Abstract

This study analyzed the impact of smartphone addiction on learning outcomes between males and females on learning outcomes. Several studies have analyzed the effects of smartphone addiction on student learning effectiveness. However, there are a lot of gaps in these studies, such as the selected sample, in which all the respondents are assumed to belong to a gender group. In this work, we categorize each respondent, based on gender, into male and female. 500 students from public and private universities in Indonesia participated in this study. The independent-sample t-test, linear correlation, and regression analysis determined the result. It was found that smartphone addiction had a significant negative correlation with learning outcomes in male students and no significant correlation in female students. Male students’ smartphone addiction had a higher effect on learning outcomes than females, with a percentage of 33.7%. This study contributes to improving the gender perspective on learning issues.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the model adopted based on Muslim consumer perceptions of taxes through the zakat system. This research uses three stages of comprehensive technical analysis through demographic depiction of respondents based on distribution frequently, then tests the adopted factors using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) to select and determine the number of factors and related items. In the final stage, data analysis is carried out in the form of the modeling technique using Structure Equations Model (SEM) to test the quality of the models and hypotheses produced. 152 respondents were collected who were sampled in this study, the majority of respondents are 77 Malaysian citizens  and 75  Indonesian residents. At the testing stage of the model through the Structural Equation Model (SEM), based on the results of the formation factors in the test, it can be said that only the knowledge about tax, religious, and service variables have an impact on perception toward through zakat system positively and significantly, but through testing the serviceability of a model results in a determinant coefficient of 0.668, which it was relatively strong to explaining independent variable.

Abstract

The development of financial technology (fintech) has brought significant changes to people's transaction patterns, particularly among university students, with the increasing use of digital wallets. This phenomenon is influenced by various factors, including digital literacy, financial attitude, herd behavior, and these factors impact on financial well-being. Therefore, this study aims to construct a structural model of digital wallet usage and how it impacts the financial well-being of students. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method to examine the relationships between variables. Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to students who actively use digital wallets. The results show that digital literacy has the largest total effect on financial well-being through two pathways: a direct influence and an indirect influence through the use of digital wallets. The total effect of digital literacy is high, making it the dominant predictor in the model. The research results show an R² value for the digital wallet usage variable of 0.508, which falls into the moderate category, while for the financial well-being variable it is 0.723, which falls into the high category. Digital literacy (LD) has established itself as the most fundamental determinant in the digital financial ecosystem. It serves not only as the primary driver of digital wallet (PDD) adoption by enhancing perceived usefulness and ease of use, consistent with the extended technology acceptance model, but also contributes directly and significantly to improving financial well-being (FWB) by facilitating access to financial information and products, aligning with the digital divide theory.

Design/Methode/Approach : Systematic Literature Review Research Finding : As many as 30 antecedent variables were obtained that affect the financial literacy of the millennial generation Theoretical contribution/Originality : The research subjects in the form of relevant research articles were taken through the Google Scholar, Elsevier, Emerald, Garuda portal, etc. as many as 214 articles were detected through the keywords of financial literacy, financial knowledge, retirement, financial decisions, financial management, and financial welfare. The articles were then extracted into only 60 research articles. Of these 60 articles, correlational meta-analysis was carried out. The results of the meta-analysis show that there are 30 antecedent variables that affect the financial literacy of the millennial generation. Practitionel/Policy implication : The results of this study will help policy makers to fill the missing gap between financial literacy programs and the confidence to undertake entrepreneurial ventures.
