Abstract

Kampung Selamat is one of the villages in Tenggulun Sub-district, Aceh Tamiang Regency, which is 45 kilometers from the capital city of Aceh Tamiang. Most of the villagers work as farmers and breeders. Kampung Selamat has high natural resource potential in the livestock sector, but has not been managed optimally. The Dunia Ternak Unggas group is one of the productive livestock business groups in Selamat village that was established in 2019 with the main focus of developing chicken farming. The problems faced by the World Group of Poultry in business development include; (1) The process of hatching chicken eggs is still conventional, which still requires mother chickens; (2) It takes a long time to hatch eggs; (3) The risk of eggs not successfully hatching is still very large; (4) The process of checking chicken eggs is still manual, namely looking directly at the location; and (5) limited land so that the layout of hatching chickens is uncontrollable. To face these challenges, it is necessary to develop hybrid smart eggs incubator technology that can significantly help livestock business groups in increasing chicken productivity and simplifying the breeding process. The steps of implementing the activity include the socialization stage, design and manufacture of tools, as well as training, mentoring, and application of these devices. The results of the implementation of this activity indicate that the level of user satisfaction with the IoT-based hybrid Egg Hatching Machine Incubator reached an average of 87.93%. This fact illustrates that this tool is a solution that is worth adopting to increase efficiency in the hatching process of chicken eggs and has the potential to produce a positive impact on chicken farming and provide solutions to the obstacles faced by livestock business groups.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mitra dalam resirkulasi air tambak berbasis Internet of Things (IoT). Metode pelaksanaan PKM adalah edukasi-persuasif merupakan pendekatan yang dilakukan kepada masyarakat berupa sosialisasi, demontrasi, dan dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan dalam rangka transfer pengetahuan, teknologi, dan resirkulasi air melalui monitoring kekeruhan air tambak berbasis internet of thing. Teknologi resirkulasi air berdasarkan kekeruhan air secara IoT sangat memudahkan pekerjaan dan yang terpenting adalah meningkatkan keberhasilan panen pembudidaya tambak. Selain itu, kegiatan manajemen telah berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya resirkulasi air tambak untuk meningkatkan income. Berdasarkan hasil monitoring dan evaluasi atau monev, kegiatan ini secara keseluruhan telah menggambarkan perkembangan yang memuaskan. Hasil ini diperoleh dari penilaian masyarakat yang senang dan berhasil meningkatkan produktivitas panen pembudidaya tambak.

Abstract

Sign language is a way of visual communication used by people who have limitations in carrying out normal verbal communication. Alphabet sign language is a basic tool used by educators to teach the deaf and mute. However, many people have difficulty communicating with these circles due to a lack of public knowledge about hand sign language. Research on hand sign language has made great progress in processing static images but is still experiencing problems due to difficulties in processing dynamic images/videos considering that most of hand sign language is represented by body, hand and facial movements. This research uses the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method in real time. The research was conducted through the stages of acquisition. The results of this study were conducted in 3 experimental categories, namely trials of all sign language word recognition objects based on angles obtained an accuracy of 85% and trials of all sign language word recognition objects based on distance yielded an accuracy of 93.3% and sign language word recognition based on random positions received an accuracy of 85 %.

Abstract

Heavy equipment or industrial machines have components that involve many variables. The performance of industrial heavy equipment depends on calculating the size of each component so that the machine works optimally. Determining the optimum value of machine component variables is needed so that the machine or industrial equipment can work optimally. The study carried out was to find the optimum variable values ​​for machines or industrial tools using a numerical-computational approach using the bee algorithm. The effectiveness and efficiency of the algorithm will be compared with other methods. The research uses a quantitative approach and is analyzed with statistical descriptions. Based on the results of this research, it is hoped that it can provide a reference for users of industrial equipment in obtaining optimum values. For researchers with similar topics, provides a reference for the application of the bee algorithm in determining function optimization values.

Abstract

The Samudra University Informatics Study Program website serves as a vital information hub for students and other users. The comfort and experience users gain when accessing a website are critical factors to consider when designing a user interface. Currently, the Informatics Study Program website is underutilized. Redesign efforts are necessary to optimize its functionality by developing an improved user interface. Data collection was conducted using evaluations and questionnaires to enhance the user-centered approach. The redesign was carried out using the design thinking method, with the interface designed using Figma tools. Design thinking is a solution-oriented design approach that aids in problem-solving and understanding user needs. Initial evaluations indicate that the average user satisfaction score was at a "Bad" level. After implementing the design thinking process, the new design achieved "Above Average" ratings in attractiveness, perspicuity, efficiency, and dependability, a "Good" rating in stimulation, and an "Excellent" rating in novelty. A comparison of average values reveals significant improvements between the old and new designs: attractiveness improved by 1.14, perspicuity by 1.34, efficiency by 1.52, dependability by 1.57, stimulation by 1.69, and novelty by 1.67. These results demonstrate that the website redesign is effective and enhances the user experience.
