Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a learning model of participative and collaborative scientific writing skill to promote students’ social and emotional intelligence. This research is also intended to produce skilled graduates in terms of scientific writing and to enable the graduates to possess social and emotional intelligence. This is developmental research. In order to achieve research objectives, a developmental model of A Recursive Reflective Design and Development Model (R2D2) and Research Development Research (RDR) are used. The data consist of qualitative data and quantitative data. The technique used to analyze the data involved domain analysis techniques to analyze the qualitative data, and statistical analysis techniques for the  quantitative data. The result of this developmental research is a participative and collaborative learning model of scientific writing to develop students' social and emotional intelligence. This research also has delivered a distinctive developmental product compared to a conventional learning model, including concept orientation, concept exploration, concept interpretation, concept application, and evaluation. In addition, a participative and collaborative learning model of scientific writing skills should be developed continuously and be promoted to students who are interested in scientific writing, as it can be used to develop students' social and emotional intelligence. On the other hand, lecturers can utilize this product to improve the quality of the learning process, the results of learning scientific writing and developing students' social and emotional intelligence in which this model can be employed as an alternative model to enrich the learning process.

Abstract

KUALITAS BUKU TEKS BAHASA INDONESIA YANG DIGUNAKAN DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kualitas buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP kelas IX yang digunakan di Provinsi Gorontalo. Terdapat tujuh komponen buku teks Bahasa Indonesia kelas IX yang diidentifikasi kualitasnya, yakni petunjuk pembelajaran, deskripsi kompetensi, tujuan pembelajaran, deskripsi isi atau materi pembelajaran, ilustrasi, latihan atau evaluasi, dan rangkuman. Dasar penentuan kualitas buku teks digunakan sepuluh kriteria yang disarankan oleh Greene dan Petty. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data adalah sembilan buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP kelas IX yang digunakan di Provinsi Gorontalo. Data berupa tujuh komponen buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP kelas IX. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komponen-komponen dalam buku teks, enam dari tujuh komponen buku teks yang dianalisis kualitasnya sudah sesuai dengan kriteria yang dikemukakan oleh Greene dan Petty. Komponen yang belum sesuai dengan kriteria yang telah ditetapkan oleh Greene dan Petty adalah komponen rangkuman. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kualitas buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP kelas IX yang selama ini digunakan di Provinsi Gorontalo tergolong tinggi.AbstractThis study was aimed at identifying the quality of Bahasa Indonesia textbooks used in Grade IX of the junior high school in Gorontalo. Seven components of the text book identification, based on the criteria proposed by Greene and Petty, included learning-task instruction, competency description, learning objective, content description or learning material, illustration, exercise or evaluation, and summary. The data sources were nine Bahasa Indonesia textbooks used in Grade IX of the junior high school in Gorontalo. The data consisted of seven components of Bahasa Indonesia textbooks. The data were analyzed using the qualitative analysis technique. The results show that six of the seven components are in line with the quality suggested by Greene and Petty. The component that has not met the criteria set by Greene and Petty is the summary component. Thus, it can be concluded that the level of quality of Indonesian textbooks used in Grade IX of the junior high school in Gorontalo Province is high.

Abstract

This study aims to describe metaphorical expressions in Agus R. Sardjono’s poems that represent human perception space. This was a qualitative descriptive study. The data source was Suatu Cerita dari Negeri Angin, an anthology of poems written by Agus R. Sardjono, consisting of 39 poems. The research stages included: (a) metaphorical symbolidentification, (b) segmentation unit marking, and (c) metaphorical meaning description based on Halley’s classification. The findings show that in Agus R. Sardjono’s poems, there are symbols of metaphorical expressions representing human perception space. There are65 symbols of metaphorical expressions spread in nine types of human perception space. The metaphorical expressions are intended to obtain ethical and aesthetical effects in the poems. These two effects are presented through the use of metaphorical expressions symbolizing something concrete with an abstract purpose or, on the contrary, an abstract purpose using concrete symbols.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan model pembelajaranketerampilan menulis karya ilmiah dengan pendekatan konstruktivisme. Penelitianmenggunakan model recursive reflective design and development (R2D2) dan researchdevelopmentresearch (RDR). Model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan mencakup komponen:pengantar, konsep, keunggulan, tujuan, karakteristik, dan tahapan pembelajaranketerampilan menulis karya ilmiah dengan pendekatan konstruktivisme. Hasil uji ahli,uji pengguna/praktisi, dan uji lapangan menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran yangdikembangkan terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa menulis karyailmiah, baik pada proses maupun hasil. Indikator keberhasilan proses tampak padakeaktifan dan ketekunan mahasiswa dalam melaksanakan tahapan-tahapan kegiatanmenulis karya ilmiah dengan pendekatan konstruktivisme. Indikator keberhasilan hasiltampak pada peningkatan kualitas karya tulis ilmiah mahasiswa, baik pada aspek isi/substansi maupun aspek mekanik (ejaan dan tata tulis).Kata kunci: model pembelajaran, menulis karya ilmiah, pendekatan konstruktivisme

