Abstract

PT Federal Superior Chain Manufacturing is a motorcycle chains manufacturing company. PT Federal Superior Chain has a problem with the finishing line of drive chain OEM AHM. The finishing work station’s time is imbalance. It makes bottleneck between work station in finishing line. The purpose of this paper is to balance the finishing line of drive chain OEM AHM and reduce bottleneck between workstation in finishing line. The method used is Line balancing Methods and Time Measurement Methods. These improvements increase line efficiency, which was originally only 50.81% to 64.3%. These improvements also reduce cycle time on the finishing line from 4059.27 seconds to 3215.98 seconds. Abstract

 Competition in this globalization era has led manufacturing enterprises improving their production andservices by enhancing the engine utility and accuracy in the production completion to meet the schedule set. PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the automotive industry, especially in the field of stamping parts or four-wheeled vehiclescomponents. The purpose of this study is to minimize the processing time (makespan) of the ISUZU stamping parts production process in the Line B of PT. XYZ. The proposed scheduling method consists of two: Campbell, Dudek, and Smith (CDS) and Nawaz, Enscore and Ham (NEH). CDS Methods combine machines sorted from the smallest to the largest based on the Johnsons rule. NEH heuristic sorted the job in two different sequences (J1-J2 and J2-J1), selected the smallest makespan and carried it on until the n jobs. The two methods applied resulted in different job sequences to be compared with the scheduling applied in the company. NEH method is a method with the best makespan time which is 4,858 minutes. Abstract

ABSTRAKLine H pada PT. XYZ Press Production di perusahaan manufaktur otomotif menggunakan mesin press semi otomatis yang bekerja dua shift per hari. Oleh karena itu, mesin harus dijaga agar ketersediaan dan performanya tetap terjaga, serta kualitas dan kuantitas produksinya. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis departemen perawatan mesin dengan menggunakan Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), dan HIRAC. Dalam penelitian ini RCA digunakan sebagai alat analisis atau metode pemecahan masalah untuk mengidentifikasi akar penyebab dari kesalahan atau masalah. Dari hasil analisis, PT. XYZ menggunakan lembar catatan penghentian jalur sebagai alat untuk mengidentifikasi akar penyebab penghentian jalur yang terjadi di setiap jalur produksi. Lini produksi kritis adalah Line H. Kemudian, ditentukan ketersediaan, kinerja, dan kualitas mulai bulan Agustus 2018 hingga Januari 2019 di Line H untuk mendapatkan OEE. Bulan Oktober 2018 memiliki Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) terendah di antara periode lainnya. Juga, kami menganalisis HIRAC pada PT. XYZ menggunakan WRAS (Work Risk Assessment Sheet). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan harus melakukan pemeliharaan preventif secara konsisten untuk mengurangi penghentian jalur di Line H. Kata kunci: Analisis Akar Penyebab; Efektivitas Peralatan Keseluruhan; HIRAC; perawatan mesin.ABSTRACT Line H at PT. XYZ Press Production in automotive manufacturing company used semi-automated press machines which work for two shift per day. Therefore, the machines should be maintained to keep the availability and performance of the machines, also to keep the quality and quantity of production. The aim of this paper is to analyze the machine maintenance department that are using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and HIRAC. In this research, RCA is used as an analysis tool or method of problem solving, used for identifying the root causes of faults or problems. From the analysis, PT. XYZ used line stop record sheet as the tool for identifying the root causes of line stops that happened in every production lines. The critical production line is Line H. Then, determined the availability, performance and quality start from August 2018 to January 2019 in Line H to get OEE. October 2018 has the lowest OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) among the other period. Also, we analyze HIRAC. PT. XYZ used WRAS (Work Risk Assessment Sheet). The results of data analysis show that the company should do the preventive maintenance consistently to reduce line stops in Line H

Abstract

Turn signal lights or rearview mirror are useful as markers when you want to turn right and left when you are at a corner, a T-junction, or an intersection. By turning on one side of the light, namely the right or left, it gives information to the riders behind and in front that you want to turn. Several factors can cause motorists to forget to turn off the turn signal, such as lack of concentration or the color of the turn signal during the day is less visible. Turn signal lights that stay on can confuse other motorists. Confusion of other drivers can break the concentration of road users and cause traffic accidents. With the aim of researching the causes of turn signal lights that keep on and confuse other people, a questionnaire was distributed to motorists. The research method used is AHP by distributing questionnaires to motorists and the result is the design of a 'Smart Light Spion' for the development of motorcycle accessories.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the top chocolate producers in the world. Indonesia is capable of producing primary and secondary products of processed chocolate. The primary product of processed chocolate is cacao seeds, while the secondary products as nata and raw material for composts. Along with the growth of Indonesia’s chocolate planting area, Indonesia’s production activities need to develop as well to optimize Indonesia’s process production. One of the machines that is used on processing primary product of chocolate is chocolate melting machine. Chocolate melting machine function to regulate chocolate paste temperature, that mixed fat in chocolate optimally. Chocolate melting machine also needs to keep temperature down for chocolate’s fat shrinkage, and to regulate chocolate’s temperature for pouring into mold. Akebonno model: 9818 is a product that able to keeps temperature on chocolate paste to mix fat and chocolate. This product can also keep chocolate’s temperature for chocolate’s fat shrinkage. With reverse engineering applied, this research can describe the function of each component on the machine, and develop a product that will further easier production process.

