This research aimed at describing the advantages of android use in learning process. This research conducted at the fourth semester of English Department of Education and Teachers Training Faculty of Universitas Lancang Kuning. The sample of this research is 30 % of the total number of the population, they are about 7 students. The method of this research is descriptive analysis. Before getting the data by giving questionnaire to the students during teaching and learning process of Translation Subject by using android, they had got a test of translating an English text into Bahasa Indonesia. Finally, it is found that there are some advantages found. They are android motivated the students, android is easy to use and access, android improve the students’ confidents to involve in the learning process.

This study aims to provide a more interesting video-shaped learning media to teach listening courses at FKIP University of Lancang Kuning to improve students' ability in understanding the information. This research was conducted in FKIP Unilak in the odd semester of the 2016/2017 academic year. The research method used classroom action research to find out how far the learning media can improve students’ ability and the factors that influence student listening ability. Then, technique of collecting data used interview, observation, and test. Based on the result of test instrument that there was improvement in students’ listening skill after applying video as learning media. It showed from the test result that first stage was obtained the lowest score, that was 58, the highest 76, the average 76. While students’ score in the second stage is the lowest 76 and the highest 80, while the average value of 86. This indicated that the student listening ability increases after applying video as learning media. Furthermore, the interview and observation result deal with the second research question that factors affecting listening ability are influenced by the media. The second factor is the strategy and learning materials used by the lecturers in delivering teaching materials in listening learning also greatly affected the students’ ability.

This study aims to determine the lexical and grammatical cohesion of abstracts of STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau students. The method used is a qualitative case study. The results showed that students made ungrammatical sentences, wrong prepositions, spelling errors, and improper cohesive devices. In conclusion, lexical and grammatical cohesion is used in the abstract. The repetition of words in lexical cohesion keeps the reader on track, while grammatical cohesion is used to describe available references, conjunctions, substitutions to make a good abstract. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini didasari dengan adanya permasalahan dan kebutuhan guru-guru SMKN 1 Kandis dalam hal model pembelajaran berbasis Information and Communication of Technology (ICT). Para guru di sekolah mitra memiliki pengetahuan yang minim terhadap model pembelajaran berbasis ICT. Seiring dengan hal tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan selama kurang lebih 6 bulan, mulai dari melakukan tahap analisis situasi, melakukan kegiatan sosialisasi, hingga pembuatan luaran kegiatan pengabdian. Kegiatan analisis situasi berupa observasi lapangan dan wawancara kepada guru, kemudian kegiatan sosialisasi meliputi tahap pengenalan awal berupa pemaparan materi tentang model pembelajaran berbasis Microsoft Teams dan disertai dengan diskusi dan tanya jawab kepada peserta kegiatan. Berdasarkan dari respon angket menggambarkan bahwa kegiatan sangat bermanfaat bagi peserta. Hal itu tergambar dari peningkatan persentase pengetahuan guru setelah mengikuti kegiatan. Sebelum pelatihan diperoleh gambaran pengetahuan guru secara umum berada pada kategori cukup baik dengan rata-rata 54.25. Sedangkan setelah dilaksanakan pelatihan, secara umum berada pada kategori baik dengan rata- rata 78.5. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa pemahaman guru mengenai pelatihan penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis Microsoft Teams di SMKN 1 Kandis meningkat dari 54.25% menjadi 78.5%. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pelatihan penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis Microsoft Teams bermanfaat bagi guru SMKN 1 Kandis.

Periode kritis bagi adalah anak Periode emas yang mana perkembangan yang didapatkan pada tahap ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan pada periode berikutnya hingga masa dewasanya. Mengingat betapa pentingnya perkembangan anak usia dini ini, maka perlu diberikan stimulus yang tepat. Namun kenyataannya di lapangan pemahaman para pendidik anak usia dini terhadap anak masih rendah. Banyak pendidik yang sudah terpola dengan pembelajaran tradisional dan monoton. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) memerlukan inovasi pembelajaran agar menyenangkan bagi anak, salah satunya dengan menggunakan media loose parts. Hasil dari pelatihan penerapan loose part bahwa 67% peserta atau sekitar 10 orang paham dalam mengikuti atau memahami metode loose part, sedangkan terdiri dari 20% peserta atau sekitar 3 orang hanya memiliki tingkat pemahaman sedikit paham dan yang terakhir terdapat 13% atau 2 peserta tidak paham dalam mengikuti pelatihan ini.

Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing bagi pemelajar Indonesia, meskipun bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing, mahasiswa bahasa Inggris harus memahami semua mata pelajaran yang diberikan dalam program studi mereka. Ibaratnya TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) merupakan mata kuliah wajib yang harus diperoleh mahasiswa semester 6 di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Uniersitas Lancang Kuning (UNILAK) sebelum mahasiswa calon guru praktik mengajar di sekolah pada semester 7. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan siswa dalam mengajar di mata kuliah TEFL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kemampuan siswa dalam keterampilan mengajar dikategorikan baik pada pra pembelajaran yaitu sebesar 29% dapat dikategorikan baik. Pra pembelajaran meliputi cara membuka kelas dengan baik, memberikan salam, memeriksa kehadiran siswa dan memberikan pemanasan. Sedangkan kategori sedang yaitu pada keterampilan menutup yaitu sekitar 23%. Keterampilan penutup meliputi, kemampuan siswa bahasa Inggris dalam menyimpulkan materi, memberikan umpan balik. Sedangkan untuk kegiatan inti sebesar 24% meliputi kemampuan siswa dalam menjelaskan materi, mengelola kegiatan kelas, dan memberikan minat siswa. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam keterampilan mengajar dikategorikan baik di semua komponen, siswa bahasa Inggris mampu memahami aktivitas- aktivitas di dalam keterampilan mengajar.

Based on the result of observation that students got some difficulties to understand the content of reading comprehension, particularly main ideas, detail information, vocabulary, identify information, word reference and generic structure. The purpose of this research was to find whether the students who received in class experiment of repeated reading strategy had different skill in reading comprehension than students who did not receive treatment of the strategy at the second grade of SMPN 36 Pekanbaru. The design of this research was Experimental Research. This research was conducted on Jan 2018. The population of this research was the second grade of SMPN 36 Pekanbaru. The sample of this research were 2 classes as control and experiment class. Based on the test result, it was found that the average score of post-test was 85.33 and pre test was 71. It means that the result of post test was getting higher than pretest. In conclusion, the use of repeated reading strategy could increase students reading comprehension in narrative text. There was different ability between experment and control class.