Abstract

Pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia inovatif sangat memperhatikan kompetensi dan hak-hak yang dimiliki siswa, sehingga dikatakan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia inovatif adalah pembelajaran bahasa yang humanis. Sehubungan dengan itu, tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah guru bahasa Indonesia harus dapat mewujudkan model pembelajaran inovatif agar pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia menjadi pembelajaran yang humanis. Pembelajaran inovatif adalah proses pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan meyakini bahwa siswa memiliki kompetensi.  Dalam upaya mencapai tujuan tersebut digunakan metode kualitatif. Sumber datanya adalah proses pembelajaran dengan model inovatif dan data penelitian berupa dampak pembelajaran terhadap kualitas proses dan hasil pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan pembelajaran dengan model inovatif siswa dapat belajar dengan aktif, kreatif, dan inovatif. Hal itu selaras dengan pembelajaran inovatif yang dilandasi oleh filsafat konstruktivisme. Hal itu dimaksudkan untuk mewujudkan pembelajaran inovatif di kelas agar proses pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa dan siswa memiliki kompetensi. Pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dilandasi oleh filsafat konstruktivisme. Konstruktivisme artinya bahwa siswa membangun pengetahuannya tentang dunia melalui sejumlah interaksi yang bermakna dengan lingkungan sosial budayanya. Hasil penelitian memiliki implikasi luas terhadap guru bahasa Indonesia di sekolah untuk mewujudkan pembelajaran bahasa Indoesia yang inovatif untuk selalu memberikan variasi dalam pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan kompetensi yang dimiliki oleh siswa. Kata Kunci:  pembelajaran, bahasa dan sastra Indonesia, humanis, inovatif, kontruktivisme

Abstract

The design of Indonesian language for foreign speakers (BIPA) teaching materials based on Gorontalo folklore has considerable potential to help preserve Gorontalo culture. This study aims to describe the needs for BIPA teaching materials based on Gorontalo folklore, the implementation design of BIPA teaching materials based on Gorontalo folklore, and the feasibility of implementing BIPA teaching materials based on Gorontalo folklore in the BIPA Learning Resources and Media course. This development research involved teaching materials used in learning BIPA resources and media obtained by observation, surveys, and documentation of BIPA majoring students in the department of letters and culture, faculty of letters and culture, UNG, and collected for three months. Those data were further analyzed using qualitative techniques with three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions/data verification. The results show that the level of need for teaching materials is very high. It can be seen from the results obtained that the overall average for students is 4.5%, and for lecturers/material experts, it is 4.8%. In addition, this study also assessed the teaching materials used previously as a reference in compiling teaching materials that suit their needs. For students, the results are 4.1%, and for lecturers/material experts, it is 3.9%, indicating the need for renewal of teaching materials to improve learning. The implementation design was designed by explaining all the primary learning materials obtained through the description of the RPS (Semester Learning Plan). Each media was given an example of an implementation using Gorontalo folklore. The last is the feasibility assessment given to teaching lecturers/material experts for the BIPA Learning Resources and Media subject, showing an average result of 4.5%. All in all, this study concludes that the teaching material entitled "Design of Implementation of Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers Teaching Materials based on Gorontalo Folklore in the BIPA Learning Resources and Media Course" has gone through the validation process.

