Abstract

Scientific publications in journals of international repute act as a medium for self-actualization academics in the development of science internationally. Higher education institutions that have the quality of education, science, and technology are good tend to have a high number of international publications. To produce scientific publications of high quality must be supported by research and a source of reference quality. In an effort to improve the scientific publication of national repute academic environment. Malang State University. providing electronic information resources in the form of an electronic journal that comes from a variety of electronic information resources, in the hope utilized by students in an effort to increase scientific publication of international repute. The effort is also supported by a set of rules that requires that academic graduate students have a scientific publication of international repute as a graduation requirement

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of library science students to organize information through apprenticeship activities in the Agricultural Extension School Library (STPP) Malang. The understanding of library science students about the process of organization of information in the library theoretically has been obtained in the lecture bench, but the understanding needs to be applied / practiced in the field by doing apprenticeship activities in the library, whether they can and can do quickly, precisely and correctly in terms of organizing information.               This research is a class action research (action research) which is included in the type of qualitative research, the research sample of S1 Library Science study program students doing internships in the Agricultural Extension College Library totaling 5 people using purposive sampling techniques. data collection techniques, namely observation and data recording. Observations carried out to observe the activities of organizing information activities. Recording techniques are used to anticipate the possibility of missing data needed from the results of observations               The results of the study in cycle 1 score 66 by observer 1 and 67 by observer 2 are in the C value range completeness / retention of organizing information in the student internship process is not complete / students do not fully understand information organizing activities. Cycle 2, the average score obtained by the researcher / observer 1 is 80 with number A. Score 79 by observer 2 with the letter B. This means that in cycle 2 students' understanding of organizing information is said to be complete / understanding of the information organizing action               The results obtained from the research are expected to make a benchmark of whether library science students are able to translate theories obtained in college into apprenticeship activities in the library quickly, accurately, and correctly.

Abstract

Berdasarkan data Kementrian pendidikan dan kebudayaan, sebanyak 34.19 persen sekolah di Indonesia dari 34 provinsi, belum memiliki perpustakaan. Padahal sesuai amanat UU No 43 Tahun 2007 hendaknya lembaga pendidikan termasuk sekolah ditunjang dengan perpustakaan. Perpustakaan tentu harus mengiringi perkembangan jaman dan mampu untuk memberikan layanan berbasis teknologi. Berdasar hal tersebut dan fakta bahwa tidak semua perpustakaan sekolah berjalan sesuai standar perpustakaan apalagi memanfaatkan otomasi perpustakaan. Maka pengabdian dalam bentuk pelatihan ini menjadi solusi dari gambaran permasalahan diatas. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini ialah ceramah, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Diikuti oleh 34 peserta dari pengelola perpustakaan Se Malang Raya yang terdiri dari Sekolah Swasta, Sekolah Negeri, Pondok Pesantren. Saat pelatihan aplikasi otomasi perpustakaan 100% terinstall pada laptop peserta dan dapat digunakan. Sehingga pengelolaan perpustakaan yang manual sudah terbantukan dengan otomasi perpustakaan dan meninggalkan proses manual/paperbased service ke arah perpustakaan digital. Kendala yang dihadapi peserta ketika monitoring dan evaluasi ialah dukungan teknis penyediaan hardware yang belum dipenuhi oleh pihak sekolah. Saran dan tindak lanjut dari kegiatan ini ialah ditingkatkannya pada tahap lebih lanjut yaitu inovasi layanan dan akreditasi perpustakaan.Kata kunci: otomasi perpustakaan; perpustakaan digital; perpustakaan sekolahImplementation of School Library Automation in Malang RayaABSTRACT  Based on data from the Ministry of education and culture, as many as 34.19 percents of schools in Indonesia from 34 provinces, do not yet have a library. Yet according to the mandate of Law No. 43 of 2007 educational institutions including schools should be supported by libraries. Libraries certainly have to accompany the development of the era and be able to provide technology-based services. Based on this and the fact that not all school libraries run according to library standards let alone utilize library automation. Then this service in the form of training is the solution to the picture above problems. The methods used in this service are lectures, training and mentoring. Participated in 34 participants from the library manager of Se Malang Raya consisting of Private Schools, Public Schools, Islamic Boarding Schools. During training, the library automation application is 100% installed on the participant's laptop and can be used. So that manual library management is helped by library automation and leaves the manual / paper-based service process in the direction of digital libraries. The obstacle faced by participants when monitoring and evaluation is technical support for providing the hardware that has not been met by the school. Suggestions and follow-up from this activity are to be improved at a further stage, namely service innovation and library accreditation.Keywords: library automation; digital library; school library

Abstract

Di era millennial seperti saat ini penggunaan media digital semakin massive, kalangan pelajar dan guru merupakan pengguna aktif. Penelitian mengenai kompetensi literasi digital dilingkungan sekolah masih tergolong sedikit. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah para guru dan pelajar dilingkungan sekolah kabupaten Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Temuan yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah pentingnya program pembelajaran kompetensi literasi digital dikalangan guru dan pelajar yang memberikan dampak positif bagi pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam menggunakan media digital khususnya untuk media pendidikan. Program ini memberikan kontribusi yang baik bagi guru dan pelajar. Pada proses pelatihan para peserta belum semuanya memilki keterampilan literasi digital, sehingga beberapa guru dan pelajar ada yang belum paham cara efektif dalam memanfaatkan media informasi digital. Oleh karena itu pembelajaran literasi digital perlu diterapkan karena merupakan solusi praktis untuk membangun kompetensi literasi digital bagi guru dan pelajar, agar terbentuk SDM yang memiliki karakter dalam memajukan pendidikan di Indonesia.Kata Kunci: kompetensi, literasi digital, sekolah

