Abstract

Ganggang hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata L.) merupakan tumbuhan air yang tumbuh di perairan Danau Toba. Ganggang hydrilla mengandung banyak kandungan gizi, klorofil, karotenoid, vitamin C, alkaloid, flavonoid, steroid, saponin, kalsium, magnesium serta mineral dan antioksidan yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam perkembangan dunia kesehatan, salah satunya adalah dalam bentuk formulasi sediaan gummy candies. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah sari ganggang hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata L.) dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan gummy candies yang memenuhi beberapa pengujian fisik dan disukai oleh panelis. Metode pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental. Sediaan  gummy candies dibuat dengan konsentrasi 0%, 10%, 15% dan 20%. Pengujian yang dilakukan antara lain skrining fitokimia, pemeriksaan karakteristik simplisia, uji organoleptik, uji pH, uji kadar air, uji kadar abu, uji keseragaman bobot, uji elastisitas, uji kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder pada sediaan gummy candies. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ganggang hydrilla memiliki senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa alkaloid, flavonoid dan steroid. Uji organoleptik sediaan pada F0, F1, F2 dan F3 menunjukkan hasil yang sama pada bau khas, rasa manis sedikit asam dan rasa leci, dan tekstur kenyal. Warna kuning transparan – kuning gelap. Sediaan gummy candies memiliki pH pada kisaran 3,3-3,5. Kadar air pada kisaran 12-15,3%, dengan kadar abu 3,3%. Uji keseragaman bobot memenuhi syarat FI edisi III. Uji elastisitas pada F3 mendekati elastisitas gummy candies yang beredar. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah sari ganggang hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata L.) dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan gummy candies yang memenuhi beberapa pengujian fisik gummy candies  seperti yang tertera pada SNI. Kata kunci: Ganggang Hydrilla, Hydrilla verticilata, Gummy Candies, Danau Toba – Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Background; Lotus leaves (Nelumbo nucifera G.) is one of the plants that are potentially in the field of treatment, like antibacterial antiacne. Lotus leaves contain alkaloids, saponins, tannins, flavonoids and steroids are compounds of secondary metabolites in plants that are effective as an antibacterial. Objective; The study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of lotus leaves ethanol extract against bacteria of Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus. Method; The ethanol extract of lotus leaves was made by maceration method using 96% ethanol as a solvent. The in-vitro antibacterial activity test used the well method with a concentration of 10%, 20% and 30%. Results; The results of the study with concentration of 10%, 20% and 30% have the inhibition zone on the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes where the concentration of 10% of 8.7mm, a concentration of 20% of 12.4mm and a concentration of 30% by 14.5mm. And the zone of inhibition on Staphylococcus aureus bacteria has a 10% concentration of 8.1mm, the concentration of 20% of 11.1mm and a concentration of 30% of 14.1mm. Concentration is the cream of the ethanol extract of the leaves of lotus at a concentration of 30%. Conclusion; The conclusion of this study showed that the ethanol extract of lotus leaves could be formulated in a cream dosage form and has antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. It is suggested to the next researchers to do fractionation to get better dosage results.

Abstract

Tanaman obat tradisional merupakan salah satu pengobatan alternatif yang telah lama dilakukan secara turun temurun. Keberhasilan pemanfaatan tanaman obat tradisional ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai manfaat dari setiap jenis tanaman yang berkhasiat. Pemanfaatan tanaman obat tradisional tidak hanya sebagai bumbu masakan, tetapi jika ditekuni dengan sepenuh hati akan memberikan nilai kepuasan, bahkan sebagai penopang kehidupan. Banyak bagian dari tumbuhan bisa digunakan sebagai obat, diantaranya adalah bagian buah, batang, daun dan akar atau umbi. Pengetahuan masyarakat di desa Bakaran Batu Kecamatan Batang Kuis mengenai pemanfaatan obat tradisional untuk pengobatan bisa dikatakan baik, tetapi pengolahan dari bagian tanaman yang bisa dijadikan obat yang salah satunya dijadikan simplisia belumlah mereka ketahui. Simplisia adalah bahan alamiah yang dipakai sebagai obat yang belum mengalami pengolahan apapun juga atau yang baru mengalami proses setengah jadi seperti pengeringan. Simplisia memiliki banyak keunggulan antara lain efek sampingnya relatif lebih kecil daripada obat-obatan kimia karena berasal dari alam, adanya komposisi yang saling mendukung untuk mencapai efektivitas pengobatan, dan lebih sesuai untuk penyakit metabolik dan degeneratif. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberi penyuluhan kepada masyarakat di Desa Bakaran Batu Kecamatan Batang Kuis dengan memberikan contoh beberapa jenis tanaman yang bisa digunakan untuk. Selanjutnya bagian tanaman tersebut dijadikan simplisia untuk dijadikan obat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pemberian penyuluhan berupa ceramah dengan media powerpoint dan pembagian leaflet. Kegiatan ini diharapkan meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai pembuatan simplisia dari tanaman obat untuk dapat digunakan dalam kebutuhan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Nelumbo nucifera is an aquatic plant that thrives in muddy and soggy soil, particularly in swampy environments. Nelumbo nucifera is utilized in traditional medicine for various purposes, including the management of diarrhea, tissue inflammation, and homeostasis. The flowers and leaves of Nelumbo nucifera contain many secondary metabolite chemicals, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and antioxidants. The objective of this study is to ascertain the feasibility of formulating a cream scrub using the ethanol extract of Nelumbo nucifera flowers and leaves. Additionally, the study attempts to discover if concentrations of 3%, 5%, and 7% of this extract can effectively moisturize the skin. This research technique is based on experimentation, involving the creation of simplicia, the production of extracts, the formulation of body scrub preparations using ethanol extracts of Nelumbo nucifera flowers and leaves, and the subsequent evaluation of these body scrub preparations. This study found that the moisture content of Nelumbo nucifera flower ethanol extract cream increased by 41.2% in F1, 46.5% in F2, and 52.9% in F3. The humidity percentage values for Nelumbo nucifera leaf extract cream were obtained as follows: F1 at 38.8%, F2 at 44.4%, and F3 at 47.7%. The ethanol extract derived from the flowers and leaves of Nelumbo nucifera can be prepared and used as a cream scrub. A cream scrub containing Nelumbo nucifera flower and leaf extract at concentrations of 3%, 5%, and 7% can effectively moisturize the skin.