Abstract

Figurative language in poetry is important to study because figurative language is one part of the physical structure of poetry that can animate or cause certain effect and cause certain connotation of words contained in poetry. This research was carried out to obtain figurative language description in Chairil Anwar's poems. The procedure that was passed from data collection to data interpretation were (a) identifying figurative languages in Chairil Anwar's poems, (b) understanding languages in figurative form, (c) understanding the description of meaning contained in it, and ( d) marking the units of segmentation in the form of figurative language. Data analysis was based on three processes, namely the reduction process, the data presentation process, and the verification process. Based on the result of the study obtained, the figurative language is closely related to reality life, poets have a specific purpose in using figurative language, reader must try to understand figurative language in an effort to intact the meaning of a poem, in the poems of Chairil Anwar a number of the beauty of figurative language that can help the reader interpret the meaning of the lines contained there in. Figurative language is presented in his poems to make it easier for reader to interpret the poem. In his poems, Chairil Anwar does not just mention figurative language so that the poems seem interesting, but the inclusion of figurative language was done carefully so that the reader is able to know the meaning of figurative language even though it is considered difficult to interpret.http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/aksara/v21i1.pp41-56

Abstract

The study aimed to develop a participative and collaborative learning evaluation tool for academic writing to enhance students' social and emotional intelligence. The developmental research laid its emphasis on the importance of facilitating a valid and reliable learning evaluation tool to measure the extent of success of academic writing learning. The study integrated R2D2 and RDR models as the development model of the evaluation tool. The R2D2 model comprised three focuses: determination process, design and development, and dissemination. In the meantime, the RDR model also involved three focuses: initial observation, tool development, and implementation of effectiveness test activity. Therefore, the development process of the evaluation tool consisted of four steps (based on the integration of R2D2 and RDR models): 1) initial observation, 2) determination process, 3) tool design, and 4) tool development. Moreover, qualitative and quantitative data were employed in the study; all data were acquired from the learning process, as well as the students, lecturers, practitioners, and relevant experts. The data were further analyzed by employing domain analysis and paired sample t-test statistical analysis. The development process results in a product in the form of four learning evaluation tools to measure the learning outcomes of academic writing subject. The tools involved: assessment rubric, portfolio, observation sheet, and learning journal. According to the effectiveness test result, the evaluation tools are deemed as valid and reliable to be implemented in evaluating the learning process and learning outcomes of academic writing subject.

Abstract

This study’s objectives are (1) descrbing the form of implicature in Mata Najwa’s Talk Show “KPK Riwayatmu Kini” on Trans 7 2021 Edition. (2) characterizing the implicature function in said show. It relied on the descriptive method with qualitative study, while the data collection techniques included listening, reading, and coding techniques. Further, the data were analyzed using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that the implicature forms in Mata Najwa’s Talk Show “KPK Riwayatmu Kini”, which was re-uploaded on Najwa Shihab’s YouTube channel account, including the form of stating, reporting, showing, mentioning, ordering, begging, demanding, suggesting, challenging, praising, thanking, criticizing, complaining, promising, swearing, threatening, as well as the form of deciding, canceling, forbidding, allowing, and forgiving. Meanwhile, the implicature functions include representative, directive, expressive, commissive, and assertive.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas. Penggunaan rancangan ini didasarkan adanya kesesuaian antara karakteristik penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tujuan penelitian yaitu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan melalui media iklan tenaga kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan siswa SMK melalui media iklan tenaga kerja pada tahap pramenulis dan pemburaman.Model penelitian tindakan kelas dalam penelitian ini meliputi langkah-langkah: perencanaan (planning), tindakan (acting), pengamatan (observing), dan refleksi (reflecting). Di samping itu instrumen penilaian dalam penelitian ini adalah kebahasaan yang meliputi ejaan, kata atau pilihan kata, kalimat, dan bagian-bagian surat meliputi kepala surat, isi surat, dan kaki surat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan dalam menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan siswa SMK melalui media iklan tenaga kerja. Pada tahap refleksi tindakan siklus I didapatkan jumlah nilai 2542 dengan rata-rata nilai kelas 74,75. Pada tindakan siklus II mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dengan jumlah nilai 2905 dengan rata-rata nilai kelas 85,5. Jika merujuk pada kriteria keberhasilan, yakni minimal 80% peserta didik harus mampu melampaui atau paling tidak mendapat nilai minimal 80 yang merupakan nilai standar ketuntasan minimum, berarti pembelajaran sudah berhasil. Media iklan tenaga kerja dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis surat lamaran pekerjaan siswa. Kata kunci: surat lamaran pekerjaan, pramenulis, pemburaman, peserta didik, SMK
