Abstract

Anaemia is a global problem for pregnant women. The WHO states that the incidence of anaemia in pregnant women is 48.9%. Central Java's anaemia rate is 57.7%, while Brebes Regency's anaemia rate is 50%. According to the Brebes District Health Office, this problem lies in pregnant women's adherence to taking iron supplement tablets. The study aimed to determine the factors influencing the consumption of blood-supplemented tablets by pregnant women at the Buaran Health Center. This research method was a quantitative analytic survey with a cross-sectional design, with a population of 96 third-trimester pregnant women. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with 49 respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately (using chi-square statistics). The results showed that the factors associated with the consumption of iron tablets were knowledge (p-value=0.013), motivation (p-value=0.037), family support (p-value= 0.019), ANC visits (p-value=0.000), and compliance (p-value=0.002). The suggestion is that pregnant women at the Buaran Health Centre increase awareness about consuming blood-supplemented tablets to maintain the health of the mother and baby and that advice from health workers is needed every time pregnant women carry out an ANC examination at a health facility.

Abstract

According to data collected from Midwifery Clinician Tri Utami Sari S.SiT Manyaran Semarang in 2022, injectable contraceptive users ranked first when compared to those using pills, condoms, IUDs, and implants. However, the use of 1-month injections is more common than 3-month injections. One of the factors is that the Fertile Spouse knowledge about 3 months of injectable contraception is still low, and the lack of support of the husband. This matter means that the use of 3 months of injective contraception is still small, approximately 300 of the 1240 participants. This cross-sectional study determined the correlation between a mother's knowledge and the use of a one-month injectable contraception. The study's population included a woman of fertile age who received a 1-month injectable contraception at the Midwifery Clinician Tri Utami Sari, S.SiT Manyaran. The researcher used a purposive sampling technique to gather a sample of 50 respondents. The Spearman rank correlation test found a p-value of less than 0.029, indicating no correlation between mother knowledge and one-month injectable contraception at Midwifery Clinician Tri Utami Sari S.SiT Semarang in the year 2023.

Abstract

A Caesarean section, or C-section, is a surgical procedure where a baby is delivered through an incision made in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. To aid the healing of post-Caesarean wounds, mothers need not only antibiotics but also a diet that provides high-quality nutrition and adequate calories. The research question being investigated is: "Do Age, Parity, Education, and Occupation Affect the Healing Process of Post-Caesarean Wound Stitches?" This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a Post-test Only Control Group Design. The study population includes mothers who had a C-section at Pemalang Hospital. Participants were divided into two groups: 49 received catfish extract tablets (the experimental group), and 49 received standard wound care (the control group). Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling techniques. Data were analyzed through both univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed a p value of 0.000 for the experimental group and 0.046 for the control group (both p values < 0.05), indicating that catfish extract tablets significantly influence the healing process of post-Caesarean wound stitches..

Abstract

Adolescents represent an age group highly susceptible to health issues, particularly sexually transmitted infections (STIs), due to limited knowledge and restricted access to accurate information. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of health education in improving adolescents’ knowledge about STIs at SMK Tamansiswa Boja Kendal. The study employed a quantitative pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 32 students were selected using accidental sampling. The intervention consisted of health education delivered through booklets and posters. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Findings revealed a substantial increase in knowledge after the intervention. Prior to the education, 96.9% of respondents demonstrated low knowledge, and only 3.1% had sufficient understanding; after the intervention, 100% of participants achieved a high level of knowledge. The Wilcoxon test yielded a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically meaningful difference before and after the intervention. These results confirm that health education is effective in enhancing adolescent understanding of STIs. Similar programs are recommended to be implemented regularly in educational settings as part of reproductive health promotion and disease prevention efforts..
