ANALISIS DAN IMPLEMENTASI MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (MFA) UNTUK MENCEGAH SERANGAN BRUTE FORCE PADA SSH MIKROTIK Diaandisy, Eureka; Risqiwati, Diah

Abstract

Keamanan SSH pada perangkat Mikrotik sangat penting mengingat risiko serangan brute-force yang dapat merusak sistem jaringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas penerapan Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) dalam mencegah serangan brute-force pada SSH MikroTik RouterOS. MFA diimplementasikan menggunakan One-Time Password (OTP) melalui RADIUS dan User Manager. Metode pengujian melibatkan simulasi serangan brute-force menggunakan aplikasi penguji keamanan pada dua skenario: sistem tanpa MFA dan sistem dengan MFA. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa pada sistem tanpa MFA, serangan berhasil memperoleh kredensial pengguna dalam waktu sekitar 335 detik, sedangkan pada sistem dengan MFA, serangan gagal menembus autentikasi sehingga hanya menghasilkan percobaan login yang berulang dalam durasi 332 detik. Selain itu, penggunaan CPU dan bandwidth relatif stabil pada kedua skenario, dengan pemakaian CPU maksimum sekitar 14 persen dan rata-rata 2 persen, sedangkan bandwidth tercatat pada kisaran 9,41–9,59 Kb. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan MFA dapat meningkatkan keamanan SSH MikroTik secara signifikan tanpa menimbulkan beban sistem yang berarti. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan MFA sebagai lapisan keamanan tambahan pada lingkungan jaringan produksi untuk mencegah serangan brute-force. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan metode autentikasi yang lebih canggih, seperti berbasis biometrik atau FIDO, di masa mendatang.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of communication technology has contributed to the widespread adoption of Android devices within society, accompanied by a corresponding increase in digital security threats, including Trojan-Spy malware. This type of malware disguises itself as a legitimate application while covertly accessing users’ personal data. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of Trojan-Spy malware on the Android operating system using a reverse engineering approach. This method was selected due to its capability to deconstruct and identify the internal structure and concealed behavior of malware. The sample analyzed in this research was the application UndanganPernikahan.apk, which was distributed through a WhatsApp message. The research was conducted through several stages, including initialization, decompilation, static analysis, code reversing, and behavioral analysis. The findings indicate that the malware possesses the capability to read and send SMS messages, intercept notifications from other applications, execute remote commands via SMS, and transmit collected data to an external server through the Telegram Bot API. Furthermore, the malware employs camouflage techniques by presenting a seemingly legitimate user interface in order to evade detection. These findings underscore the importance of applying reverse engineering techniques to uncover potential cyber threats and to support the development of mitigation strategies and protective systems for Android users against malware attacks.
