Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving different types of nutrients on the growth of kale in hydroponic wick system. The study was a single factor experiment with two treatments using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 7 replications. The treatment given was inorganic fertilizer AB Mix and NPK plus inorganic fertilizer. Nutritional concentration was given as much as 10 ml/liter. The results showed that the type of nutrient treatment was significantly affected the growth of plant height at age 14 days after planting (DAP) and 21 DAP. At age 28 DAP there was no real effect. The producing of leaves number was differences at all stages. Provision of nutrition AB mix produced higher plant height at 14 DAP (15.9 cm) and 21 DAP (19.3 cm). The parameter of leaf number, AB mix yield more leaves at 14 hst (8,1 strand), 21 hst (11,1 strands) and 28 DAP (13,4 strands) respectively.

Abstract

This research aims to study the growth response of plant leaf cuttings mother in-law’s tongue (Sansevieria parva) origin of cuttings and various plant growth regulator treatment. Research was using complete randomized block design (RAKL) with 6 replications. The first factor was the origin of cuttings, i.e. the top/tip leaves, the middle leave, and the bottom/leaves base. The second factor was the various plant growth regulator (PGR) treatment i.e. onion extracts, water coconut and Rootone-F. Parameters observed and measured is the experiment root length, number of roots, root wet weight and root dry weight. The results showed that plant growth regulator treatment significant effect on root length, number of roots, root wet weight, and root dry weight. The treatment combination of origin of cuttings and synthetic plant growth regulator by cutting material from the middle to give the best results on the number of root and root wet weight.

Abstract

Cekaman kekeringan dapat menyebabkan perubahan sistem perakaran tanaman kedelai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mempelajari sistem perakaran beberapa genotipe kedelai pada kondisi kekeringan pada fase vegetatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di rumah kaca Cikabayan-IPB menggunakan sepuluh genotipe kedelai (Ratai, Seulawah, Slamet, Tanggamus, Wilis, GC 22-10, PG 57-1, SC 21-5, SC 39-1, SP 30-4) dan PEG (0%, 20%). Cekaman kekeringan hanya diberikan pada fase vegetatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cekaman kekeringan dengan simulasi PEG berpengaruh terhadap panjang akar, jumlah cabang akar dan bobot kering akar.

Abstract

Crop respotwes to drought stress depend on their gerctypes.The purpose of this research was to study the effect of drought stress the growth chqracters of soybean.research was conducted in the Cikabayan greenhouse-IPB using three genotypes of soybean (Slamet, Tanggamus and Wilis) and PEG (0%, 20%). The drought stress was applied only at a vegetative phose. The result showed that the interaction between genotype and PEG, significant. effect on root-shoot length ratio. Drought stress vtith PEG ;imulation causedthe changes in the growth characters of soybean i.e. on shoot length, root-lenght, root-shoot length ratio, leaf dry weight and root dry weight.

Abstract

Pathogen attacks often occur on oil palm plants, particularly on the central nursery. Factors that affect the attack are plant and environmental factors. This study aims to determine the location of planting (temperature and humidity) and the administration of KCL fertilizer on the invasion of fungal pathogens on oil palm plants (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) In nurseries (Main - nursery). This research was carried out on Jalan Jendral Sudirman Km. 9, Pasir Putih Village, Baamang District, East Kotawaringin Regency, Sampit. The testing of palm oil seedling samples was carried out at the Plant Quarantine Laboratory, Palangka Raya Class II Agricultural Quarantine Center. The design of this study was Split Plots Design. The planting location factors were considered to be more influential, so they are placed as main plots with three levels, namely the location of the greenhouse, open space and using 80% paranet and KCL fertilizer as a subplot with two levels. Each plot was compiled with RAL with four replications. The results of the study obtained both planting systems, environmental factors in the form of temperature and humidity, as well as giving KCl fertilizer as a whole have a significant effect on the growth of fungal pathogens on oil palm plants. In cultivating oil palm plants, it is recommended to use the planting system in open land by providing KCl fertilizer.