Abstract

Body odor is a significant problem and is often encountered in some individuals characterized by excessive odor. A deodorant spray made from basil leaf (Ocimum Basilicum L.) extract is a product used to treat body odor caused by Staphylococcus Aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of deodorant spray and basil leaf extract on bacterial activity, as well as the optimal dose of deodorant spray for lowering the activity of these bacteria. Method the research was conducted experimentally, testing antibacterial activity using agar diffusion. The results of the deodorant spray preparation test showed that the preparation was homogeneous, organoleptically brown in color, had a distinctive smell, and had a liquid texture; the pH test results met the requirements for deodorant spray 4.5-6.5. The average diameter of the inhibition zones produced from each preparation were Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria, positive control 7 mm, negative control 10.1 mm; formula 5% 12.3 mm; formula 10% 13.3 mm; formula 15% 12.7 mm maximum concentration in inhibiting bacteria is formula 10% by 13.3 mm, while the bacteria Staphylococcus Aureus positive control 13 mm, negative control 11.2 mm, 5% formula 13.1 mm; formula 10% 13.4 mm; 15% formula 13.9 mm maximum concentration in inhibiting bacteria is 15% formula 13.9 mm. Based on the inhibitory zone created by 10% basil leaf ethanol extract, Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria had a 13.3 mm clean zone and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria had a 26.5 mm clean zone.

Abstract

Tumbuhan ara (Ficus racemosa L.) sangat memiliki khasiat sebagai antidiare, antiinflamasi, antioksidan dan lain sebagainya. Antioksidan dalam krim berfungsi sebagai pelembab untuk melindungi kulit dari radikal bebas dengan cara membentuk lapisan lemak tipis di permukaan kulit dan memperlambat kerusakan akibat proses oksidasi. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk membuat formulasi dari sediaan krim pelembab dengan menggunakan  ekstrak etanol buah ara (Ficus racemosa L.) sebagai pelembab alami kulit dan menentukan konsentrasi terbaik yang memenuhi persyaratan standar Farmakope Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental. pembuatan ekstrak buah ara dilakukan dengan cara maserasi, konsentrasi ekstrak buah ara ditambahkan ke dalam sediaan formulasi krim 10%, 20% dan 30%. Pengujian sediaan meliputi uji organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, tipe krim, viskositas, iritasi, hedonik dan stabilitas. Analisis data menggunakan uji anova. Hasil menunjukkan sediaan krim pelembab memenuhi syarat evaluasi fisik sediaan yaitu memiliki tekstur semi solid, dengan aroma pewangi krim, warna pada setiap formula berbeda beda, F0 berwarna putih, formula F1 (10%) coklat muda, F2 (20%) coklat pekat, F3 (30%) Coklat hitam. Semua sediaan homogen dan tidak mengiritasi kulit. Memiliki pH berkisar 5-6,3, daya sebar 5-6,7 cm dengan viskositas 9326-13918 Cs, uji stabilitas dengan metode cycling test selama 12 hari memiliki stabilitas yang baik. Hasil rata-rata persentase peningkatan kelembaban pada F0 (17,77%), F1 (35,57%), F2 (49,87%), F3 (51,93%) dan kontrol positif (56,5%). Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji anova menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari ketiga konsentrasi yang diuji. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan sediaan krim pelembab yang diformulasikan dapat melembabkan kulit secara alami, dan disetiap minggunya terjadi peningkatan kelembaban kulit. dan konsentrasi terbaik sediaan krim pelembab yaitu F3 dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 30%.

Abstract

Community service aims to increase economic income from Empon Menieer concoctions as health products, acquire new skills with high economic value in the market, and improve family welfare by developing additional businesses that can enhance body immunity. The benefits of Empon Menieer and its processing methods, along with skills in entrepreneurship and small business management, can be enhanced through training and mentoring. Herbal and traditional medicine practices, passed down through generations, are part of the parents' responsibility to preserve customs and traditions. The method involves preparing activities through coordination in the initial meeting, obtaining permission and support from the Head of the PKK (Family Welfare Movement), forming a team consisting of students, lecturers, and village community representatives, collecting materials for making Empon Menieer concoctions, and preparing visual aids for socialization. The community participants are divided into 3 groups, each consisting of 10 people, totaling 30 people for direct practice in making Empon Menieer with guidance from lecturers and students. The results of making the Empon Menieer concoctions can improve economic income as health products, provide new skills with high market value, and enhance family welfare by developing additional businesses that can boost immunity, thus maintaining the health of the village community. Participants also gain new knowledge about the benefits of Empon Menieer and its processing methods, and skills in entrepreneurship and small business management are improved through training and mentoring. The conclusions of the progress of the Community Service Program (PKM) include: the village PKK actively participates in forming the village PKK groups during the mentoring process of making Empon Menieer concoctions, enhancing the knowledge of the Bakaran Batu village community and students after attending the training.
