Abstract

From a biological point of view, plant diseases are deviations from internal traits that cause plants to not be able to carry out normal growth activities. Plant diseases in the field can be identified based on signs and symptoms of diseases that appear. This study aims to determine how to diagnose macroscopically the symptoms of diseases that arise due to pathogenic microorganisms on plants. This research was conducted in 3 stages which included the location survey, observation, and primary data collection stages. The method for primary data collection is done by direct observation, namely direct observation of samples and documented. Data were analyzed using the formula to calculate the percentage and intensity of disease attacks on plants. The results obtained were as many as 3 plant species (Capsicum sp, Solanum escelentum, Oryza sativa) from 12 plants which were observed to be attacked by pathogenic microorganisms with a percentage amount (22,45 %, 58,97%, 9%). Obtain 4 types of pathogenic microorganisms that attack plants, namely Gemini virus that causes leaf curling in Capsicum sp plant, Pyricularia oryzae fungus which causes leaf blast in Oryza sativa plants, the fungus Alternaria solani causes dry spot and Rhizoctonia solani fungus which causes leaf blast in Oryza sativa plants, the fungus Alternaria solani causes leaf dry spot and Rhizoctonia solani fungi that cause fruit rot in Solanum escelentum.

Abstract

Fish that are high in protein content are prone to quality degradation. This is strongly thought to be due to the influence of microbes that are inside or outside the fish's body. The use of formalin for food preservatives is not recommended because it can interfere with health. In Indonesia, there are many natural preservatives that are safer to use, such as Murayya koenigii L. Spreng which is rich in antioxidants and has antibacterial properties. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of M. koenigii leaf extract as an inhibitor of bacterial growth in Oreochromis. niloticus fish meat and to measure the maximum concentration of M. koenigii leaf extract. The study used a completely randomized design method (RAL) with one factor, namely the concentration of temurui leaf extract (Murayya koenigii L. Spreng) which consisted of concentrations of 0, 10, 20, 40% (g / mL). The data were taken on storage time, namely 0 days, 1 day, 2 days, and 3 days. The observation parameter used was the inhibition zone diameter (mm) which was analyzed using one way ANOVA. The results showed that temurui leaves have the potential to be used as an inhibitor of microbial growth in O. niloticus fish meat at a concentration of 40% (g / mL) which is the maximum concentration.

Abstract

Pinang (Areca catechu L.) telah dimanfaatkan masyarakat Aceh sebagai obat tradisional dari berbagai penyakit. Namun, informasi terkait khasiat pinang masih terbatas sehingga proses skrining perlu dilakukan untuk menyelidiki potensial pinang terutama sebagai elevator transporter GLUT4 dan fitokonstituen antiproliferatif terhadap sel kanker. Sediaan ekstrak etanol biji pinang diperoleh dari hasil maserasi dengan etanol 96% dan kandungan fitokimia diidentifikasi melalui uji analisis GC-MS. Sebanyak 12 konstituen ditemukan dalam kelimpahan tinggi; methyl nicotinate, 2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one, arecoline, hexadecanoid acid, 9,12-octadecanoic acid, 9,12-octadecanoic acid, ethyl ester, hexadecane, eicosane, 3-nitrophthalic acid, hexacosane, heptadecane dan pentacosane. Setiap konstituen memiliki aktivitas antihiperglikemia sebagai elevator transporter GLUT4 dan antiproliferatif terhadap sel kanker melalui mekanisme aksi yang berbeda.

