Abstract

Evaluasi program hadir untuk memberikan masukan, kajian dan pertimbangan dalam menentukan apakah program layak untuk diteruskan atau dihentikan. Dengan kondisi demikian maka istilah evaluasi program menjadi sesuatu yang lumrah di lembaga pendidikan. Kajian ini untuk memberikan ulasan dan pengantar pentingnya sebuah evaluasi program di lembaga pendidikan. Kajian utam dalam tulisan ini adalah pengertian, tujuan dan maanfaat dari evaluasi. Tujuan adanya evaluasi program adalah memberikan pertimbangan sebelum adanya keputusan dari pemilik kebijakan. Manfaatnya adalah adanya keputusan yang tepat terhadap program yang sedang atau sudah dilaksanakan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the role of teachers mentors that is facilitating learning for Primary School Teacher Education students (PGSD) Universitas Pelita Harapan when implementing First Field Experience (PPL 1) program. The implementation of the learning process through PPL 1 for student teachers, was strongly influenced by the role of the mentors teachers. The role teachers mentors to help, to be a role model, to do assessment and to give feedback to students teacher facilitate the students and increase their abilities to understand the whole lesson held at school. The role of teachers mentors were expected to have an influence on students in the second PPL, third PPL, and in other learning activities in campus. The research method applied in this research is descriptive qualitative method in which it will describe the results of student assessment to their teachers mentors when in PPL 1. The assessment is a questionnaire with a range of 1 to 5. The statements in the questionnaire were taken from a field experience handbook of Faculty of Education (Teachers College) Universitas Pelita Harapan about the roles and responsibilities of a teachers mentors. The participants involved in this research were PGSD students. The result is, according to the students, the teachers mentors, have done facilitating learning in PPL 1.Keywords : Teachers Mentors, Facilitating Learning, PPL 1, Observations, Reflections

Abstract

Abstract

Peer tutoring is a learning process that involves students who have high abilities to provide assistance and tutoring to students with lower abilities. There are benefits and constraints faced during the implementation of peer tutoring. This study aims to describe the benefits and constraints of the implementation of peer tutoring in fourth grade through the use of stacked short-division material. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. The data obtained will be processed and described extensively and increasingly detailed, so that the reader will be able to comprehend the data descriptions. This research was conducted at Lentera Harapan Mamit School, Papua. The benefits of its implementation are students can express their learning difficulties directly to the tutor, students style understand the learning materials more easily because it uses the same language among fellow students. Peer tutoring also gives opportunities for students to grow together. The constraints faced are the difficulty in determining a more qualified tutor and in managing the time well because of many steps that must be applied. Preferably, while implementing peer tutoring, there should be a consideration on the selection of tutors by looking at the result of the student exercise periodically and using a timer to remind each step of the way.

Abstract

Development in the world of education is very necessary. Innovation and creativity are needed to update and develop existing products or those that want to be developed according to changing times. Picture books that emphasize character values in accordance with the vision and mission of one Kindergarten located in Central Jakarta are very urgent to develop because, at the school , there is no character education book with the value of servite et amate. This was revealed by the teacher through an interview. Based on observations, it was also found that there was indeed no character education book that was in accordance with the school's vision and mission. Picture storybooks are interrelated books between images and text which are the unity of a story. This study uses the research and development method, with the ADDIE model. The data collection techniques used were instrument validation sheets and feedback tests for children. Through the 4 stages of evaluation from experts, the results of the final validation from design experts, linguists and content experts/material get a value of 100% with a very feasible category. From the results of the trials conducted on 2 different classes of treatment, it was shown that this story book illustrated with Layanilah and Cintailah has benefits for kindergarten children. This is evidenced by the mean obtained from the class without the product, namely four questions that get the highest mean value. The other three questions get a low mean. The illustrated storybooks has a positive impact on the understanding of this school, especially in terms of knowing examples of actions that are consistent with the values of servite et amate.

Abstract

Textbook is one of the primary resources to support teaching and learning. From the survey of the target school, the current secondary mathematics textbook does not match with Curriculum 2013 and heavy in size. Based on that survey, need analysis was conducted and it was recommended that the requirement of the textbook aligned with 2013 Curriculum, using proper English, and light in size. This research purpose is to produce the secondary mathematics textbook that matches the school’s need. The method of research is Research and Development with model of ADDIE. The study was conducted in a private school in Jakarta with 96 students of grade 8 and 10 teachers in 2018. Instruments used are need analysis, validity expert, and test. Analysis of data use description of expert judgment based on content, language and design criteria and descriptive statistic for pre-test and post-test. The result was the textbook is valid and matches with the needs of that school.

