Abstract

Many studies have revealed that fraction is a complicated mathematics topic for students. Students struggle to solve problems including comparison and addition of fractions correctly. However, some students often make some common mistakes in solving the mathematics problems. There are three types of errors in solving mathematics problems, which are factual error, procedural error, and computational error. This study was aimed at investigating various mistakes by students in problems related to fractions. A set of validated problems about comparing and adding fractions was assigned to third grade students of SD N Laboratorium Unesa Surabaya. The results indicated that some students were not aware on how to compare and add fractions. Most of these students employed incorrect strategies categorized as procedural and conceptual errors.

Abstract

Developing entrepreneurial characters and skill is one of the goals of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Pancasakti University Tegal. To achieve this goal, the learning process needs to support the development of entrepreneurial characters, such as self-confidence, hard work and unyielding, cooperative, independent, and active and creative. Learning activities should be able to provide opportunities for students to participate actively. Therefore, this study aimed at designing a Maple-integrated workbook to help students establish their entrepreneurial character. The workbook helps students build the character of independent in learning calculus, active and cooperative in solving problems, and creative in using Maple to explore the concept of calculus. This study employed Research and Development by adapting Borg and Gall's steps, which are preliminary information, design, preliminary development, validation and preliminary revision, field test and final revision. The entrepreneurial characters instrument is a questionnaire comprising statements that reflect the characters of entrepreneurship, which are self-confident, hard work, cooperative, independent, and active and creative. The result of questionnaire analysis showed that in general students’ entrepreneurial characters are in a good category, with the average score of entrepreneurial character is 2.85 out of 4.

Abstract

A factor that contributes to students’ low performance in Calculus is that some teachers and lecturers tend to explain the concept of integral by using a set of symbols, notations, and rules without providing any contexts or representations of the concept. This study was aimed at supporting college students’ understanding of integral by integrating Maple in the learning process using Maple-integrated workbook. This study adapted Brog and Galls’ procedures which consist of collecting preliminary information, planning, developing, validation and preliminary revision, field test, and final revision. The subject of this study was college students’ of Mathematics Education Department of UPS Tegal. The result showed that module developed was in a good criteria, and the conceptual understanding test showed that 82,4% students in the experimental class got a score of 71 or higher. Moreover, the average score of the experiment and control class also confirmed that the average of students’ score in experiment class was significantly higher than that of students in control class.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah  mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle berbasis teori behaviorisme pada perkuliahan program studi Pendidikan Matematika UPS Tegal. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan. Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang telah menggunakan LMS Moodle melalui website pmtk.upstegal.com. Jumlah subyek penelitian adalah 107 mahasiswa. Mahasiswa diberikan kuesioner melalui google form pada tampilan LMS Moodle. Persepsi mahasiswa terhadap kepraktisan  Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle berbasis teori behaviorisme adalah sebagai berikut. (1) 76,6 % mahasiswa berpendapat bahasa yang digunakan dalam konten LMS Moodle sesuai dengan pola pikir mahasiswa. (2) 73,8 % berpendapat tampilan yang digunakan menarik dan sesuai dengan materi. (3) 64,2 % berpendapat setuju semua materi yang diberikan dalam konten LMS Moodle terstruktur. (4) 65,1 % berpendapat setuju berkaitan dengan LMS Moodle memberikan umpan balik tugas dari dosen. (5) 63,2 % berpendapat setuju bahwa mahasiswa dapat belajar secara mandiri melalui materi yang telah diupload dalam LMS Moodle.

Abstract

Percentage is found to be a familiar and challenging topic at the same time. Percentage has many application in daily life, yet many students still find it difficult. It might because many schools teach merely a formal procedure and pay less attention to the understanding of the reasoning behinds percentage ideas. This small study employed a design research and aimed at supporting students in understanding percentage by using bar model. Eleven 6th and 7th grade students of American International School of Rotterdam were participated in this study. A sequence of learning activities was designed to help students construct their understanding of percentage. The activities consisted of some rich contextual problems that lead to the emergence of bar model. The result revealed that the model can help students construct students’ knowledge of the relation among numbers in percentage, and also help them solve percentage problems systematically through some intermediate steps which include benchmarks.

