Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan promosi perpustakaan kepada pustakawan alumni S1 Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Negeri Malang. Dengan fokus pada manajemen perpustakaan dan pemasaran perpustakaan dalam era digital, pengabdian ini menggunakan metode diseminasi dengan materi mengenai pemasaran perpustakaan berbasis digital, penggunaan platform digital, pembuatan konten kreatif, dan pemanfaatan kecerdasan buatan (AI) dalam pemasaran perpustakaan. Peserta mengimplementasikan materi dengan membuat karya media promosi. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan media sosial dan AI dapat menjadi alternatif efektif dalam upaya pemasaran perpustakaan. Aiming to enhance librarians' competencies in the digital era, this project provides training in library management and marketing. It targets alumni of the Library Science program at the State University of Malang. The training covers digital library marketing concepts, strategies, and the use of social media and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The dissemination method includes operational design, activity execution, output preparation, final report creation, and financial reporting. Participants apply their knowledge by creating or finding promotional media. In conclusion, social media and AI serve as effective marketing tools for librarians.

Abstract

This study investigated the procedures for managing static archives as historical research sources and the challenges encountered in the management process at the the Archives Depot of the East Java Provincial Library and Archives Service, Indonesia. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The study applied static archive management theories, encompassing record selection, accessioning, arrangement, description, conservation, preservation, storage, and reference functions. The findings revealed that static archive management involves interconnected processes, including selecting records, accessioning, arranging, describing, preserving, and utilizing archives for historical research. Despite the structured procedures, internal challenges such as limited archivist competence, insufficient technical and operational support, and inadequate budgets, facilities, and infrastructure hinder optimal management. External challenges stem from the low public awareness of the importance of preserving static archives. It underscores the universal importance of effective static archive management in preserving historical records for future generations. It highlights common challenges faced by archival institutions, particularly in resource-constrained environments, and offers insights that can inform best practices globally.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengelolaan arsip statis elektronik melalui Sistem Informasi Kearsipan Nasional (SIKN) serta kendalanya di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan (Dinperpusip) Kota Blitar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitiannya deskriptif. Data diperoleh dari wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang dilakukan peneliti menggunakan tahapan pengelolaan arsip dari teori pengelolaan arsip statis menurut Saransi (2014) yang dilengkapi dengan teori pengelolaan arsip elektronik menurut Read & Giin (2011) yang terdiri dari penyelamatan dan penciptaan arsip statis; pengolahan dan disposisi arsip statis; penyimpanan arsip statis; pemeliharaan dan pelestarian arsip statis; serta pelayanan, distribusi dan penggunaan arsip statis. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan analisis datanya menggunakan analisis data Milles & Huberman (1992). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan arsip statis elektronik melalui SIKN sudah diterapkan di Dinperpusip Kota Blitar. Namun, dalam pengelolaannya terdapat beberapa kendala seperti server yang sering mengalami maintenance dan downtime; keterbatasan SDM; jaringan internet yang lambat atau tidak stabil; dan keterbatasan khasanah arsip statis. Berdasarkan kendala tersebut peneliti menyarankan untuk peningkatan komunikasi dan koordinasi terkait server, penambahan SDM, upgrade koneksi internet dan jaringan lokal, serta kerjasama dengan berbagai pihak untuk memperkaya koleksi arsip dan meningkatkan pengelolaan arsip di Dinperpusip Kota Blitar. This study aims to describe the management of electronic static archives through the National Archival Information System (SIKN) and its obstacles at the Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan (Dinperpusip) Blitar City. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive type of research. Data were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation conducted by researchers using the stages of archive management from the theory of static archive management according to Saransi (2014) which is complemented by the theory of electronic archive management according to Read & Giin (2011) which consists of saving and creating static archives; processing and disposition of static archives; storage of static archives; maintenance and preservation of static archives; and service, distribution and use of static archives. Sampling using purposive sampling with data analysis using Milles & Huberman data analysis (1992). The results showed that electronic static archive management through SIKN has been implemented at Dinperpusip Blitar City. However, in its management there are several obstacles such as servers that often experience maintenance and downtime; limited human resources; slow or unstable internet networks; and limited static archive treasures. Based on these obstacles, researchers suggest increasing communication and coordination related to servers, adding human resources, upgrading internet connections and local networks, and collaborating with various parties to enrich archive collections and improve archive management at the Dinperpusip Blitar City.

Abstract

Introduction. The focus of this research is to determine the comparison in the analysis of information literacy skills based on the empowering eight model, as an effort in information seeking to complete paper assignments. According to the author's belief, members of the student librarian association surely have a different frequency of library visits compared to non-member students because their tasks and functions are indirectly related to the library. Data Collection Methods. The research that will be conducted will use a quantitative method, with a descriptive mono-variable approach. Data Analysis. The primary data source is the main sample of the research obtained from the questionnaire. Secondary data acquisition involves the use of supporting literature and previous research. The sampling technique used in this study is quota sampling. The data analysis procedures involve validity testing (Pearson correlation), reliability testing (Cronbach's alpha), and descriptive statistical analysis. Results and Discussion. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference between the skill outcomes of students who are members of the DLC and those who are not. The main deficiency for both groups of students, whether DLC members or non-members, lies in determining the topic for paper composition. The weakness lies in the application of the empowering eight information literacy model to determine the topic. The strength of both groups of students lies in their ability to select information. Conclusion. There is a need to improve information literacy skills, particularly in identifying information for the purpose of determining paper topics. Libraries can provide training and workshops on information literacy to address this issue.
