Abstract

Frambusia is an extremely contagious tropical disease. Indonesia is believed to have the highest number of frambusia instances in Southeast Asia, with 185 cases reported in 2021. The findings of serological examinations in numerous regions and cities suggest that the prevalence of frambusia is 20-120 per 100,000 people aged 1 to 15. Efforts to fight frambusia can be carried out through health promotion. A pre-survey at SD N 01 Dukuh Waluh, conducted through interviews with ten students, revealed that students had never received health education about frambusia and had no idea what the disease was. This program aims to educate students and their parents about frambusia and its prevention. The activity took place on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at SD N 01 Dukuhwaluh, with 16 parents and 35 5th grade kids in attendance. The results of the program after health education revealed that the majority of respondents' knowledge increased (75%), knowledge remained constant by up to 25%, and no respondents (0%) had knowledge decreased. This exercise is expected to offer children and parents with a thorough awareness of Frambusia, as well as to encourage the adoption of clean and healthy living habits in order to prevent the disease. Abstract

The development of children aged 0-24 months is crucial for the child's survival. One effort to maintain children's growth within the normal range is by providing stimulation to children. This service aims to identify the characteristics of respondents (age, education and occupation), provide health education and identify the mother's level of knowledge before and after health education. Sampling was done using lecture, discussion, question and answer, and demonstration methods, totalling 19 respondents, namely mothers with babies aged 0-24 months. The research instrument uses a pre-test and post-test questionnaire. The media used are powerpoint, animation videos, and pocket books. The results obtained were that the characteristics of the participants were that most of them were aged 20-35 years (69%), some of the participants had completed elementary school education (58%) and most of the participants worked as housewives (89%). There is a difference before and after health education, namely an increase in pre-test and post-test results, as evidenced by the average pre-test score of 60.94 in the sufficient category, and the average post-test score of 75.47 in the good category. This shows increased maternal knowledge before and after health education, namely 14.53. It is hoped that the implementation of Community Service (PkM) can continue health education activities regarding stimulating development by adding personnel who aim to assist in the service process to make it more efficient. Apart from that, door prizes are made as attractive as possible so that participants are interested in participating.

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic and infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria and is one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide. TB treatment requires a long duration, 6 months, leading to boredom and discontinuation of treatment. This study aims to determine the description of adherence to medication in adult patients with tuberculosis at the Balai Kesehatan Paru Masyarakat Purwokerto (BKPM). Purpose: This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive design. Methods: The sample of this study consisted of 76 respondents with total purposive sampling technique. Results: The results showed that the majority of age characteristics were in the late adult category, consisting of 28 respondents (36.8%), female respondents 18 (23.7%), middle education level 30 respondents (39.5%), and unemployed 20 people (26.3%). Adherence to medication in TB patients at BKPM was 48 (63.2%). Conclusion: %). Abstract

ABSTRAK Angka kesakitan anak di Indonesia berkisar 13.55 persen, sedangkan prosentase anak yang dirawat dan menjalani hospitalisasi sekitar 19 dari 1000 anak. Hospitalisasi mengharuskan anak mendapat prosedur invasive yang membuat anak cemas dan nyeri. Anak prasekolah cenderung bereaksi menolak perawatan dan tidak kooperatif saat merasakan nyeri akibat prosedur invasif, sehingga mengganggu perawatan. Terapi farmakologis berupa pemberian analgetik berdampak tidak menyenangkan, sehingga dibutuhkan terapi nonfarmakologi. Salah satu manajemen nyeri nonfarmakologi yang dapat diterapkan adalah audiovisual dan storytelling. Rancangan penelitian ini quasy experiment posttest only with control group design, dengan membandingkan antara kelompok audiovisual dan kelompok storytelling. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan pendekatan consecutive sampling (sampel berurutan). Kriteria inklusi penelitian ini yaitu anak usia 4-6.5 tahun, tingkat kesadaran komposmentis, mendapat prosedur pemasangan infus. Jumlah sampel 32 pasien dengan pembagian 16 pasien kelompok audiovisual dan 16 kelompok storytelling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner Wong Baker Pain Scale (WBS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata tingkat nyeri kelompok audiovisual yaitu 5.63 dengan rentang nyeri skala 4-8. Rerata tingkat nyeri pada kelompok storytelling yaitu 3.88 dengan rentang nyeri skala 4-8. Hasil uji Mann Whitney menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan tingkat nyeri pada kelompok audiovisual film kartun dengan kelompok storytelling (p value 0.031). Kesimpulannya storytelling lebih efektif untuk menurunkan nyeri prosedur invasif pada anak prasekolah dibandingkan dengan audiovisual film kartun. Implikasi keperawatannya storytelling dapat diterapkan di ruang anak untuk mengatasi nyeri prosedur invasif.

Abstract

Background: Nutrition is one of the main determining factors in the quality of human resources. Good nutritional status will influence the growth and development process of children, which can improve intellectual abilities, which will have an impact on learning achievement at school. Objective: This research aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and learning achievement of class VI students at SD Negeri Mandala 03, Cimanggu District, Cilacap Regency. Method: This research is a correlational and analytical design. The sampling technique was a total sampling of 34 respondents. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank test. Results: The findings show no relationship between nutritional status and the learning achievement of class VI students at SD Negeri Mandala 03, Cimanggu District, Cilacap Regency (p=0.712). Student learning achievement is not only influenced by nutritional status, but also they can be influenced by other factors, such as interest and motivation, environment, social media, ease of access to information, and genetic factors. Conclusion: Student learning achievement is not only influenced by nutritional status.