Abstract

Water hyacinth, giant salvinia and water lettuce are widely available in Central Kalimantan that can be used as organic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the nutrient content of solid and liquid organic fertilizers in water hyacinth, giant salvinia and water lettuce fertilizers. The results showed that solid organic fertilizer/compost and water hyacinth, water lettuce and giant salvinia liquid fertilizer have nutrient content needed by plants. In solid fertilizers, the Nitrogen of giant salviniacontent was 2.43% and lack of the minimum standard of solid organic fertilizer, while Phospor and Potassium content were not included in the standard. In liquid organic fertilizer, Nitrogen, Phospor and Potassium content were not included in the minimum standard organic fertilizer requirements

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect interaction of application of types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production and fruit quality of melons on peatlands, effect of application of types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production and fruit quality of melons on peatlands, and the agronomic efficiency of the use of several types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production of melons on peatlands. This research design was used as a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consists of two factors with 4 replication. The first factor consisted of types of organic fertilizer (P) i.e. chicken manure (PA), guano manure (PG), and cow manure (PS). The second factor consisted of fertilizer dosage (D) i.e. 0 tons ha-1 (without fertilization, called control), D1 = 15 tons ha-1, D2 = 30 tons ha-1 and D3 = 45 tons ha-1. The data obtained by analysis of variance (ANOVA) or F test at α = 5% and 1% levels to determine the effect of treatment was tested further by HSD (honestly significant difference) testat the level of 5%. The result shows that the interaction type of organic fertilizer and the dosage of organic fertilizer treatment significant effect on the weight of the melon. Chicken manure is the best organic fertilizer on the size and quality of the melon. Dosage of 45 tons ha-1 organic fertilizer gave the highest results but it was not significantly different with a dosage of 30 tons ha-1. The use of chicken manure fertilizer of 30 tons ha-1 is more efficient in agronomy in increasing melons yield on peatlands.

Abstract

Drought condition caused the changes in leaf morpho-physiological characters of soybean plant on drought stress. The purpose of this research was to study the leaf morpho-physiological characters of soybean plant on drought stress. Research was conducted in the Cikabayan greenhouse-IPB using complete randomized block design (RAKL) with 5 replications. First factor was soybean genotypes i.e. Slamet, Tanggamus and Wilis. Second factor was PEG i.e. PEG 0% and 20%. The drought stress was applied only at a vegetative phase. The result showed that drought stress with PEG simulation caused the changes in leaf morpho-physiological characters of soybean plant were trifoliat leaf number and leaf thickness. Leaf morpho-physiological characters of soybean that could be used as markers for adaptation under drought stress.

Abstract

Tanaman sorgum merupakan tanaman alternatif yang populer sebagai bahan pangan, bahan baku industri bioetanol dan sumber pakan ternak. Penggunaan teknik budidaya yang tepat dalam budidaya sorgum dapat meningkatkan hasil tanaman sorgum. Batang sisa panen berpotensi sebagai sumber gula alami yang bernilai ekonomis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan menguji pengaruh pupuk kandang ayam dan NPK pada tanah berpasir terhadap jumlah ruas batang dan tingkat kemanisan batang sorgum.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dan NPK tidak berpengaruh terhadap jumlah ruas batang sorgum. Perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dan NPK berpengaruh terhadap tingkat kemanisan batang sorgum. Tingkat kemanisan batang sorgum tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dosis 30 ton/ha dan NPK dosis 300 kg/ha yaitu 7,783 obrix. Perlakuan yang efisien untuk mendapatkan tingkat kemanisan batang sorgum yaitu perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dosis 20 ton/ha dan NPK dosis 300 kg/ha. Batang sorgum bagian bawah memiliki tingkat kemanisan yang lebih tinggi yaitu 6,352 obrix (setara dengan kadar gula sebesar 3,527 %), dibandingkan batang bagian atas dan tengah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari korelasi antara peubah pertumbuhan yaitu tinggi tanaman, nisbah pucuk akar, diameter batang terhadap hasil produksi cabai rawit (Capsicum frutescens) di tanah gambut sebagai komponen penentu produksi cabai berdasarkan nilai korelasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan di Kebun Percobaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya. Penelitian dilakukan di polibag, dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson, korelasi parsial dan korelasi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji korelasi Pearson bahwa tinggi tanaman, dan diameter batang memiliki hubungan positif dan bernilai sedang dengan berat buah cabai, sedangkan nisbah pucuk akar memiliki hubungan negative terhadap berat buah cabai. Hasil analisis korelasi parsial menunjukkan bahwa variabel tinggi tanaman dengan nisbah pucuk akar berkorelasi positif dan berkriteria cukup. Hubungan variabel nisbah pucuk akar dengan diameter batang berkorelasi positif dan termasuk kriteria korelasi kuat terhadap berat buah. Hasil uji korelasi berganda menunjukkan bahwa tinggi tanaman, nisbah pucuk akar, diameter batang berpengaruh negative terhadap berat buah cabai.
