Abstract

In an effort to develop an anchovy processing industry on Pasaran Island in order to increase the selling value and quality of the processed products, in 2003 the community began to change the fish processing system. The development of this processing industry will certainly have an impact on the socio-economic conditions of the community. This study aims to identify the impact of the development of anchovy processing industry in Pasaran Island on the socio-economic conditions of the community. In responding to this research, quantitative analysis was used to see changes in the socio-economic conditions of the community before and after the development of the fish processing industry. Qualitative descriptive analysis to describe the impact and spatial linkages of Pasaran Island anchovy processing activities on the socio-economic. From the results of the analysis it was found that the development of the anchovy processing industry in Pasaran Island had an impact on the socio-economic conditions of the community. These impacts include changes in employment opportunities, housing conditions, infrastructure development, ownership of living facilities, income and expenses. The impact on employment opportunities such as opening jobs, especially women workers from outside the island. The impact on housing conditions such as the change of buildings from wooden houses to permanent houses. The impact on infrastructure development such as easy access to clean water, electricity and road conditions. The impact on ownership of living facilities such as an increase in the number of ownership of living facilities. Impact on income and expenses such as increased income and expenses. Furthermore, the spatial linkage of anchovy processing activities that agglomerate on Pasaran Island results in an even distribution of the socio-economic conditions of the community.

Abstract

Population growth and new activity center development give impact on enhancement of residential demand. That demand always improves without be accompanied land availability and that can impact urban sprawl. The research locations are Natar and Jati Agung Sub-district which are designated as urban housing area, located on the outskirts of Bandar Lampung City. Activities will encourage the growth of demand of the private residential property thus this also encourage the building of residential area. The purpose of the research is to identify residential growth rate in the research locations. The research is conducted by using deductive approach. Data is collected by observation, interview, and literature review. Data is analyzed by using spatial analysis methods, nearest neighbor analysis, qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The result of research explains that the highest residential growth rate in Natar Sub-district is 109.44% in 2017 and in Jati Agung Sub-district is 110.50% in 2019. Cluster residential pattern in Natar Sub-district with distribution index value (T) is 0.760346 tends to grow on the primary arterial road. While the same pattern shown in Jati Agung Sub-district with the distribution index value (T) is 0.817923 and tends to grow among new activities center in the South of Jati Agung Sub-district.

Abstract

A livable city is a comfortable condition in an urban environment to become a place for activities and a place to live by considering at two aspects, which are physical and non-physical aspect. The city of Bandar Lampung is part of the 10th bottom-tier city with a comfort index of 56% based on the Most Livable City Index (MLCI) in 2017. There are several aspects that are not feasible according to the MLCI assessment. Those five aspects are pedestrian facilities, city park facilities, development information and community participation, sewage and drainage management, and transportation. The aim of this study is to formulate a strategy on the priority aspects of livable city in Bandar Lampung using a deductive approach and data collection techniques through observation and interviews. This research is conducted by using Analytical Hierarchy Process and SWOT analysis. The result shows that the priority aspect that needs to be improved in order to make livability in Bandar Lampung is by improving sewage and drainage management. And the strategies that is formulated to improve the sewage and drainage management are optimizing routine maintenance on tertiary and secondary drainage as a preventive measure against floods, optimizing the development of Community-Based Total Sanitation to reduce pollution in drainage, and strengthening the coordination between the government and the community in environmental maintenance, especially drainage.

Abstract

The development of a city takes place rapidly due to its attractiveness from both economic and non-economic sides. Rural conditions that are inversely proportional to urban areas drive urbanization. Natar District, part of the Bandar Lampung Metropolitan Area and adjacent to Bandar Lampung City, has undergone changes in morphological patterns. Identifying the morphology of a city area is critical for its development to avoid morphological defects or urban sprawl. This research used a deductive approach, referring to Smailes’ theory, identifying morphology using 3 components: road network patterns, land use and building patterns and densities. In 2012, the morphological pattern in Natar District was linear beaded with the Lintas Sumatra Road as a linear line and Radin Inten II Airport Area, Rejosari Station, Natar Traditional Market, and Hajimena Village as beads (morphological core). In 2022, the morphological pattern in Natar District has developed, still having beaded linear pattern, but there are an additional 2 beads as the core morphology, namely the office, trade and services areas Merak Batin and Natar Toll Exit Area. The development of Natar District is influenced by external factors such as its position adjacent to Bandar Lampung City and internal factors such as facilities and infrastructure.
