This research is motivated by concerns about the fading of the meaning of local culture due to the development of popular culture that tends to ignore traditional values. The Domba Garut Dance by Sanggar Galura Kencana was chosen as the object of study because it is believed to hold cultural symbols that represent the identity of the Garut people. By using a qualitative method and ethnographic approach, and based on the theory of symbolic interactionism, this research aims to reveal the symbolic meaning contained in dance movements, makeup, costumes, music, and dancers' roles. Data was obtained through observation and in-depth interviews with choreographers and dancers. The results showed that dance movements represent Garut sheep in the art of agility known as dashing, make-up and costumes symbolize strength, simplicity, and courage, while music and poetry strengthen the nuances of fighting. This dance can be performed by men and women as long as they are able to internalize the symbolic value in question. In conclusion, Domba Garut Dance is not just a performing art, but a symbolic communication medium that represents cultural identity and a means of local education that needs to be preserved. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kekhawatiran terhadap lunturnya makna budaya lokal akibat perkembangan budaya populer yang cenderung mengabaikan nilai Tradisional. Tari Domba Garut karya Sanggar Galura Kencana dipilih sebagai objek kajian karena diyakini menyimpan simbol-simbol budaya yang merepresentasikan identitas masyarakat Garut. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan etnografi, serta berlandaskan teori interaksionisme simbolik, penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap makna simbolik yang terkandung dalam gerak tari, tata rias, kostum, musik, dan peran penari. Data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam dengan koreografer dan penari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gerak tari merepresentasikan Domba Garut dalam seni ketangkasan yang dikenal dengan gagah. Make up atau tata rias dan kostum menjadi simbol kekuatan, kesederhanaan, dan keberanian, sedangkan musik dan syair memperkuat nuansa pertarungan. Tari ini dapat dibawakan oleh laki-laki maupun perempuan selama mampu menginternalisasi nilai simbolik yang dimaksud. Kesimpulannya, Tari Domba Garut bukan sekadar seni pertunjukan, melainkan media komunikasi simbolik yang merepresentasikan identitas budaya dan sarana edukasi lokal yang perlu dilestarikan.

This study explores how students develop their interpersonal communication skills through the Kampus Mengajar program at Universitas Garut. The focus is on how students adapt and learn to communicate within their partner school environments, and how the program’s duration and social support play a role in this process. Using a qualitative approach, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation.Findings reveal that the development of interpersonal communication soft skills occurs gradually and is strongly influenced by sufficient adaptation time, support from supervisors, school teachers, peer interactions, and community engagement. The process involves not only technical communication aspects but also building warm, trusting, and empathetic relationships. Students learn to adjust their communication style according to the characteristics and needs of students as well as the surrounding cultural environment. Intensive interaction and ongoing guidance are key factors in strengthening students’ interpersonal communication skills during the program. These findings illustrate that developing soft communication skills is a dynamic process involving various social elements and adequate time.

This study aims to understand the interpersonal communication patterns of fatherless women whose fathers exhibited signs of mental illness within the cultural framework of the Sundanese community. Utilizing a transcendental phenomenological approach, qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews with four informants who had experienced emotional absence and communication breakdown with their fathers during childhood. The findings reveal that persistent emotional absence and dysfunctional communication in the father-child relationship created significant barriers to openness, contributed to emotional regulation difficulties, and fostered unhealthy attachment styles in adult romantic relationships. Family communication manifested as one-directional, closed, or emotionally tense interactions—reflecting the five dimensions of interpersonal communication theory by Joseph A. DeVito. Psychological insights confirm that unresolved early emotional wounds influence relational dynamics in adulthood. This study contributes to communication scholarship by highlighting the intersection of cultural values and family communication structures in shaping emotional resilience. It underscores the critical role of emotional presence and open dialogue within familial and cultural systems as protective factors for the psychological well-being of fatherless women. Implications for culturally sensitive family interventions and research directions are discussed.

The educational problems faced include the low effectiveness of new student admissions in madrasah education. It is thought that the management of the student admissions program could have been more optimal due to the influence of the implementation of the new student admissions policy, which has not been optimal, resulting in the effectiveness of student admissions not being optimal. The research aims to analyze the implementation of the new student admissions policy on managing the student admissions program to realize the effectiveness of student admissions. The research method used in this research is the analytical description method using observation, survey, and documentation study techniques. The data analysis technique used to answer this research hypothesis is statistics using a path analysis model. The population and respondents for this research were 51 teaching and educational staff at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Mu'awanah and Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Hidayatul Iman. The results of testing the central hypothesis using path analysis testing are: "There is an influence of the implementation of the new student admissions policy on the management of the student admissions program to realize the effectiveness of student admissions." Based on the test results, the Fcount value is more significant than Ftable, namely tcount = 110.4829 > ttable = 2.0117. From these values, a statistical conclusion can then be obtained, namely that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted so that the implementation variable of the new student admissions policy (X) has a positive effect on the management of the student admissions program (Y) to realize the effectiveness of student admissions (Z). The test results on the sub-hypotheses show that implementing the new student admissions policy positively and significantly affects managing the student admissions program. Student admissions program management has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of student admissions. Implementing the new student admissions policy has a positive and significant impact on the efficacy of student admissions.

This study aims to comprehensively describe and analyze the implementation, supporting factors, inhibiting factors, and the formulation of a transformational leadership development model for the principal in improving the quality of Islamic education at MTs. Al-Basyariyah Cisurupan Garut.This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were systematically collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving key informants such as the principal, vice principals, teachers, staff, committee, and students. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The principal effectively implemented the four dimensions of transformational leadership: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. Despite internal constraints such as limited digital literacy and external policy dynamics, this leadership successfully enhanced teachers' commitment, instructional innovation, students' religious character, and public trust. This research produces a novel Islamic Integrative Transformational Leadership Model, synthesizing Bernard M. Bass's four transformational dimensions with four essential Islamic values: moral, spiritual, Islamic culture, and maslahah (public benefit). This confirms that Western theories require religious integration to optimize Islamic educational institutions.
