Abstract

The child-free lifestyle, namely those who get married but decide not to have children, seems to be increasingly prevalent in Indonesia. And there are various reasons behind it. This paper intends to formulate the problem of how to view childfree from the point of view of Christian ethics. Is the childfree lifestyle acceptable based on biblical truth? This is interesting because there is very little research on childfree from a Christian point of view in Indonesia. So it can be said that research on this is something new. The method used to answer these questions is to collect journals, books, and Bible verses related to the formulation of the problem to get answers to the questions above. It is interesting to be able to listen to the results of this study because it will reveal many reasons why people are childfree. And after doing the research, it can be concluded that child freedom can still be justified according to the Bible for the right reasons, namely for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The author hopes that this work can be used as a reference for those who are considering childfree or those who care about childfree.Gaya hidup childfree yaitu mereka yang menikah namun memutuskan untuk tidak ingin memiliki keturunan rupanya semakin marak di Indonesia. Dan ada berbagai alasan yang melatarbelakanginya. Tulisan ini hendak merumuskan masalah tersebut menjadi bagaimana memandang childfree dari sudut pandang etika Kristiani. Apakah gaya hidup childfree dapat diterima berdasarkan kebenaran Alkitab. Hal ini menjadi menarik karena sedikitnya penelitian mengenai childfree dari sudut pandang Kristiani di Indonesia. Sehingga dapat dikatakan penelitian mengenai ini adalah sesuatu yang baru. Metode yang digunakan untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut adalah dengan mengumpulkan jurnal, buku, ayat-ayat Alkitab yang berkaitan dengan rumusan masalah tersebut untuk mendapatkan jawaban atas pertanyaan di atas. Menarik untuk dapat menyimak hasil penelitian ini, karena akan mengungkap banyak alasan orang untuk childfree. Dan setelah dilakukan penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa childfree masih dapat dibenarkan menurut alkitab dengan alasan yang tepat yaitu dilakukan untuk kepentingan kerajaan sorga. Besar harapan penulis, bahwa karya ini dapat dijadikan referensi bagi mereka yang sedang mempertimbangkan untuk childfree atau mereka yang peduli dengan childfree.

Abstract

Abstract: Plastic surgery to change the shape of the nose (rhynoplasty) is a controversy that is present today as knowledge increases in the field of medical technology, increasing aesthetic influence which presents new trends in influencing a person's shape and appearance. On the other hand, nose reconstruction (septoplasty) is also needed because of an accident, disease or certain conditions in the nose. This paper analyzes the issue of plastic surgery on the nose as an effort to provide an understanding of biblical ethics to place this phenomenon in accordance with Christian ethical principles. The goal is for God's people to consider biblical and ethical principles in making ethical decisions before undergoing plastic surgery. In this study, researchers used descriptive analysis methods and literature studies. The type of data used is in the form of various books and articles according to the theme of the discussion. Based on existing research, researchers found that nose specialist plastic surgery procedures must be carried out according to the conditions that occur and are supported by clear goals and motivation. Such as plastic surgery of the cetoplasty type which is mandatory for the method of healing the respiratory tract in the nose and plastic surgery of the rhinoplasty type which actually does not have to be done because it is contrary to God's will, and does not agree with the perspective of bioethics and Christian ethics. It is possible to do this surgical procedure, but it must be based on clear reasons and objectives, and supported by the unavailability of other options apart from how necessary this operation must be carried out.Key words: Plastic Surgery, Septoplasty, Rhinoplasty, Christian Ethics

