Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of social prejudice, local wisdom, social piety, religious identity, and communication behaviour on religious tolerance in Sidoarjo Regency. It focuses on the mediating role of communication behaviour in strengthening or weakening the impact of these variables on religious tolerance. A quantitative research approach was adopted, using a structured questionnaire to collect data from respondents in the Sidoarjo Regency. The data was analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to test the relationships between the variables and the mediating role of communication behaviour. The results show that communication behaviour plays a crucial role in mediating the influence of social prejudice, local wisdom, social piety, and religious identity on religious tolerance. While social prejudice, local wisdom, and religious identity do not have direct significant effects on tolerance, their impact is enhanced through effective communication. Communication behaviour, characterised by openness, empathy, and support, positively influences religious tolerance, whereas ineffective communication diminishes the positive effects of other variables. The findings suggest that strategies to improve religious tolerance should prioritise communication behaviour. Policymakers, educators, and community leaders are encouraged to implement programmes that foster open dialogue, empathy, and respect among diverse religious groups to strengthen social harmony. This study provides new insights into the role of communication behaviour as a mediating variable in the relationship between social factors and religious tolerance, offering practical implications for enhancing tolerance in multicultural societies.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the SinergiSmart–Info Harga Application in controlling price fluctuations of essential goods in Mojokerto Regency. The research focuses on four indicators of program effectiveness as proposed by Budiani, namely target accuracy, socialization, objectives, and program monitoring. Method: The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation at the Department of Industry and Trade of Mojokerto Regency. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results:  The research results indicate that the SinergiSmart–Info Harga application is quite effective in terms of target accuracy and program monitoring indicators. The application successfully reaches a wide range of users, including consumers, MSME actors, and policymakers, and serves as an early detection tool for price fluctuations that facilitates government interventions, such as market operations. However, its effectiveness in the areas of program dissemination and goal achievement remains suboptimal. The lack of formal dissemination efforts has resulted in a relatively low number of users, while limitations in features such as price trend graphs and commodity stock availability information restrict the application’s ability to comprehensively support price fluctuation control. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its focus on analyzing the effectiveness of the SinergiSmart–Info Harga digital-based application at the regional level, involving direct perspectives from both government institutions and user communities. This study highlights the application's potential as a digital ecosystem that not only provides real-time price information but also serves as a strategic instrument for local governments in maintaining price stability and public purchasing power.

Abstract

Abstract

This study will examine the role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in the development planning of Medalem Village using Soerjono Soekanto's role theory. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in the development planning of Medalem Village according to the six indicators of Soerjono Soekanto's role theory. The research method is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The results of this study show that the role of the BPD of Medalem Village has not been fully implemented. It is proven from the results obtained that 3 of the 6 indicators of Soekanto's role theory still have problems, namely (1) role conflict in the form of unclear information delivery between the BPD; (2) rights and obligations in the form of BPD supervision are only formalities without in-depth evaluation; and (3) social expectations in the form of the absence of several BPD members without clear explanation.

Abstract

The echo chamber phenomenon on social media is increasingly shaping law enforcement dynamics in Indonesia, particularly in the context of "no viral no justice," the tendency for authorities to respond more quickly to viral cases than to those that do not receive public attention. This study aims to identify relevant topics in the study of echo chambers in law enforcement discourse through a case study of "no viral no justice" using a bibliometric mapping approach. The method used is a descriptive, quantitative approach with bibliometric analysis of Google Scholar publications from 2016 to 2025 using Publish or Perish and VOSviewer. The results show a relatively stable publication trend with a primary focus on digital law issues in Indonesia. Cluster analysis identified three main groups: law and regulation as the dominant cluster, social media behavior and dynamics, and global socio-political issues as a minor cluster. These findings confirm that social media-based law enforcement is influenced by political dynamics, ideology, digital ethics, user psychology, and platform architecture. Echo chambers reinforce group bias, narrow information exposure, and accelerate polarization, thus encouraging hoaxes, hate speech, viral justice, and disinformation. Therefore, an interdisciplinary approach, strengthening digital literacy, responsive public communication, and adaptive and transparent platform governance, is needed.