Abstract

Dayah Mu’ariful Huda merupakan dayah yang terletak di Desa Labuhan Keude Kecamatan Sungai Raya Aceh timur. Dayah Mu’ariful Huda telah mengembangkan berbagai macam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dan pelatihan keterampilan yang diberikan kepada santri diantaranya menjahit, membuat tas, topi, dompet dan aromaterapi. Namun, untuk pembuatan aromaterapi mereka masih menggunakan metode tradisional sehingga memiliki aroma yang tidak tahan lama dan kurang diminati oleh masyarakat. Selain itu, produk-produk kerajinan yang dihasilkan oleh santri masih dipasarkan di tingkat lokal (di lingkungan dayah). Oleh karena itu, salah satu upaya yang perlu dikembangkan yaitu pelatihan pembuatan minyak aromaterapi berbasis reed diffuser sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan ekonomi Santri. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh santri di dayah Mu'ariful Huda terkait dengan keterampilan dalam pembuatan aromaterapi berbasis reed diffuser, sehingga dapat menciptakan santri yang mandiri, selain itu juga untuk memperluas area pemasaran produk-produk hasil kerajinan santri termasuk produk aromaterapi berbasis reed diffuser sehingga dapat meningkatkan outcome bagi santri. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode pendekatan langsung, ceramah dan praktik. Hasil yang dicapai yaitu meningkatnya minat belajar peserta sebesar 85,13%, pengetahuan peserta sebesar 94,65% dan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta sebesar 98,74% dalam membuat dan memasarkan aromaterapi berbasis reed diffuser

Abstract

Melanoma merupakan penyakit kanker kulit yang disebabkan oleh berubahnya sifat-sifat sel melanosit. Virgin coconut oil (VCO) memiliki aktivitas sebagai anti kanker yang sangat baik untuk menghambat induksi karsinogenik. VCO dilaporkan memiliki kandungan asam-asam lemak dengan rantai sedang yang didominasikan dengan asam lemak tak jenuh. Salah satu asam lemak dengan kandungan tertinggi pada VCO adalah asam laurat. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat sekolah tentang penyakit kanker kulit melanoma dan pengobatannya menggunakan VCO kelapa utuh serta cara pembuatan VCO menggunakan metode fermentasi bakteri yang ada di udara. Pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini dilakukan meliputi kegiatan sosialisasi dan eksperimen langsung kepada masyarakat sekolah untuk pembuatan VCO dengan metode fermentasi bakteri yang ada di udara hingga diperoleh VCO, kemudian VCO diaplikasikan pada masyarakat sekolah yang menderita melanoma.

Abstract

The current garbage related problems remain unresolved and will continue to increase. Household waste is one of the largest contributors of organic waste at landfills. Considering that Kampung Durian Village is a location for final waste disposal, it is necessary to provide training and assistance to the community, especially Mrs. PKK and the creative youth of Kampung Durian village in processing organic waste through an Eco-enzyme system (Eco-fermentor) and Bucket stacks (Composter) with Black soldier flies (Hermetia illucens) on a later large scale. It is hoped that this empowerment will be able to expand innovation and increase society's role in helping reduce organic waste at the landfill. The method used in this activity is the direct approach, practice, and lecture method. The approach method is carried out by recording the problems faced by partners regarding organic waste processing. The lecture method is carried out by providing information to partners about the advantages and benefits of using eco-enzymes and stacked buckets with the help of Black soldier flies in treating waste. The practical method is carried out by providing training and assistance in making eco-enzymes and stacked buckets. Based on the survey results after conducting training and direct practice in the field regarding the manufacture of Eco-Enzyme and Stacked Buckets, it shows that the level of public understanding has increased dramatically by 90%. This can be seen from the percentage of people who say they know very well about the manufacture of Eco-Enzyme and Stacked Buckets. The implementation of the program is able to provide understanding and training regarding the manufacture of Eco-Enzyme and Stacked Buckets in organic waste processing so as to reduce the amount of waste

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the extreme poverty citizens in the Rantau Sub-district of Aceh Tamiang Regency through the utilization of moringa leaves. As the local potential, moringa leaves can be processed into innovative biotechnological food products in order to address stunting. The method used for implementing this community service was society-participatory-based training. The instrument used for evaluation was questionnaires. The results of this community service show an excellent improvement in society’s knowledge (82.93%) regarding the utilization of moringa leaves as food to address stunting. In addition, the community members have acquired the skills to produce some biotechnological food products, such as moringa chocolate, moringa tea, moringa cookies, moringa sticks, moringa pudding, and moringa milk.
