Abstract

This study aims to describe the repetition and its effect in the muawwiżatain surah. This research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. Qualitative research is one of the research procedures that analyzes descriptive data in the form of observed speech or writing. Descriptive method aims to describe and analyze data about the style of repetition in muawwiżatain. Repetition is a form of repetition, both in terms of sounds, syllables, words, or sentence parts that are considered important to put pressure in accordance with the expected context. This research confirms the existence of rhetorical language in the form of repetition that is contained and spread in muawiżatain surahs giving greater influence and effect in the hearts and minds of readers. In this study, found 7 (seven) types of repetition, each of which is alliteration, rhyme, asonance, epizueksis, epistrofa, simploke, and anaphora. This research confirms that repetition as a form of language style is very different from repetition as a form of weakness of writers or authors. In addition, repetition has an important role in optimizing the repetition function which incidentally helps in emphasizing the intent and giving certain effects.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to describe the various styles of repetition and their effects in surah al-Shu'arā. Stylistics is a language approach that is used to reveal secrets and understand the contents of the Qur'an, in this case the style of language in surah al-Shu'arā. Design/methods/ approach: This research is included in the category of qualitative research using descriptive analytical methods. Qualitative research is a type of research that analyzes descriptive data in the form of speech or writing under study. The analytical descriptive method aims to analyze and describe data about the style of repetition in surah al-Shu'arā. In addition, this study also uses the “simak” method with “sadap” techniques, which is a technique used to obtain data by “simak” to the use of language in surah al-Shu'arā. Repetition is the repetition of sounds, syllables, words or parts of sentences that are considered important to emphasize in an appropriate context. Findings: From this study it can be concluded that in surah al-Shu'arā found seven styles of language which are grouped into three stylistic domains, namely three styles of language in the phonological levels (al-mustawā al-ṣawṭi), two styles of language in the morphological levels (al-mustawā al-ṣarfī), and two styles of language in the syntax levels (al-mustawā al-naḥwī al-tarkībī). This research confirms that repetition as a form of language style is very different from repetition as a form of weakness of writers or authors. Research implication: From this research, it can be seen that there is an implication that repetition in Surah al-Shu'arā can add to the treasure or richness of meaning in it, such as at the sound level it will produce assonance and rhyme alliteration, at the morphological level it will focus special attention and at the grammatical level it will reveal epizeuxis. as well as anaphora

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interactions and responses of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) community toward the attitudes of the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Institute (LDII) by examining the moderation practices implemented by NU figures and the community in Dasun Village, Lasem Sub-district, Rembang, Central Jawa. The research employs a qualitative approach with a field research methodology. The selection of research subjects was conducted using purposive sampling, focusing on informants with in-depth knowledge of NU's moderatism in Dasun Village. The primary subjects include religious and community leaders, village heads, officials, and religious figures affiliated with both NU and LDII, as well as four community members actively engaged in local activities. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings, analyzed through Talcott Parsons' theory of social change, reveal two key aspects. First, the social interactions of NU members reflect positive engagement, which extends beyond mere spatial coexistence to active participation in both social and religious activities. Second, viewed through Parsons' AGIL framework, NU religious and community leaders in Dasun successfully eliminated socio-religious barriers by fostering unity in communal events without emphasizing specific organizational or ideological affiliations. This approach aimed to build solidarity, cohesiveness, and shared responsibility. Furthermore, the integration of religious and community leaders played a crucial role in leveraging social dynamics to mobilize residents toward harmonious coexistence. This was achieved by maintaining togetherness, social cohesion, and latent solidarity, as well as preserving local traditions and cultural practices. These findings contribute to the theoretical discourse on religious moderation and social integration by demonstrating how grassroots leadership fosters harmony in pluralistic communities.

Abstract

This study investigates the phonological interference of the Javanese language in Arabic communication among students at Pesantren. Arabic is a medium of instruction and daily communication within the pesantren, yet students’ mother tongue often influences their mastery of Arabic. This qualitative descriptive research identifies and categorizes forms of phonological interference—such as the insertion of non-Arabic phonemes like ta, to, e, seh, and yo—which significantly alter the intended meaning in Arabic discourse. Data were collected through structured observations, interviews, and audio recordings. The findings demonstrate a persistent pattern of phonemic substitution and addition that impacts pronunciation, intonation, and syntactic fluency in Arabic speech. This study reveals the linguistic challenges posed by triglossia and bilingualism in traditional Islamic boarding schools. It provides pedagogical recommendations, including phonological awareness training and the integration of contrastive linguistic methods. These insights are vital for developing more adaptive Arabic language instruction tailored to the linguistic realities of pesantren students, thereby contributing to more effective bilingual education frameworks in Islamic learning institutions

Abstract

In surah Al-Kahf verses 60-82, the term bahrain has a deeper connotation than its lexical sense. It is because the passage is linked to the story of Musa and Khidr. The two prophets reflect the several types of knowledge that the term bahrain encompasses. This research aims to examine and uncover the meaning of the word bahrain. This study employed a semiotic approach and a qualitative descriptive research method. The stages in analyzing the data are isytiqaq kabir, syntagmatic-paradigmatic, and semiotics analysis. Isytiqaq kabir was adopted to determine the denotative meaning of the Bahrain word. Syntagmatic-paradigmatic analysis was employed to explain the valence of the bahraini. Semiotics was adopted to analyze the signs in the verses that build meaning. Based on the isytiqaq kabir analysis, the term bahr signifies sea, honor, a prominent position, knowledge, benefit, and being generous. Meanwhile the result of syntagmatic-paradigmatic analysis, bahrain has two seas of knowledge: rational and intuitive knowledge. After going through three stages of linguistic analysis, Allah instructs Musa to learn from Khidr so that he can be wiser in dealing with his people. This research contributes to the treasures of new interpretations of the Qur'anic verses using linguistic concepts and theories.
