Abstract

The problem in this research is that e-learning has not been fully implemented by all lecturers of FT UNP, the low participation of lecturers in uploading lecture material using e-learning at FT UNP, the low participation of students in downloading lecture material using e-learning at FT UNP, there is a gap in take advantage of e-learning between students and other students at FT UNP and there has never been an evaluation of the implementation of e-learning at FT UNP. The purpose of this research is to explain the implementation of e-learning in terms of context, input, process and product components. The results obtained from this study can be concluded that the context, input, process, and results component on the implementation of e-learning in the Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University are in good category. Process and outcome components need to be improved, so that the implementation of e-learning can be carried out optimally. Based on the findings of this study, it can be recommended that the implementation of e-learning can be continued by making improvements to each of its components.

Abstract

An observation shows that civil engineering students’ soft skill is still low. It is characterized by their poor sociability and low positive attitude toward dealing with problems and challenges of life. For students to have various aspects of soft skill, a study was conducted to develop a model of soft-skill teaching that would meet the criteria of validity, effectiveness, and practicality. The research and development referred to Richey Klein approach, which is: (1) developing a model; and (b) validating a model. The validation process was conducted in two phases, namely internal validation and external validation. The internal validation of the model and its components was conducted by experts in educational technology, vocational education, and evaluation. On the other hand, the external validation was conducted in the form of small groups and of large groups which involved 41 students and a member of the Department of Civil Engineering Board. The data analysis was performed in two phases: the developmental phase and the testing phase. The analysis in the development phase was conducted by means of the qualitative approach, while the analysis in the testing stage was conducted by means of the quantitative approach; the two phases should be undergone to analyze the model validation and the trial results. These phases would also be undertaken by the experts. The results of the study show that the model of soft-skill teaching developed for the students of the department of civil engineering had been able to meet the criteria of validity, effectiveness, and practicality.

Abstract

The low percentage of 2017 PPT 3T SMT graduates (41.26%) in the National Examination and there are several study programs that did not pass (0%) causing this program to be evaluated. Based on the existing problems, this program must be comprehensively evaluated using the context, input, process & product (CIPP) model. In addition, capability evaluation is an absolute capability that must be possessed by humans in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. This evaluation study ("primary data" quantitatively and qualitative "secondary data") was carried out in the Department of Civil Engineering (Building Tehcnique Education/PTB), Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University (conducting lecturer interviews), online questionnaire (for PPG SM-3T participants), and SMK N 1 and SMK N 5 in Padang City (interviewing teachers involved in the program). The program has been implemented in accordance with its context and has been in accordance with the inputs specified in the program implementation guidelines. but there are problems in the process of implementing the program (79.51%), which has the lowest value. The reason is that the low value of the evaluation process is the different materials tested with those taught during the program, lack of socialization and communication, and discipline. However, product evaluation states that this program has been carried out as evidenced by the results of the categories of both people who have the competencies needed to become professional teachers (pedagogical, professional, personality, and social competencies) according to the program objectives through lecturers and teachers. So it can be concluded that the PPG SM-3T program is worthy of continuing with improvements in the program implementation process.

Abstract

The research objective is to determine the competencies needed by productive teachers to draw with software so that graduates have the competencies desired by the business world and the industrial world. Descriptive qualitative research methods. The data in this research are descriptive narrative. Data sources from interviews, observations and documentation. The resource persons consisted of planning and supervision consulting firms, lecturers majoring in building engineering education at Padang State University and teachers teaching drawing with software at SMK N1 Padang and at SMK N1 SUMBAR. Data collection techniques with interactive and non-interactive. Data analysis techniques using qualitative techniques. Data validity is done by Source Triangulation. The results of the analysis: The teacher must master the science of drawing, cost estimation, time, quality and K3. The teacher must motivate and explain to graduates drawing with software how the work environment work environment. The teacher must teach good communication ethics and soft skills. The teacher must follow the development of software and also master its use. Teachers must be able to use IT to add references and self-development.

Abstract

Abstract

The ability of modern industrial work must be mastered by vocational engineering students, therefore it is important to develop learning tools that are oriented to the fourth industry. This study assesses the development of mechatronics learning tools that are arranged based on the abilities that must be possessed by students to work in the fourth industrial era using the IDI model. Data was collected from the validity, practicality and effectiveness tests on the programmed subjects in 2019. Learning activities carried out during 16 meetings to produce a smart factory (prototype). Analysis shows that learning tools are developedit is valid, then the response of teaching staff shows the criteria are very practical and based on the response of students also in the category of very practical. The findings, an increase in students' understanding of the value of the end of the semester, but they have to struggle even more to obtain more optimal results. Besides, the learning device also forms the general ability of the learner, the learning communicative, collaborative, innovative, creative, leadership and entrepreneurship that observed during the process of learning to walk
