<![CDATA[This research aimed at describing the advantages of android use in learning process. This research conducted at the fourth semester of English Department of Education and Teachers Training Faculty of Universitas Lancang Kuning. The sample of this research is 30 % of the total number of the population, they are about 7 students. The method of this research is descriptive analysis. Before getting the data by giving questionnaire to the students during teaching and learning process of Translation Subject by using android, they had got a test of translating an English text into Bahasa Indonesia. Finally, it is found that there are some advantages found. They are android motivated the students, android is easy to use and access, android improve the students’ confidents to involve in the learning process.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aimed at improving the seventh grade students’ vocabulary mastery by using an interactive movie. The method of the research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The actions were implemented in a cycle with five meetings. In conducting the research, the researcher worked collaboratively with the English teacher. The participants of the research were 30 students of class VII.2 of MTsN 2 Pekanbaru. The instruments used for collecting the data were test, observation checklist, field note, and interview. The findings described that the use of interactive movie was able to improve the students’ vocabulary mastery. After learning by using the interactive movie, the students were able to identify the noun, verb, adjective and adverb related to the topic of descriptive text. It was proved by the quantitative data gotten from the students’ average score of the test. It was 81.06. This score improved significantly from the students’ previous average daily score which was 72. There were several factors influenced the improvement: First, the interactive media was motivated. It can be seen from the teaching and learning process, the students were really enthusiastic in joining all the activities. Second, teaching and learning activity was fun. So, the students enjoy and being active while learning.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims at describing the process of community service program implemented by the lecturers of Education and Teachers Training Faculty of Universitas Lancang Kuning using Context, Input, Process, dan Product (CIPP). The method of the research is descriptive analysis with no actions, manipulation or changed the data of independent variables. It truly describes the result of evaluation of the Community Service Program Implemented by the lecturers of Teachers Training Faculty of Universitas Lancang Kuning using Context, Input, Process, dan Product (CIPP). The instrument used for collecting the data is questionnaire. It was given to the lecturers who implemented the program in Academic Year 2017/2018. Based on the data analyzing, it was found that the achievement of Community Service Program Implementation was 80 %, categorized into good. Then, the result of this research is expected can be a reference for deciding and implementing a particular method and procedure relates to quality improvement of Community Service Program Implementation handle by lecturers of Education and Teachers Training Faculty of Universitas Lancang Kuning.]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of this research is to describe about PAUD teachers’ speaking skill in Tampan district. The method of this research was survey design, there was no treatment and data manipulating on that research variable, independent variable, its only describe the result of PAUD teachers’ speaking skill in teaching English in Tampan district Pekanbaru. This research data was collected by using a test, speaking. Scientifically, the result of PAUD teachers’ speaking skill has been known. Their speaking skill in teaching English was low. It was 33.5 on poor level. The result showed that the teachers should improve their skill in teaching English. Besides, this research result is expected to be as one of references in deciding the method, media, or resources to be applied in teaching English for early childhood students. In conclusion, PAUD teachers in Tampan district seldom use or practice their English whether with their colleague or students.]]>

<![CDATA[Kemampuan bahasa Inggris anak-anak sekolah Dasar di RT03/RW01 kelurahan Tuahmadani kecamatan Tampan Pekanbaru rendah. Ini dapat dilihat dari proses interaksi sehari-hari antara peneliti dan mereka. Selanjutnya, ini juga dapat dilihat dari nilai quiz yang diberikan pada saat kegiatan pendahuluan, nilai mereka rata-rata 55. Rendahnya penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris mereka disebabkan oleh dua faktor. Sebagian mereka ada yang belum belajar bahasa Inggris dan separohnya tidak suka belajar bahasa Inggris. Untuk mengatasi dua faktor tersebut, peneliti memberikan pengabdian pengajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis Natural Approach dalam beberapa pertemuan. Peneliti memilih tema ini karna ada beberapa konsep yang dapat diterapkan dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris dengan konsep Natural Approach. Pertama, Natural Approach yang telah di terapkan tidak terikat dengan ruang dan waktu. Guru dapat mengajar murid di dalam ruangan atau di luar ruangan. Kedua, guru menjadi model dalam proses pengajaran. Terakhir, pengajaran dapat dilakukan dengan learning by doing. Sebagai hasilnya, penguasaan kota kata bahasa Inggris anak mengalami peningkatan. Kesimpulannya, anak-anak senang belajar bahasa Inggris dengan konsep Natural Approach yg didukung oleh media yang sederhana.Kata-kata Kunci: Pengajaran, bahasa Inggris, Natural Approach]]>

<![CDATA[Berdasarkan hasil quiz harian pada matakuliah speaking, peneliti menemukan kemampuan mereka berada di level poor. Sebagai solusi dari masalah tersebut, peneliti telah menggunakan BIP Video Call untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Speaking sertatelah menemukan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perubahan pada kemampuan speaking mereka. Penelitian ini telah menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) sebanyak satu siklus dengan jumlah pertemuan sebanyak empat kali termasuk tes. Penelitian ini memiliki beberapa prosedur; Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. Penelitian ini tidak memiliki teknik sampling, tapi meamakai istilah partisipan. Mahasiswa yang telah menjadi partisipan dari penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Semester II Pendidikan bahasa Inggris FKIP UNILAK yang diajar pada matakuliah Speaking, khususnya Speaking for Everyday Communication. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian campuran antara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen wawancara. Sedangkan data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui intrumen tes, yaitu tes kemampuan speaking. Hasil yang telah diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata speaking mereka dari angka 52 menjadi 53.2. masih kategori poor. Ada dua faktor yang memengaruhi terjadinya perubahan nilai rata-rata tersebut; pertama kualitas suara yang dihasilkan oleh BIP Video Call lebih jelas dan kedua videonya menghasilkan visualisasi yang lebih jernih. Kesimpulannya, BIP Video Call dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam memperlancar proses komunikasi mereka dalam mata kuliah speaking.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was aimed at improving writing skill in narrative texts by using storybird for Grade X Teknik Komputer Jaringan 1 students of SMK Yayasan Pendidikan Persada Indah (YPPI) Tualang, Kabupaten Siak in the academic year of 2017/2018. This particular research was categorized as action research. The actions were implemented in two cycles based on the class schedule. The researcher worked collaboratively with the English teacher, as the collaborator and the students. The subjects of the research were 20 students of class X Teknik Komputer Jaringan 1 of SMK Yayasan Pendidikan Persada Indah (YPPI) Tualang, Kabupaten Siak in the academic year of 2017/2018. The data of the study were taken by using test, observation checklist, field note, and interview. The research findings showed that the use of storybird in teaching writing narrative texts was able to improve the students’ writing skills. It included their abilities in generating ideas, vocabularies, language use and mechanics. Based on the quantitative data, the students’ based score was 71.70 and increased into 72.30 in the test of Cycle I and became 85.30 in the test of Cycle II. Then, the gain score was 13 points. There were several factors that influence the improvement, such as the students’ interest with social media like storybird. They enjoyed writing narrative text in storybird and being more creative. Besides, teaching writing narrative texts using storybird could attract students’ attention and motivation. The students became more enthusiastic in writing after using storybird in the class It indicated that the students made a considerable improvement in writing narrative texts.]]>

Finally, it is found that there are three factors influence the students learning outcome in translation subject by using android. They are motivated media, learning atmosphere, and easy access.]]>
