Abstract

This study deals with the teaching of reading skills and its difficulty in the high school Air Bangis in West Pasaman. The research methodology in this study is qualitative field research in analytical type. The problems in the process of teaching reading skills in the government high school Air Bangis in West Pasaman, the teacher lack of interest in the use of teaching aids to achieve the desired goals in the teaching of reading, and do not have exercises to develop the skill of reading for students, but exercises in the textbook. And the lack of interest of the teacher to defend students in the teaching of the Arabic language. In the process of teaching reading skills, the difficulties in terms of pupils, including: teams of intelligence, and lack of tendencies of some students in teaching, and the background of their upbringing. And their difficulties in terms of teachers of the Arabic language, including lack of interest in the use of the various educational method, lack of resources on the teaching of modern Arabic. These comprehensive problems need treatment, it is the teacher's interest in the teaching curriculum, and the teacher to design teaching in the teaching of reading skills in this school.

Abstract

The provision of inheritance between men and women with the current ratio of 2: 1 is considered not to provide an equal share and has not yet reflected the value of justice. This paper intends to study the views of Muhammad Syahrur related to the 2: 1 concept in faraidh science. This research is a qualitative study by presenting data descriptively. The results of this study indicate that the concept of the limit theory offered by Muhammad Syahrur is a proportional division between sons and daughters, where sons get 2 portions as the maximum limit, not more but maybe less. While the daughters get one portion as the minimum limit and therefore, it is still possible to get more but cannot be less. In certain conditions, daughters and sons can get an equal share of the inheritance. The theory offered by Muhammad Syahrur is relevant to the values of social justice, especially if women provide for family expenses. In this condition, women's rights are increased by not exceeding the corridors or limitations of God's law.Ketentuan bagian waris antara laki-laki dan perempuan dengan perbandingan 2:1 untuk masa sekarang dianggap belum memberikan bagian yang setara dan belum mencerminkan nilai keadilan. Tulisan ini bermaksud mengkaji pandangan satu tokoh terkait konsep 2:1 dalam ilmu faraidh, yaitu Muhammad Syahrur. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menyajikan data secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep teori batas yang ditawarkan Muhammad Syahrur  adalah pembagian yang proporsional antara laki-laki dan perempuan, yaitu bahwa  anak laki-laki mendapat bagian dua sebagai batas maksimal, tidak boleh lebih namun boleh kurang. Sementara anak perempuan mendapat bagian satu adalah batas minimal dan karena itu masih mungkin mendapatkan lebih dari satu namun tidak boleh kurang. Teori ini didasarkan pada metode teknik analisis, analisa matematis, teori himpunan, konsep variabel pengikut dan variabel pengubah sehingga 2:1 tidak selamanya relevan dengan kondisi masing-masing ahli waris. Pada kondisi tertentu perempuan dan laki-laki bisa mendapat bagian harta warisan sebanding atau sama banyak. Teori batas yang ditawarkan oleh Muhammad Syahrur relevan dengan nilai-nilai keadilan sosial, jika perempuan menjadi tulang punggung keluarga. Pada kondisi tersebut hak perempuan bertambah dengan tidak melebihi koridor atau batasan-batasan hukum Allah.Kata Kunci: waris; keadilan sosial; teori batas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the philosophy of the Tabot ritual, commemorating the death of Ḥasan in the fields of Karbala, rooted in the traditions of Shia and Sunni, from the perspective of Islamic law. The Tabot ritual embodies noble Islamic values intertwined with local wisdom and cultural acculturation in Bengkulu society. This study employs a field research approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews and documentation with religious leaders, traditional leaders, community figures, and residents in Bengkulu. The findings reveal that the nine stages of the Tabot ritual—Mengambik Tanah, Duduk Penja, Menjara, Meradai, Arak Penja, Arak Serban, Gam, Arak Gedang, and Tabot Tebuang—are imbued with profound philosophical meanings in line with Islamic principles. These include the value of acculturation in Mengambik Tanah, self-purification in Duduk Penja, the spirit of Islamic brotherhood in Menjara, and self-reflection in Tabot Tebuang. From an Islamic legal perspective, the Tabot ritual illustrates a harmonious adaptation of ritual practices while adhering to respect and coexistence within Islamic teachings. The ritual’s symbolic modifications, such as removing elements deemed offensive to the Companions of the Prophet Muḥammad SAW, reflect a commitment to maintaining Islamic unity. Although originating from a Shiite tradition, the Tabot ritual has been contextualized and accepted broadly, including by Sunni communities, showcasing its alignment with Islamic jurisprudential values. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis filosofi Tabot sebagai ritual memperingati wafatnya Ḥasan di padang Karbala yang berakar pada tradisi Syiah dan Sunni dari sudut pandang hukum Islam. Ritual Tabot merupakan perwujudan nilai-nilai luhur Islam yang terjalin dengan kearifan lokal dan akulturasi budaya masyarakat Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian lapangan, yaitu pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi terhadap tokoh agama, tokoh adat, tokoh masyarakat, dan warga di Bengkulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sembilan tahapan ritual Tabot—Mengambik Tanah, Duduk Penja, Menjara, Meradai, Arak Penja, Arak Serban, Gam, Arak Gedang, dan Tabot Tebuang—memiliki makna filosofis yang mendalam dan sejalan dengan prinsip Islam. Di antaranya adalah nilai akulturasi budaya dalam Mengambik Tanah, penyucian diri dalam Duduk Penja, semangat persaudaraan Islam dalam Menjara, dan refleksi diri dalam Tabot Tebuang. Dari sudut pandang hukum Islam, ritual Tabot menggambarkan adaptasi praktik ritual yang harmonis dengan tetap berpegang pada rasa hormat dan hidup berdampingan dalam ajaran Islam. Modifikasi simbolik ritual tersebut, seperti menghilangkan unsur-unsur yang dianggap menyinggung para Sahabat Nabi Muhammad SAW, mencerminkan komitmen untuk menjaga persatuan Islam. Meski berasal dari tradisi Syiah, ritual Tabot telah dikontekstualisasikan dan diterima secara luas, termasuk oleh komunitas Sunni, yang menunjukkan keselarasan dengan nilai-nilai yurisprudensi Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' needs for Kitabah (Arabic writing) teaching materials through the lens of Genre-Based Pedagogy at IAIN Curup, Indonesia. Although Kitabah is a core component of language acquisition, its instruction remains heavily centered on grammar, with limited emphasis on developing coherent and meaningful texts. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were gathered from 88 students and lecturers through a 5-point Likert scale survey, in-depth interviews, and classroom observations. The findings reveal that existing teaching materials lack structured guidance to support the progressive development of writing skills. Approximately 85% of students reported difficulties in writing independently, citing insufficient practice and a lack of constructive feedback from instructors. Moreover, the primary textbook used prioritizes grammatical forms over functional writing skills. This study recommends the development of instructional materials grounded in Genre-Based Pedagogy to enhance students’ ability to produce well-organized and purposeful texts. The findings contribute to Arabic language instruction by offering empirical insights for designing more effective Kitabah teaching resources. Theoretically, the study advances understanding of Genre-Based Pedagogy as applied to Kitabah instruction within the Indonesian context.

