Abstract

Pembelajaran abad ke-21 menuntut adanya inovasi media pembelajaran yang mampu mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, terutama di tingkat sekolah dasar. Namun hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SD, khususnya di kelas III, masih tergolong rendah akibat dominasi metode pembelajaran tradisional yang kurang melibatkan partisipasi aktif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media puzzle dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas III SD pada pembelajaran tematik integratif. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur, dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber relevan seperti jurnal, buku, artikel ilmiah, dan skripsi terbitan tahun 2015 ke atas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media puzzle, sebagai media pembelajaran konkret, mampu merangsang kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui aktivitas menyusun potongan secara logistik, analitis, dan sistematis. Media ini terbukti mendorong siswa untuk lebih aktif, fokus, serta terlibat dalam proses analisis, evaluasi, dan refleksi. Selain meningkatkan aspek kognitif, penggunaan media puzzle juga berkontribusi pada pengembangan aspek afektif dan psikomotorik, seperti kerja sama, ketelitian, dan koordinasi visual-motorik. Meskipun memiliki beberapa keterbatasan, seperti kebutuhan waktu dan kreativitas dalam penyusunan, kelebihan media puzzle dalam mendorong pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan bermakna menjadikan alternatif efektif dalam pengembangan pemikiran kritis siswa. Dengan demikian, media puzzle layak diintegrasikan ke dalam pembelajaran tematik kelas rendah sebagai upaya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan yang adaptif terhadap tantangan abad ke-21.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the scientific method in Social Studies (IPS) learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Elementary Schools) to enhance students’ critical thinking abilities. Social Studies plays a crucial role in deepening students’ understanding of social, cultural, economic, and environmental aspects while fostering empathy and a sense of responsibility. However, the continued use of traditional, teacher-centered methods has limited the optimal development of students’ critical thinking skills.Through a literature review of five scholarly articles, this study reveals that the application of the scientific approach comprising the stages of observing, questioning, reasoning, experimenting, and communicating positively influences students’ active participation, conceptual understanding, and analytical thinking abilities. Nevertheless, questioning and verbal communication skills still require improvement through sustained teacher guidance. Overall, the scientific method has proven effective in creating dynamic and contextual Social Studies learning that emphasizes the development of students’ critical thinking and higher-order thinking skills essential for the 21st century.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan aplikasi Quizizz terhadap hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar melalui pendekatan studi literatur. Quizizz merupakan platform pembelajaran berbasis gamifikasi yang memungkinkan pembelajaran berlangsung secara interaktif dan menyenangkan. Kajian ini dilakukan dengan menganalisis delapan artikel ilmiah yang relevan, terbit dalam kurun waktu empat tahun terakhir, dan membahas implementasi Quizizz dalam pembelajaran tingkat dasar. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan studi literatur, mengumpulkan sumber dari buku-buku dan artikel ilmiah, yang berfungsi sebagai data untuk analisis dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dalam studi literatur, tidak ada lokasi penelitian yang ditentukan karena semua data bersumber dari literatur sebelumnya yang terkait dengan tema Artikel. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil sintesis menunjukkan penggunaan Quizizz memiliki dampak positif pada peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, terutama dalam aspek kognitif seperti pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar. Secara teoritis, efektivitas Quizizz dijelaskan melalui pendekatan behavioristik, melalui penguatan positif dari skor dan umpan balik instan, serta konstruktivistik, yang menekankan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses belajar. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa Quizizz dapat dijadikan alternatif media pembelajaran inovatif yang mendukung pencapaian hasil belajar secara optimal. Implikasi praktis dari kajian ini mencakup perlunya pelatihan guru dalam menyusun soal berbasis digital serta dukungan infrastruktur teknologi di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Character education has become a crucial aspect in addressing the challenges of globalization, which is increasingly complex and dynamic. The flow of globalization brings various positive impacts, such as technological advancement and openness of information, but it also poses negative effects, including moral degradation, identity crisis, and the decline of cultural and ethical values among the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the role of character education in shaping students’ personalities so that they are able to face the challenges of globalization without losing their identity. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining various relevant sources such as scientific journals, books, and previous research findings. The results indicate that character education integrated into the learning process, extracurricular activities, and the school and family environment can effectively develop students’ religious values, discipline, responsibility, and integrity. Furthermore, the implementation of character education based on local cultural values is an effective strategy to counteract the negative impacts of globalization. Therefore, character education plays a strategic role in shaping a generation that is not only intellectually competent but also morally grounded. It is essential to establish synergy among schools, families, and communities to optimize the implementation of character education in the era of globalization

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) on students’ critical thinking skills in science (IPA) subjects. The background of this study is based on the low level of students’ critical thinking skills, which are still dominated by conventional learning methods that do not optimally emphasize higher-order thinking development. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through critical thinking tests, observations, and documentation. The results showed that there is a significant effect of implementing the HOTS-based PBL model on improving students’ critical thinking skills. This is evidenced by the difference in the average scores between the experimental class, which applied the HOTS-based PBL model, and the control class, which used conventional teaching methods. Therefore, the HOTS-based PBL model is effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in science learning. This study recommends the use of the HOTS-based PBL model as an innovative instructional strategy to improve the quality of learning and students’ critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study explores the role of teachers as influencers in 21st-century education, particularly in developing students' intelligence and character through the use of digital media and technology. Digital transformation requires teachers to function not only as conveyors of information but also as community leaders who can provide positive influence through digital behavior and communication. The purpose of this study is to analyze how teachers carry out their role as educational influencers and their impact on students' intellectual and character development. This study uses a literature review method by reviewing scientific sources such as books, articles, journals, and relevant research reports. The analysis was conducted using a descriptive-analytical approach to identify patterns, ideas, and strategies implemented by teachers in integrating character values ??and digital literacy. The results show that teachers with strong digital competence and personal integrity can create a positive influence through educational content, digital role models, and ethical communication. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of improving teachers' digital literacy, supporting educational policies, and ongoing professional training to build a digital learning ecosystem that is characterized, adaptive, and responsive to contemporary challenges.