Abstract

The era of digital supremacy does not always bring good things because there will always be positive and negative impacts, such as fast and widely circulating hoax information, increasingly sophisticated crimes, acts of fraud, and spiritual deception due to low literacy. On the other hand, there are duties and responsibilities for everyone who believes in Jesus to be involved in missionary service. The mission of preaching the good news must be proclaimed and carried out amid various challenges and the progress of the times. This research was conducted by library research, reviewing several journal articles and books related to improving missionary services through theological literacy in the era of digital supremacy. The research was carried out based on data in the field that already existed in previously published books or journals to find the best solution to answer the existing problems. From this research, good theological literacy will result in a broader and better range of missionary services. Therefore efforts are needed to take advantage of technological developments in the era of digital supremacy to improve the quality of existing theological literacy. These theological literacy materials can be packaged or converted into media formats more relevant to the current context. A good level of theological literacy will impact growing Christian awareness and responsibility for missions, witnessing, and making disciples, increasing the faith and love of believers so that, in the end, it supports the improvement and achievement of missionary service tasks. AbstrakEra supremasi digital tidak selalu membawa hal baik, karena akan selalu ada dampak positif dan negatifnya, seperti informasi hoax yang cepat dan banyak beredar, semakin canggihnya tindak kejahatan, tindak penipuan dan termasuk penyesatan-penyesatan rohani akibat dari literasi yang rendah. Di sisi yang lain, ada tugas dan tanggung jawab setiap orang yang percaya kepada Yesus untuk terlibat dalam pelayanan misi. Misi memberitakan kabar baik harus tetap dikumandangkan dan dijalankan di tengah berbagai tantangan dan kemajuan zaman yang terjadi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan riset kepustakaan atau library research, meninjau beberapa artikel jurnal dan buku-buku yang berkaitan dengan meningkatkan pelayanan misi melalui literasi teologi di era supremasi digital. Penelitian dilakukan dengan dasar data-data di lapangan yang sudah ada di dalam buku-buku atau jurnal terbitan terdahulu untuk kemudian menemukan solusi yang terbaik dalam menjawab permasalahan yang ada. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa literasi teologis yang baik akan menghasilkan jangkauan pelayanan misi yang lebih luas dan lebih baik. Oleh karenanya diperlukan upaya-upaya untuk dapat memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi di era supremasi digital demi meningkatkan kualitas literasi teologis yang sudah ada. Bahan-bahan literasi teologis tersebut dapat dikemas atau dikonversi ke format media yang lebih relevan dengan konteks masa kini. Tingkat literasi teologis yang baik akan berdampak pada tumbuhnya kesadaran dan tanggung jawab orang Kristen untuk bermisi, bersaksi, dan memuridkan, meningkatkan keimanan dan kasih orang percaya sehingga pada akhirnya mendukung peningkatan dan pencapaian dari tugas-tugas pelayanan misi.

Abstract

A woman must understand the meaning of the helping words and prayer pillars. The facts show that there are still too many women in small towns and big cities who do not understand the function of a helper and prayer pillar in every household. The method used is to hold seminars about women so that many have quality spirituality. Because by having spiritual qualities, they will understand the function of being a helper and prayer pillar. The seminar implementation was delivered to various interdenominational churches; the participants were women pastors and the seminar lecture method. This is done with the hope that all participants can convey. This was done with the hope that all participants would be able to convey the material they got in the seminar to their respective congregations in their local church. Due to the covid 19 pandemic, many events are being held via zoom. This is also used to follow up on the teaching that has been delivered so that they remain in the community who want to learn.

Abstract

After two years of a pandemic where worship activities could not be carried out and were limited, the government began to relax the rules for worship, and churches resumed their activities and held face-to-face worship. Even though some congregations are starting to come to worship face-to-face enthusiastically, others are still choosing to worship online. During the hybrid worship period, where online services are still held simultaneously as face-to-face services, the church seeks various ways to invite the entire congregation back to attend services. Based on direct observations and interviews with pastors and congregations that have attended, various factors have been found that can be a driving force for congregations longing to attend face-to-face activities; the church also uses various creative ways to provoke the desire of congregations that are not present to be able to feel and remember the enjoyment worship directly. Efforts to attract the congregation to return to attendance, thanks to the role of the pastor's attention to the congregation and various supporting factors, have resulted in the return of almost the entire congregation for face-to-face worship.