Abstract

The teaching of Arabic in Islamic universities faces many problems, including the lack of special educational materials and used by each teacher differently, the existing class is few than he had to perform for four skills, the lack of vocabulary to practice the language skill, and in addition to the lack of enthusiasm in learning Arabic only from the Faculty of Arabic Language Teaching only. The aim of this study is to know the objectives, material, method and evaluation of the book "Arab Economic" on the theory of Ibn Khaldun, and this research of the type of qualitative descriptive study, the researcher observed the Arabic book of economics, and the evidence and its sources of objectives, material, method and evaluation in the Arab book of economics, collected books and documents in the style of analysis of the doctrine of Mehlis and Hubermin. It is concluded that Ibn Khaldun's theory towards the goals, material, method and evaluation in this book Arabic economics is: the goal aspect includes improving thinking, improving society and improving spirituality suitable for improving thinking for the community of the Faculty of Economics with good Arabic language and the Holy Quran. In terms of the subject, it includes conversation, vocabulary, grammar and exercises to understand the language like the queen at the Faculty of Economics. In terms of method, it is appropriate to gradually or repetition, discussion and exemplary in the process of teaching economic Arabic writers. In terms of the calendar, it has exercises, exercises and songs to support the acquisition of the four language skills. The final result of this research is that the Arabic book of economics has helped students at the Faculty of Economics and Business to learn the fun Arabic language and train the four skills according to the practice of objectives, material, method and evaluation according to Ibn Khaldun.

Abstract

This study explores the effect of the Scaffolding Method to improve students' Arabic Essay Writing Competence. This study used an experimental strategy with a one-group pretest–posttest design in order to measure changes in performance within the same cohort. The results show that the students' writing skills have significantly improved from their initial assessment scores (68.50) to their final evaluation scores (85.75), with the latter showing a lower standard deviation, indicating greater consistency in performance. The paired samples test findings show a t-value of -8.358 with p < 0.001, which supports the difference's statistical significance. These discoveries affirm that scaffolding represents a beneficial pedagogical approach for enhancing students' essay writing skills, presenting a tangible resolution for the instruction of Arabic essay composition. Beyond statistical gains, the findings also highlight that the method helps students engage more actively in the learning process, fosters confidence in structuring ideas, and gradually reduces reliance on teacher guidance. Nevertheless, this study is limited by the small number of participants and its focus on a single program of study. Future research is recommended to involve larger and more diverse samples and to explore the effectiveness of scaffolding in various other educational contexts and text genres.

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of I'jaz al-Qur'an and its relationship with Arabic as a form of criticism of the logos concept put forward by Louis Awad. This research is a literature review conducted by collecting related data sources to analyze the character's thought in question. The concept of I'jaz al-Qur'an is a study related to the faith of Muslims, in this case the existence of the al-Qur'an as Kalamullah. Among the Islamic scholars, two views have been very influential since this issue was raised, namely the Asy'ariyah and Mu'tazilah circles. These two groups agree to believe that the Qur'an is Kalamullah. However, in this case, Dr. Louwis expresses this opinion and relates it to the concept of Christian Logos, in which the concept of al-Qur'an, as the eternal Kalamullah (qadim) put forward by two major groups in Islamic Theology, is an adoption of the Christian Logos concept. The misappropriation of the information provided by Dr. Louwis shows his lack of understanding and mastery regarding the issues he addresses in his book. Not supported by historical facts and correct scientific studies, he conveyed in his book a form of hatred against Islam, the Koran and the Arabic language in particular and the Arab nation in general.

Abstract

This paper examined the narrative structure, language style, and chronology of Aşḥāb Al-Kahfi story in Al-Qur'an. The research data were obtained from Al-Qur'ān. The Qur’anic verses which told about Aşḥāb Al-Kahf were collected in Surah Al-Kahf (18) verses 9-26. The results showed that the narrative structure of this story consists of orientation I, sequence of events I, coda I, complication, orientation II, sequence of events II, orientation III, coda II, orientation IV, and resolution. These structures are interrelated and form a logical, holistic, and beautiful story unit that fulfil all elements of Mark Anderson’s and Kathryn Anderson’s narrative-structure concepts. Meanwhile, the dialogue style dominates in the presentation of stories that are in accordance with the journey of the Prophet’s da’wa. The dialogue style used in the presentation of the story is calm and acceptable. This style is intended to defend the call of the prophet's da'wa and refute people’s rejection in the middle Meccan period through the theme of monotheism value and the mention of Allah’s powers. This study contributes to putting the theory of stylistics and narratology in the reading of story verses. Hence, this paper suggests a further study of the story verse covering the narrative structure’s meaning and function as well as aspects of the beauty of pronunciation and story verse meanings.