Abstract

Sektor pertanian merupakan bagian penting dari aktivitas ekonomi dalam masyarakat. Sektor pertanian yang unggul berhubungan dengan terjaminnya ketahanan pangan. Ketahanan pangan merupakan faktor penting yang harus diperhatikan agar proses industrialisasi dan pembangunan ekonomi berjalan dengan baik. Jika sektor pertanian diolah dengan baik maka akan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Kesejahteraan memerlukan pengelolaan ekonomi yang sebaik-baiknya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang dapat meningkatkan produktivitas diantaranya faktor tanah, modal, tenaga kerja dan manajemen produksi. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah faktor-faktor tersebut mempunyai pengaruh terhadap kesejahteraan petani. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa 86,5% faktor-faktor produktivitas pertanian memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kesejahteraan petani. Faktor-faktor tersebut adalah faktor tanah, modal dan manajemen produksi. Adapun tenaga kerja tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini mempunyai tujuan sebagai berikut: 1) Meningkatnya pengenalan dan pemahaman guru matematika SMP/MTs di Kecamatan Talang Kabupaten Tegal berkenaan dengan penggunaan geogebra dalam pembelajaran matematika. 2) Meningkatnya keterampilan guru matematika SMP/MTs di Kecamatan Talang Kabupaten Tegal dalam menggunakan geogebra dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah 1) Pendidikan masyarakat dengan memberikan materi mengenai pengenalan dan penggunaannya melalui ceramah. 2) Metode pelatihan dilakukan dengan mendemontrasikan geogebra serta mendampingi guru mengenai penggunaan geogebra untuk materi matematika SMP di kelas. Luaran yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah 1) adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru matematika SMP/MTs di Kecamatan Talang mengenai penggunaan geogebra. 2) meningkatnya keterampilan guru matematika SMP/MTs di Kecamatan Talang untuk menggunakan geogebra dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Kata kunci: Pendampingan, Geogebra, Matematika, SMP

Abstract

Application of Lesson Study and Moodle to Improve Learning Process SkillsEmphasizing the process of learning is very important because the learning process will determine learning outcomes. The learning process can provide learning experiences to students so that learning will be more meaningful. Moodle is an application of the concepts and mechanisms of teaching and learning that utilize information technology. The purpose of this research was to describe the application of Moodle-assisted Lesson Study to improve learning process skills at Evaluation Process and Mathematics Learning Outcomes course. The research subjects were 30  students of 4th semester in Mathematics Education Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of  Pancasakti University 2017/2018 academic year. The research process was carried out through 3 cycles. Each cycle consists of three stages: plan, do, see. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out by data collection processes according to Milles and Humberman. The results of the research were obtained  the improvement of the learning process in Evaluation Process and Mathematics Learning Outcomes Course.

Abstract

Proses perkuliahan di program studi Pendidikan matematika belum mengintegrasikan komponen e-learning. Penggunaan teknologi dalam perkuliahan pun masih jarang. Dengan pengintegrasian LMS Moodle dalam perkuliahan tatap muka, akan menunjang terbentuknya blended learning. Adanya implementasi Blended learning pada mata kuliah Geometri transformasi diharapkan  keaktifan mahasiswa semakin meningkat..Penelitian pengembangan pada penelitian ini merujuk pada model pengembangan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluation). Penelitian ini pada tahap Implement (Implementasi), yaitu menguji cobakan produk di lapangan untuk mengetahui pencapaian tujuan pengembangan produk.Implementasi Blended learning pada mata kuliah Geometri transformasi diharapkan  keaktifan mahasiswa semakin meningkat. Hal ini dapat terlihat pada presentase mahasiswa yang berpartisipasi pada kelas LMS moodle nya atau dalam blended learning; grader report serta perbedaan nilai geometri transformasi. Diharapkan dalam mengimplementasi Blended learning akses jaringan internet yang tersedia harus memadai sehingga tidak menghambat proses login ke sistem LMS Moodle.
