusia termasuk pada  perekonomian. Dengan bekerja maka seluruh kebutuhan akan terpenuhi. Etos kerja merupakan upaya yang dilakukan untuk menghindari meminta-minta dengan bekerja secara profesional akan mendapatkan hasil yang baik.

Abstract

Materi Ulumul Hadis memiliki peran yang penting dalam konteks pendidikan Islam. Hadis, sebagai sumber hukum kedua setelah Al-Qur'an, memberikan pedoman praktis bagi umat Islam dalam menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari. Pentingnya Ulumul Hadis dalam pendidikan terletak pada beberapa aspek kunci. Pertama, Ulumul Hadis membantu memastikan otentisitas dan keabsahan hadis, sehingga pesan-pesan yang disampaikan dapat diandalkan sebagai panduan hidup. Kedua, ilmu ini membuka pintu untuk memahami konteks sosial, budaya, dan politik pada masa Rasulullah dan generasi sesudahnya, memberikan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang ajaran Islam. Dalam konteks pendidikan formal, pengajaran Ulumul Hadis dapat mencakup keterampilan kritis dalam memahami sanad (rantai perawi) dan matan (teks) hadis. Ini melibatkan analisis kritis terhadap keabsahan perawi dan pemahaman mendalam terhadap makna hadis. Selain itu, penerapan konsep-konsep Ulumul Hadis dapat memperkaya kurikulum pendidikan Islam dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai moral dan etika yang dapat membentuk karakter peserta didik. Pentingnya penekanan pada Ulumul Hadis juga terlihat dalam pendidikan non-formal, seperti pesantren dan madrasah. Di lingkungan ini, Ulumul Hadis menjadi landasan bagi pembentukan sikap dan perilaku yang sesuai dengan ajaran Islam. Pengembangan keterampilan hadis juga dapat menjadi sarana untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik tentang toleransi, keadilan, dan kerjasama. Dalam kesimpulannya, pemahaman Ulumul Hadis dalam konteks pendidikan bukan hanya tentang memahami teknis hadis, tetapi juga memahami nilai-nilai, etika, dan moral Islam yang dapat membentuk karakter generasi muda. Oleh karena itu, integrasi Ulumul Hadis dalam kurikulum pendidikan formal dan non-formal diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pembentukan individu yang lebih baik dan berakhlak dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

The main issues studied in this study are: how is M. Quraish Shihab’s interpretation of nusyu>z in the Qur’an, and how is it relevant to the level of divorce in the household. The purpose of this study is to find out the interpretation of M. Quraish Shihab about nusyu>z in the Qur’an. This type of research is library research. Research data sources are divided into: first. Primary data sources include the interpretation of al- Misbah which is the work of M. Quraish Shihab. Second, secondary data sources from books of interpretation, books related to M. Quraish Shihab, scientific journals, theses, research or other sources related to the object of the problem in research. The results of this study are, according to M. Quraish Shihab, nusyu>z is the arrogance of  a wife towards her husband, and nusyu>z tends to be shown to the wife, this is also inseparable from the husband’s position as a leader in the household and earns a living  to meet the needs of his family. So that a wife is required to ful fill all her obligations  as a wife. The relevance to the level of divorce in the household is seen from the phenomenon that occurs in society that the fastest solution and is considered a way to solve problems is divorce. This phenomenon occurs in almost all of Indonesia, among others, due to unful filled economic factors, lack of knowledge of religious knowledge, and the existence of disagreements, making it one of the polemics that triggers rifts in the household, so that the path that can be taken by both parties is divorce.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan menjelaskan konsep kepemilikan harta menurut al-Qur’an dengan menelaah dasar-dasar teologis dan filosofis yang melandasinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) yang menggunakan pendekatan filosofis dan tafsir tematik (maudhu‘i). Sumber data primer diperoleh dari al-Qur’an dan kitab tafsir klasik maupun modern, sedangkan sumber sekunder berasal dari literatur-literatur pendukung yang membahas konsep kepemilikan harta dalam Islam. Analisis dilakukan melalui pendekatan filosofis yang menelaah hakikat dan nilai teologis kepemilikan, disertai langkah tafsir tematik dengan cara menghimpun, mengelompokkan, dan menafsirkan ayat-ayat al-Qur’an tentang kepemilikan secara sistematis untuk menemukan prinsip dasarnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemilikan harta menurut al-Qur’an berakar pada aspek teologis (akidah), yaitu keyakinan bahwa seluruh harta adalah milik Allah SWT dan manusia hanyalah khalifah yang bertugas mengelolanya secara adil. Konsep ini membentuk kerangka moderat antara sistem ekonomi kapitalis dan sosialis: al-Qur’an mengakui hak milik individu namun membatasinya dengan tanggung jawab sosial melalui mekanisme distribusi seperti zakat, wakaf, dan hibah. Keluaran praktis dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep kepemilikan Qur’ani dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan kebijakan ekonomi berbasis keadilan sosial dan distribusi kekayaan berkelanjutan dalam masyarakat modern.