Abstract

Social media has become an important part of the daily lives of youth in Indonesia. However, the influence of social media can be unhealthy if used excessively or in the wrong way. Community can be a solution for youth who experience negative social media influences. This article discusses the role of the community in helping youth overcome the negative effects of social media influence and encourage positive development within youth in Indonesia. This journal uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach or participant observation. Through writing this journal, the authors can draw conclusions that the community can play a very crucial role in helping to increase public understanding and awareness of the benefits of technology. The results obtained can also provide insight that the community can play a crucial role in helping people optimize the use of technology and social media. So this research contributes not only to reminding social media users out there to be wise about the use of social media, but this research also reminds community activists out there who really understand the potential of social media in this era to teach and guide in any form to the public. Indonesia, so that the Indonesian state can progress rapidly as is the progress in existing technology.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the role of pastoral counseling for adolescents who experience fatherlessness in building a positive self-concept using a qualitative descriptive research method, namely exploring and photographing social situations that are thoroughly, broadly, and deeply examined on social or humanitarian issues. The absence of a father from childhood to adolescence will be a bad experience because the father figure represents God in terms of protection and guidance. A self-concept built without clear leadership and direction will result in negative behavioral attitudes in adolescents. Pastoral counseling is a way of shepherding youth to be guided and directed towards an upbeat personality so that they have self-confidence and self-esteem and can solve their problems, which in the future can become physically, psychologically, and morally healthy teenagers.  AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan membahas peran konseling pastoral untuk  remaja yang mengalami fatherless dalam membangun konsep diri yang positif dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu mengekplorasi dan memotret situasi sosial yang diteliti secara menyeluruh, luas, dan dalam terhadap masalah sosial atau kemanusiaan. Ketidakhadiran ayah pada masa anak-anak sampai remaja akan menjadi pengalaman buruk karena figur ayah yang mewakili Tuhan dalam hal perlindungan dan pimpinan. Konsep diri yang dibangun tanpa kepemimpinan dan arahan yang tidak jelas dan tidak ada, akan menghasilkan sikap perilaku negatif anak remaja. Konseling pastoral merupakan cara menggembalakan remaja untuk dibimbing diarahkan menuju pribadi yang positif sehingga memiliki rasa percaya diri, penghargaa diri, mampu menyelesaikan masalahnya sendiri yang pada kemudian hari bisa menjadi remaja yang sehat secara fisik, psikis, dan moral.

Abstract

2030 is fast approaching, and Indonesia will experience a demographic bonus. The Church and the State can work together to prepare the youth generation to be leaders in the future. This research aims to prepare the youth generation as leaders with Christian character and resilience in the face of Indonesia's demographic bonus in 2030 and how strategies for coaching. This research was conducted using a qualitative research method or literature study. The result of this research is that the church prepares the younger generation as leaders; the strategies that can be used to develop leaders with Christian character include firstly, disciplining leaders, secondly assisting (mentoring), thirdly practising serving a small flock, fourthly experiencing the baptism of the Holy Spirit, fifthly equipping leaders with counselling skills and sixth involving leaders in solving problems in the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Penurunan kemampuan kognitif dapat terjadi pada individu usia lanjut. Dampak penurunan kemampuan kognitif ini berdampak langsung pada mental (emosional). Keadaan ini membuat para lansia ini membutuhkan komponen selain penanganan medis dan bimbingan mental yang dapat menolong lansia mengatasi gejolak jiwa akibat penurunan kognitif sehingga lansia tidak sepenuhnya menjadi terpuruk dalam kondisi di masa tuanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan literatur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan alternatif penanganan dan pelayanan langsung bagi jemaat usia lanjut yang mengalami penurunan mental (emosional) yang disebabkan kualitas kognitif menurun. Hasil penelitian, Pelayanan pastoral menjadi salah satu solusi bagi para jemaat lansia, melalui bimbingan dan pemberian nilai-nilai Firman Tuhan yang dapat menolong para lansia mengatasi penurunan mental yang juga merupakan dampak penurunan kualitas kognitif. Karena setiap individu pada hakikatnya tidak hanya dibentuk oleh kekuatan intelektual (kognitif) saja namun ada kekuatan spiritual juga yang dapat menopang keutuhan mentalnya (emosional).

Abstract

The era of Society 5.0 represents a period in which advanced technology and humans are increasingly integrated, creating significant transformations in social and cultural life. This article explores the role and challenges of pastoral counseling in the Society 5.0 era. This research employs a qualitative approach, combined with a literature review, to understand the role of pastoral counseling in the context of the Society 5.0 era. In the face of rapid technological advancements and social changes, pastoral counseling plays a key role in assisting congregations in comprehending and responding wisely to the dynamics of Society 5.0. The results of this study identify relevant approaches, such as education on technology and ethics, collaboration with technology experts, and a strong spiritual approach. Pastoral counseling that aligns with Christian values can be a robust source of support for congregations as they navigate meaningful lives in the increasingly complex Society 5.0 era.
