Abstract

This study examines the bibliometric analysis of monetary policy in a dual banking system, encompassing Islamic and conventional banks. Monetary policy is a central bank instrument for managing economic stability through interest rate control, inflation regulation, and liquidity management. The study aims to identify publications related to monetary policy in the context of Islamic and conventional banks and to understand research trends in this field. The bibliometric analysis method was employed using VOSviewer software, with data sourced from the Dimensions database spanning 2015-2024. The findings indicate that the United States and Indonesia are the leading countries in terms of publication volume and total link strength. Additionally, the Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business is identified as the most influential journal in this area. Keywords such as Monetary Policy, Dual Banking System, and Islamic Banks frequently appear as dominant research themes. The most influential article is Aysan (2017), which analyzes interest rate sensitivity in Turkey's dual banking system. The study concludes that monetary policy plays a crucial role in both banking systems, with distinct transmission mechanisms. Future research is recommended to utilize broader datasets and integrate bibliometric analysis with qualitative or quantitative approaches to deepen the interpretation of interrelated research topics.

Abstract

This research article delves into the examination of Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence, particularly through the lens of Al-Khatib Al-Sharbini's Tafriqus Sufqah theory. Utilizing the guidance provided by the Fatwa DSN-MUI No. 131/DSN-MUI/X/2019, this study aims to scrutinize the Shariah compliance of CWLS, a contemporary Islamic financial instrument that amalgamates the concept of waqf (Islamic endowment) with sukuk (Islamic bonds), to foster economic and social development projects. The primary objective is to understand how CWLS adheres to Shariah principles by dissecting its structure and operations into separate contracts or agreements, in alignment with Tafriqus Sufqah theory, which advocates for clarity and segregation in financial dealings to avoid ambiguity (gharar), gambling (maysir), and interest (riba). Through qualitative analysis of the fatwa and relevant Islamic financial literature, the study explores the theoretical underpinnings of CWLS, evaluates its compliance with Islamic law, and assesses its innovative approach to integrating charitable giving with financial investments. The findings aim to contribute to the Islamic finance literature by offering insights on the application of Tafriqus Sufqah theory to modern financial instruments like CWLS, highlighting its potential for ethical investment and the challenges of ensuring Shariah compliance. This analysis not only enriches the understanding of Islamic financial products but also provides a model for developing future Shariah-compliant instruments that can meet the needs of contemporary Muslim societies.

Abstract

Even though Indonesia is home to the largest number of Muslims worldwide, the number of people who use Islamic banking services is still somewhat lower than that of conventional banks. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that make student less inclined to choose a syariah bank. This study examines how the environment and perceptions affect confidence and adherence to using a syariah bank by using a quantitative deskriptif method and through SmartPLS analysis. The analysis's findings indicate that the environment has a significant impact on perception, with a koefisien of 0.185 (p < 0,001). Perception also has a positive impact on interest, with a coefficient of 0.417% (p < 0,001). Perception, however, does not indicate a significant impact on decision, with a koefisien of 0.138 (p = 0,074). In addition, interest proven has a significant impact on decision, with a coefficient of 0.709 (p < 0,001). This finding indicates that perception mediates the influence of the environment on interest, The student's final decision is imperceptibly affected by their interest regarding syariah bank products. The results indicate that there are significant effects of the environment on perception, with perceptions influencing the relationship between the environment and interest. However, Perception does not indicate a significant impact on decision, indicating that there is a lack of agreement between interest and nyata. All of this provides a strategic plan to help syariah banks increase their positive credit and turn their interest into a nyata decision.

Abstract

Zakat digitalization is a form of technological adaptation in the Islamic financial system aimed at optimizing the collection and management of zakat in an efficient, transparent, and well-targeted manner. Despite the vast potential of zakat in Indonesia, actual collection remains low. Moreover, challenges such as distribution inequality and limited digital literacy persist in society. In response, BAZNAS Kota Malang has begun to adopt various digital platforms in its zakat services. This study aims to identify and analyze the effectiveness of zakat collection and management at BAZNAS Kota Malang, to examine the strategies used to increase youth participation through digital platforms, and to assess the conformity of digital zakat payment contracts with sharia principles. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that zakat digitalization has improved the effectiveness of zakat collection and management by enhancing accessibility, transaction efficiency, and transparency. BAZNAS Kota Malang utilizes various digital channels such as an official website, e-wallets, QRIS, and collaborations with Islamic banks. However, challenges remain, particularly regarding the sharia compliance of digital contracts and uneven levels of digital literacy in the community. This study recommends ongoing education and the strengthening of sharia aspects in digital zakat services.

The researcher obtained the secondary data from the bank websites and used the purposive sampling technique. The research population and sample comprised Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia from 2018 to 2023. The analysis was conducted using panel data regression and the E-Views 12 software. The research results indicate that, partially, the DPK and FDR positively and significantly influence the Financing Distribution. In contrast, the CAR significantly and negatively influences Financing Distribution. In addition, the GWM and NPF do not show a significant influence on the Financing Distribution. Abstract

Indonesia's economic growth has not fully translated into an increase in inclusive welfare, because the growth of the economy in the first quarter of 2024 was offset by millions of people who are still below the poverty line and experience limited access to education, health, and decent living standards. This study aims to analyze the causal and cointegration relationships between zakat, economic growth, Human Development Index (HDI), and poverty in Indonesia. Using annual data from 2013 to 2023, this study applies the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) approach, including stationarity tests, optimal lag determination, Johansen cointegration test, Granger causality. The results indicate the existence of long-term relationships among the variables, with zakat exerting a significant influence on reducing poverty and improving HDI. However, the influence of zakat on economic growth is relatively insignificant. This research contributes to the Islamic economics literature and provides a strategic policy foundation for optimizing national zakat management.