Abstract

Meninjau dasar pendidikan Kristen merupakan sebuah upaya untuk menyegarkan kembali pemahaman mengenai tujuan pendidikan. Pendidikan harus memiliki keterpaduan dan intergrasi antara iman, fakta dan ilmu. Hal tersebut tidak bisa dipisahkan, jika dilakukan pemisahan maka pendidikan itu akan mengalami ketimpangan atau “kebutaan”. Pendidikan harus mampu menyadarkan bahwa manusia pada hakikatnya adalah gambar dan rupa Allah. Dasar pendidikan Kristen harus mengacu pada wahyu umum dan wahyu khusus. Alkitab menjadi sumber dan rujukan utama untuk mengajar kebenaran.

Abstract

The picture-story book that emphasize character values in accordance with the vision and mission of Santa Theresia Jakarta Kindergarten is very urgent to develop, because at school, character education books are not available with the value of servite et amate. This was revealed by a teacher through an interview. Based on observations, it was also found that there was indeed no character education book that was in accordance with the school's vision and mission. Character education or moral education in the present context, really needs to be taught and developed, so that children's morals can be formed early. Picture-story book is a book in which there are stories, characters, grooves, backgrounds, themes that are expressed in the form of writings and images that become one unit. Through reading books, it is easier for children to understand the contents and practical examples to apply the character values that they want to teach. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods. The qualitative descriptive is an attempt to explain facts, data, or objects qualitatively in the form of language or discourse by interpreting them appropriately and systematically. Data collection techniques used were interview and observations. This research was conducted at the Santa Theresia Jakarta Kindergarten. The results of the study indicated that picture-story books that were in accordance with the values of servite et amate needed to be created and developed, in order to help children in early childhood easily understood examples of character actions that must be performed. Therefore, schools need to facilitate and fully support, so that kindergarten teachers are given space and opportunities to develop pictorial story books. The content of the story, character, plot, language, selection of diction, choosing the color of the image must be relevant for early childhood.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The beginning reading is the initial stage of reading learning that must be taught from an early age, because it is the basis for students to be able to move to the reading comprehension stage. In the reading beginning, students are taught to recognize letters and letter sounds, stringing letters into syllables, words to compose sentences. When implementing the reading beginning with flashcard there are certainly benefits and constraints encountered. Thus, this research was conducted to describe the benefits and constraints encountered when applying a flascard to the beginning reading learning. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. Qualitative descriptive is an effort to explain facts, data, or objects, qualitatively in the form of language or discourse by interpreting appropriately and systematically. Data is displayed not in the form of quantitative numbers. This research was conducted in one of the private schools in Mamit, Papua. The class observed was grade 1 elementary school. The benefits of applying flashcard to the beginning reading learning is able to attract students' attention, students are not nervous while reading, and help students remember words more easily. While the constraints in implementing flashcards is that it takes a long time. Keywords: Flashcard, Reading, The Beginning Reading ABSTRAK Membaca permulaan merupakan tahap awal dari pembelajaran membaca yang harus diajarkan sejak usia dini, karena hal tersebut merupakan dasar bagi siswa untuk dapat melangkah kepada tahap membaca pemahaman. Saat membaca permulaan, siswa diajarkan untuk mengenal huruf dan bunyi huruf, merangkai huruf menjadi suku kata, kata hingga menyusun kalimat. Saat menerapkan membaca permulaan dengan flashcard tentunya ada manfaat dan kendala yang ditemui. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini diadakan untuk menguraikan manfaat dan kendala yang ditemui saat menerapkan flascard pada pembelajarana membaca permulaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Deskriptif kualitatif adalah upaya menjelaskan fakta, data, atau objek, secara kualitatif dalam bentuk bahasa atau wacana dengan menginterpretasi secara tepat dan sistematis. Data ditampilkan bukan berupa angka-angka kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu sekolah swasta yang ada di Mamit, Papua. Kelas yang di observasi adalah kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar. Manfaat dari penerapan flashcard pada pembelajaran membaca Permulaan adalah mampu menarik perhatian siswa, siswa tidak gugup ketika membaca, dan membantu siswa lebih mudah mengingat kata. Sedangkan kendala dalam penerapan flashcard adalah membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Kata Kunci: Flashcard, Membaca, Membaca Permulaan
