Abstract

This research discussed “Abbreviation Process in Social Media Status on Instagram @dasadlatif1212 (Review of Morphology Aspect)”. This research is motivated by the widespread modification of the Indonesian language in social media status, both from ordinary people, celebrities, and religious leaders who are active on social media. This research aimed to describe the abbreviation process in social media status on Instagram @dasadlatif1212. This research method used a qualitative descriptive method with a morphological approach. The data in this study were in the form of words or sentences containing abbreviations written in 2020, while the source of data in this study was the status written by the Instagram account @dasadlatif1212. The results show that there are four abbreviation processes in the status of the social media account Instagram @dasadlatif1212, namely the process of letter retention, syllable retention, letter retention, and syllables and word abbreviations that summarize the basic lexeme or lexeme combination.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the type of satirical language style in the comment column of Azizah Salsha's Instagram account. This study uses the theory of Gorys Keraf, with a qualitative descriptive research method. The data of this research is in the form of comments from netizens in the comment column of Azizah Salsha's Instagram. The collection of research data was carried out using reading techniques and documentation. The results of the study showed that the types of satirical language styles of netizens in the comment column of Azizah Salsha's Instagram account on September 2 - September 9, 2024, found 3 (three) types of sarcastic language styles, namely irony, cynicism, and sarcasm. The results of the analysis contained 38 (thirty-eight) data, namely 1 (one) style of irony language, 17 (seventeen) styles of cynicism language, and 20 (twenty) styles of sarcasm language.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of the register used by Maxim drivers in the WhatsApp group “Pasukan Anti Sambat.” The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. This type of research is field research. The data collection process involves reading, observing, taking screenshots, interviewing, and note-taking techniques. The data in this study consist of conversational texts containing registers sourced from the utterances of Maxim drivers in the WhatsApp group Pasukan Anti Sambat. The results of this study indicate that there are 18 registers categorized based on the linguistic units they form, which include (1) single forms, totaling 4 data; (2) complex forms, consisting of 3 data formed through affixation, 2 data formed through compounding, 4 data formed through abbreviation (acronyms), and 3 data formed through shortening; and (3) phrases, totaling 2 data.
