Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This article analyzes how Padungku, an indigenous tradition of the Pamona tribe, became a concept of ecclesiology after the Poso conflict through the perspective of interfaith ecclesiology. The main problem in the Poso conflict is the clash between two different religious groups from each other so that all kinds of relationships of any kind between the two seem to be tightly closed, and there is no hope of opening up again. This paper uses a literature method to explore how Padungku became a new ecclesiological concept in the Poso community. The results found that through Padungku and the perspective of interfaith ecclesiology as aids, it will be seen that long-entrenched indigenous traditions played a role in unlocking all sorts of things that were not originally possible post-conflict. This openness is also inseparable from how its values are in line and accordance with ecclesial principles.

Abstract

One of the duties of the church is to carry out deaconess, which is to provide services to people experiencing distress. However, the church tends only to carry out internal deaconess to its members. In Indonesia, most churches have a pluralistic social environment with different religious communities. The research intends to examine the possibility of cross-religious deaconess based on Karl Rahner's idea of universal ecclesiology. The research method used is a literature study. The data was taken by tracing Rahner's central concept of universal ecclesiology, especially the anonymous Christian idea, on secondary sources. The research results show that interfaith deaconess is possible because it manifests the mysterious existence of God's work of salvation. Faith in God is not a metaphysical-abstract hope but accurate in historical experience. Deaconess across religions also illustrates the presence of the Triune God, who is always in His relationship with humans. The Triune God is not isolated but is present in the actions of the church's faith in society.

Abstract

This research aims to explore alternative models of disability. The charity, medical, social, rights-based and cultural models of disability have had a tendency to bring disability into aperichoreticd stigmatizing categorization. The “model” approach to disability, which originally acted as a means of liberation, instead isolates disability in the category of people who are weak, sick, have no potential, have no rights and therefore deserve the identity of sinners. Disability as a social construct is the result of the strong hegemony of eugenics that upholds normality. Postcolonial approaches aid resistance to colonialism and colonialist ideologies that emerge in new forms. The dominance of normality ideology places disability against abnormality, including domination and marginalization of disability. The perspective of normality against abnormality, non-disability against disability shows a negative relationship between two human entities. For this reason, an alternative model is needed, a relationship whose existence is actually emphasized by the other. One does not exist without the other. I exist because you exist. This relationship is only possible if the existing relationship is a reflection of the trinitarian relationship, where the perichoretic relationship between God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit becomes the basis for understanding human relations between both disabilities and non-disabilities.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of a landslide disaster on the spiritual life of the Evangelical Christian Church in Timor (GMIT) Victory Noelmina congregation, which consists of members from Noelmina Village and its surrounding areas. The research focuses on the effects of the disaster on the congregation's spirituality, including the intensity of worship, involvement in church ministry, and spiritual resilience in facing trauma and loss. This study employs a qualitative method with a single case study approach. The research subjects are three families from the GMIT Victory Noelmina congregation directly affected by the disaster, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted thematically through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the landslide disaster increased the congregation's spirituality. Worship attendance rose from 60% to 91%, and participation in church ministries such as prayer meetings and catechetical worship increased. Spiritual resilience became a key factor in trauma recovery, where the congregation interpreted the disaster as an opportunity to strengthen their relationship with God and others. In conclusion, the disaster brought negative impacts and catalyzed spiritual growth and community solidarity, relevant to Christian theology in addressing life's challenges.