Abstract

This study sought to find the contribution of the journal published by the State University of  Malang (SUM) as a scientific communication media to enhance the use of primary literature among graduate and undergraduate students of SUM. Theory used to describe the mechanism of the correlational concept was model use and gratification theory which emphasizes on how the journal published by SUM meets both personal and social needs in achieving certain goals. This study used descriptive method. Data was gathered through observations, interviews, and questionnaires carried out to 30 patrons who used serial and selected information services in SUM library. The patrons consisted of 18 undergraduate students and 12 graduate students. Results showed that in general the journal has contributed to meet the needs of the patrons in primary literature. It was also discovered that the SUM journal has not been published regularly.

Abstract

The magazine management model is a new product in managing scientific magazines that can be applied in all Madrasah Aliyah in Indonesia with manual based and will be developed again based on automation. This study begins with a preliminary study through a survey which shows that the scholarly magazines that were subscribed or derived from the prizes at the Madrasah and Aliyah libraries have not been processed with standards. The research design used is a development method that aims to make an effective product and not test a theory. In the first phase, exploration of scientific magazine management data will be conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Library in Malang and the drafting of guidelines for the model of scientific magazine management model which will produce the draft model of scientific magazine management in Madrasah Aliyah Library Malang Raya The results of research in the first phase of the first year is made a model of scientific magazine management based on information technology that includes: inventory of magazines, catalogs of scientific magazines, magazine scientific index, scientific magazine holding list model the management of science-based scientific magazines by modifying the open source SLIM Akasia software. In the second phase of the second year will be attempted installation of the latest installation of the results of research on libraries Madrasah Aliyah East Java.

Abstract

The emergence of a new paradigm is expected to contribute to overcoming the problem of learning, namely students will increase the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of people who learn. For students to experience changes in learning, a teacher, lecturer, and instructor are seen as needing to develop a constructivist-based learning design. The aim of developing constructivist learning designs through collaborative learning is to produce learning designs in the course management series publications. With this learning design, it is expected. (1) Students actively construct or build their knowledge; (2) Students are free in learning and doing collaborative activities in learning, (3) Provides opportunities for students to use diverse learning resources, (4) Students are encouraged to solve problems in learning. The learning strategy used in the management course for serial publications is collaborative learning. The research method used in the development to produce this design product is the R2D2 model. The results show that the collaborative learning strategy was tested on the subject matter of making a catalog of serial publications which shows that 5 respondent groups declared to be very feasible do not need to be revised in making software programs for serial publications of catalogs; 5 groups of respondents declared eligible do not need to be revised

Abstract

The development of advanced information technology can make it easier for every agency to manage important documents. Archives are one of the important documents that must be managed by archivists, which will later be used as accountability materials. The development of information technology has given rise to various archival systems. Archives that are stored electronically can make it easier for archive users to fulfil their information needs. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques obtained from informants involved in digital archive management activities carried out by DPUPRPKP Malang City. The existence of electronic archives can affect the effectiveness of organisations in carrying out archive management, archive maintenance, and archive shrinkage. The theory used in this research is the record continuum. The record continuum theory is a model of archive management with control through the system from the time the archive is created until the archive can be accessed by the public. The purpose of this research is to describe the digital archive pattern in supporting organisational effectiveness at DPUPRPKP Malang City and describe the obstacles found in the digital archive management pattern in supporting organisational effectiveness at DPUPRPKP Malang City.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan promosi perpustakaan kepada pustakawan alumni S1 Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Negeri Malang. Dengan fokus pada manajemen perpustakaan dan pemasaran perpustakaan dalam era digital, pengabdian ini menggunakan metode diseminasi dengan materi mengenai pemasaran perpustakaan berbasis digital, penggunaan platform digital, pembuatan konten kreatif, dan pemanfaatan kecerdasan buatan (AI) dalam pemasaran perpustakaan. Peserta mengimplementasikan materi dengan membuat karya media promosi. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan media sosial dan AI dapat menjadi alternatif efektif dalam upaya pemasaran perpustakaan. Aiming to enhance librarians' competencies in the digital era, this project provides training in library management and marketing. It targets alumni of the Library Science program at the State University of Malang. The training covers digital library marketing concepts, strategies, and the use of social media and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The dissemination method includes operational design, activity execution, output preparation, final report creation, and financial reporting. Participants apply their knowledge by creating or finding promotional media. In conclusion, social media and AI serve as effective marketing tools for librarians.

Abstract

Purpose Research. The development of libraries during the Islamic Daulah era grew rapidly, and this was inseparable from the role of the leaders of the state who had noble ideals by collecting research results from various philosophers. After the research was collected, they put the results or writings in the library. Therefore, this research aims to determine the role of libraries during the Islamic Daulah era because many works and activities were produced during this medieval era, and libraries developed as a center for study for scientists. Method. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method, which means that it uses the Naturalistic Inquiry method. Data Analysis. The data analysis method used is literature review. The method research action by examining sources related to the theme of this research until the concrete data will be found. Results and Discussions. Research result, 1) During the Umayyah period, it made a breakthrough by developing private libraries, but also developing public libraries, 2) in the Abasiyyah dynasty there were technical activities regarding libraries starting from procurement, processing library materials. 3) The existence of a conflict between the Umayyah dynasty and the Abbasid dynasty was not a problem for these two dynasties. Keywords: Library, library collaboration, Daulah Islam
