Abstract

A reason for students? low learning outcomes in Basic Mathematics 1 in PGSD FKIP Univer sitas Bung Hatta is found to be errors in answering the questions. This study aims to describe the errors and find factors that cause students errorly answer the questions in Basic Mathematics 1. This is a descriptive research using case study design with interview and test as data collection techniques.  Errors analysis conducted with Newman Procedures shows that 4.89% of students experience Reading error, 8.22 % of students experience Comprehension Error, 12.67%  experience Transformation Error, 15.11% of students experience Process Skill Error, and 1.56% of students experience Encoding Error. Factors that cause errors include abhorrance of math, carelessness in solving problems, reluctance to ask questions during lecture, and the absence of motivation to learn.

Abstract

This paper is about STEM learning activities in the manufacture of solar power plants as an alternative energy source. Learning development by integrating physics and mathematics lessons as well as engineering design to overcome the limitations of electrical energy. The STEM learning activities that will be developed are based on the STEM learning approach by Sutaphan and Yuenyong. This problem will be solved through a project by students. The limited sources of electrical energy in remote areas can be solved by making solar power plants. This solar power plant utilizes solar energy. Through STEM learning, elementary school students are expected to be able to collaborate in applying knowledge about physics, mathematics and engineering design. To make this engineering design, students can take advantage of their knowledge of electrical circuits, engineering design about sizes suitable for installation as well as mathematical calculations. This paper is expected to be able to design STEM learning activities.

Abstract

This research was trigerred by the lack of students’ creativity in solving problems. It has been seen from the lack of students’ curiosity. The students had no desire to find and research, to try finding broad and satisfactory answers, rarely respond to questions raised and rarely give more answers, less enthusiasm in asking questions and examining the questions given by the teacher. The purpose of this study was to describe the creativity and learning outcomes of students in learning Mathematics using the strategy of Creative Problem Solving in class V State Elementary School 10 Koto Baru, Solok District. The type of research was a classroom action research. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one final test cycle. The subjects of this study were the students of class V State Elementary School 10 Koto Baru, around 18 people. The research instruments applied were observation sheet of students' creativity, observation sheet of teaching activity, test of student learning result. Based on the result of observation about students’ creativity in cycle I and II, the creativity percentage in cycle I was 51,1% and increase to 70,55% in cycle II. Based on the results of the study, the percentage of students who achieved mastery learning in the first cycle 50% and increased in cycle II to 72%. This meant that learning Mathematics by using Creative Problem-Solving strategy could improve creativity and learning outcomes of grade V students of State Elementary School 10 Koto Baru. Based on the results of this study, researchers suggested that teachers could use Creative Problem-Solving strategies in learning to improve creativity and students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a mathematics learning module based on a scientific approach in grade IV SD Negeri 38 Kuranji that meets the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is the researchs and development. The research model of development used is the 4-D model of development which define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. Research instruments include validation sheets, practicality sheets (teacher and student response questionnaires) and effectiveness sheets (pre-test and post- test questions). In the validation process, the module is validated by 1 material expert, 1 design expert and 1 linguist. In the practicality process, the module was tried out by 1 teacher and 23 students. Based on this research, development scientifically based approach to learning mathematics in fourth grade produced modules that meet the criteria for very valid with a percentage of 90.29% votes, meet practical criteria with a percentage of 85.66% and meet the criteria of high effectiveness with percentages of 0, 71. So, it can be concluded that the Mathematics learning module based on the scientific approach in grade IV SD is valid, practical and effective as a resource in learning Mathematics in grade IV SD (Elementary School).

Abstract

Abstract

The increasingly rapid spread of the corona virus has had a lot of influence on the world of education. This influence can occur psychologically. One of the effects that occurs is the mathematics anxiety experienced by teachers in online learning. The purpose of this study was to describe the mathematics anxiety experienced by teachers during online learning. The research was carried out with the subject of teachers at SDN 32 Bungo Padang Padang. Descriptive research method with case study design is used in the research. The data collection used in this study was through interviews. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was teacher anxiety in learning mathematics including students did not understanding the subject matter, assignments did not done independently by students, students studied without parental guidance at home, unsupported learning equipment and available networks. To overcome this anxiety, it is necessary to cooperate between teachers, parents and students so that good results in learning are obtained.

Abstract

Elementary school teachers need to master the 21st century skills needed in teaching, namelycritical thinking, creative, collaboration and communication skills. For this effort the author needsto provide knowledge on how teachers can recognize and apply 21st century skills to be used intheir teaching in the classroom. One of them is by providing training on computer thinking skills(computational thinking) to elementary school teachers in the Kapau area, Tilatang KamangDistrict, Agam Regency by making programming using the Scrath application to be used to createlearning media. The training carried out received a fairly good response from the teachers whoattended and they stated that the application used was very suitable for teaching and used byelementary school children and very interested in being able to later apply it to their students inclassroom learning.

Abstract

Minangkabau culture is rich with several mathematical concepts. These mathematical concepts are contained in Minangkabau culture such as custom houses, custom clothes, and traditional food. These mathematical concepts will make a positive contribution for learning mathematics. The purpose of this research is to determine geometric concepts in the form of two dimentional figure that can be seen from custom houses, custom clothes, and traditional food. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. As an initial stage of research, a literature study is conducted first to determine the concept of geometry in mathematics learning. The results of this research are in the form of two dimentional figure of geometry concepts found in Minangkabau culture such as squares, rectangles, parallelogram, trapezoid, rhombus and circle. The concept of geometry in two dimentional figure will help learning two dimentional figure in Primary Schools.