Abstract

The situation after the COVID-19 pandemic made people need places for entertainment so that the tourism and entertainment sector grew rapidly. With the emergence of work from home, people need a place for entertainment. This development is in line with the quality of cafes and restaurants that need to be improved so that customers can be comfortable and repeat orders. In this process, to maintain customer retention, requests arise to hold live music, background sound, or function rooms for rent. In that case, audio is needed with good quality, easy to store, easy to adjust, move or direct so that its use can be maximized and reduce costs. Audio equipment is synonymous with large size and weight, making it difficult to move and not portable for mobile use. Therefore, a tool is needed to design a mobile audio trolley so that audio is easy to carry and use at competitive prices. With so many 4-6 inch speakers that are sold in large quantities, this is the benchmark for the dimensions of this product. By adjusting based on existing reverse engineering benchmarks known need metrics matrix, it is obtained that Product Functions in the first rank are made as priority needs. The difference after owning this product is that small equipment is safely carried around, speakers are moved easily and also with minimal effort, the speaker body remains smooth, the speaker's moisture is even more durable, it is much easier to carry and you are not afraid of the weather outside because this product is guarded.

Abstract

Modesty Sofa is a company engaged in the furniture industry which produces various types of sofas. In the sofa-making production process, it is divided into two stations, namely the sofa frame manufacturing station and the sofa finishing station. The lack of adequate facilities such as cloth cutting tools which are still done manually on the floor causes a less ergonomic work posture. Based on the results of distributing the NBM questionnaire to 2 employees, it was found that employees felt pain in the neck, back, waist, shoulders, thighs, calves and feet. In the REBA analysis, a score of 5 (medium risk level) was obtained for the squatting work posture and a score of 8 (high risk level) for the kneeling work posture, and in the OWAS analysis, a score of 2 was obtained for the squatting and kneeling work posture. From the conditions described, it is necessary to design storage racks and roll cloth cutting which can improve employee work posture and make it easier for employees to find fabric materials. The results of the REBA assessment on standing work posture of employees after implementing storage rack work tools and cutting cloth rolls only got a score of 3 (low risk), and on the OWAS assessment, got a score of 1, which means the work posture is in a safe position.

Abstract

Company leaders play a key role in controlling the achievement of performance indicators, especially in managing abnormal conditions in the production process. Control visualization is the main tool in supporting KPI (key performance indicator) monitoring and maintaining optimal safety, quality, productivity and delivery conditions. In the context of the manufacturing industry, as faced by the company, the complexity of production line operations is increasing. Abnormal conditions in the production line can result in decreased efficiency, waste and decreased product quality. Company leaders need to identify, analyze and overcome these abnormal conditions, where data visualization becomes a key tool in making timely decisions. Shop floor management is essential in ensuring good control of conditions on the production line. In this context, the benefits of data visualization in improving the control of abnormal conditions in industrial line processes are crucial. The Total Quality Management (TQM) approach is a strong foundation in emphasizing the importance of quality in the entire production process. TQM and shop floor management are closely related in the context of quality management and operational efficiency in the manufacturing environment. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the benefits of data visualization in improving control of abnormal conditions in industrial line processes and integrating TQM and shop floor management concepts to improve quality and operational efficiency

Abstract

In the development of the industrial revolution 4.0, in carrying out production at small, medium, and large levels, there has been a fairly large and significant increase. Factors that influence the goal of successful production are not only about investment, capital, suppliers, machines, skills, and distributors but also one that must be observed is the layout planning and placement of factory facilities. PT. Eworx Indonesia is a company engaged in the processing industry, especially manufacturing in the metal processing sector. PT. Eworx Indonesia intends to relocate the production floor in order to increase production productivity. In this study, the proposed layout design on the new production floor was carried out using the SLP, Blocplan, and FLAP methods. The design is done by collecting direct observation data and interviews with the operator on duty. It was found that the initial layout had problems with operator movement that was not optimal and the placement of several machines and facilities that did not pay attention to material flow resulting in a slowdown in production time. Therefore, in order to get the best layout, a comparison is made on the results of the three alternative layouts with the smallest displacement distance comparison so that the production process will run more optimally. The best proposed layout is the systematic layout planning (SLP) method with the smallest material displacement distance of 147.4 meters and material handling costs Rp. 223,958 per day. Flexsim simulations show this layout can increase production output by 15%-34%.