Abstract

Background & Objective: Homesickness is a feeling of homesickness that is often experienced by overseas students, especially in the first year. This condition can affect psychological conditions and reduce motivation to learn. Overseas students often face challenges adapting to a new environment, which can increase the risk of homesickness. Research conducted by Firdasari et al at Halu Oleo University found a correlation value of r = -0.351 (p value <0.05), which shows the higher the level of homesickness, the lower the learning motivation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between homesickness and learning motivation of first-year overseas students at the Faculty of Health, Harapan Bangsa University Purwokerto. Method: This study used quantitative methods with a correlational design and cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 109 first-year overseas students selected through total sampling technique. Data were collected using Homesickness Questionnaire (HQ) adapted by Utami to measure the level of homesickness and Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) adapted by Afifah to measure learning motivation. Data were analyzed using Spearman's rho two-tailed correlation test. Result: The results showed a significant negative relationship between homesickness and learning motivation in overseas students with a correlation coefficient of r = -0.344 and p-value = 0.000. These results are in line with previous research, showing that the higher the level of homesickness, the lower the student's learning motivation. Conclusion: This research is expected to be a reference for students in order to optimize high learning motivation and manage homesickness wisely by participating in activities such as student and academic organizations.

Abstract

Kehamilan merupakan proses alami bagi wanita yang melibatkan banyak perubahan fisik. Kehamilan berlangsung sekitar 40 minggu, atau setara dengan 9 bulan 7 hari, dihitung sejak hari pertama haid terakhir Ketidaknyamanan ini dapat dirasakan sepanjang 3 trimester kehamilan. Untuk mengurangi ketidaknyamanan, ada beberapa jenis terapi yang dapat dipilih berdasarkan gejala yang dialami. Salah satu diantaranya yaitu pregnancy massage atau biasa dikenal sebagai pijat ibu hamil. Tujuan dari PkM ini yaitu mengedukasi 35 ibu hamil sebagai responden mengenai pengetahuan tentang ketidaknyamanan selama kehamilan dan tentang pregnancy massage., dan meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil mengenai pregnancy massage guna untuk mengatasi keluhan-keluhan yang dialami. Metode pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan kuesioner pretest dan posttest mengenai pregnancy massage., memberikan edukasi mengenai pregnancy massage. Hasil edukasi ketidaknyamanan selama kehamilan yang dilakukan menunjukkan hasil peningkatan pengetahuan sebanyak 31,14% dengan nilai rata-rata 89,43 (baik). Pada edukasi pregnancy massage menunjukkan hasil peningkatan pengetahuan sebanyak 40,38% dengan nilai rata-rata 93,71 (baik). Luaran Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini yaitu haki video dan buku saku tentang pregnancy massage serta jurnal publikasi Pengabdian Masyarakat

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescence is an important developmental phase that is prone to identity crises, emotional instability, and pressure from social and academic environments. Academic stres is one of the main problems that affects mental health, academic achievement, and the quality of life of adolescents. One effective method of coping with stres is guided imagery therapy. Objective: The purpose of this activity is to identify and reduce stres levels among adolescents. Method: The methods used were lectures, discussions, guided imagery therapy demonstrations, pre-tests, and post-tests. The media used were PowerPoint, booklets, LCD, and projectors. The target was ninth-grade students in class C at SMP Negeri 9 Purwokerto. The therapy was conducted three times a week for 10–15 minutes. Result: The results of the study proved effective in reducing students' academic stres. The pre-test results showed that the majority of students experienced moderate stres (82.9%), while the post-test showed a decrease to the mild stres category (68.6%). The average stres score decreased from 44.34% to 36.02%. Statistical analysis using a paired t-test showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.001), confirming the effectiveness of guided imagery therapy in reducing academic stres. Conclusion: Guided imagery has been proven to provide relaxation, reduce academic stres, and can be practiced independently by students.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan upaya untuk dapat meningkatkan kehidupan bangsa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat kecemasan akademik siswa SMK Mulya Husada Purwokerto. metode pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel terdiri dari 121 siswa kelas XI jurusan Keperawatan dan Farmasi yang dipilih menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner Academic Anxiety Scale (AAS), yang mencakup aspek afektif dan somatik. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas responden berusia 17 tahun (72,7%), berjenis kelamin perempuan (93,4%), dan berasal dari jurusan Keperawatan (24%). Tingkat kecemasan akademik sebagian besar berada pada kategori berat (56,2%), diikuti kategori sedang (41,3%), dan ringan (2,5%). Faktor penyebab kecemasan meliputi tekanan akademik, kesulitan menyeimbangkan teori dan praktik, serta stres ujian. Studi ini menyoroti perlunya institusi pendidikan memberikan intervensi yang efektif, seperti terapi relaksasi dan pendampingan psikologis, untuk mengurangi kecemasan siswa.

Abstract

The development of games in Indonesia is increasing rapidly along with the advancement of communication technology that drives the game industry. One of the most popular types of games is online games. Based on the results of the pre-survey obtained by the researcher on 15 students of SMK N 2 Purwokerto, there were students who played online games when they were free and after they performed the dzuhur prayer, 12 students said that every class must have someone who plays online games but not all children play online games at school, there are also those who mention playing online games when they are at home. The purpose of the study was to get an overview of the use of online games in grade XI students at SMK N 2 Purwokerto. This study uses a quantitative descriptive analysis method with a cross sectional approach in the form of a survey. This study involved 140 students who were taken using the total sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The results of this study were obtained by the majority of respondents who were male (62.1%), the length of use of online games was mostly in the low category (67.1%), and the distribution of online game use in the medium category was as much as (61.2%). This shows that the use of online games in SMK N 2 Purwokerto students is in the medium category. It is hoped that the school will be able to hold a student guidance program regarding time management in playing online games.
