Dealing with Discovery-Inquiry method, Carin in mentioned that Discovery-Inquiry is a teaching method that give great chances for students to get involved and using their mental process to dig and make the discoveries  for materials that they are studied. This method designs the situation that empowers students to activate their learning experience. Students may study outside of class for observation and getting inspiration, next time that experience can be written in a poem, so unconsciously they have learned how to write and explore a poem. Abstract

This article presents a partial result ola study conducted to look at the implementation of reflective teaching to improve the prospective teachers' teaching skill in teaching EFL. The focus reported here is their selfreflection which unveils their cognition of teaching English. Twelve prospective teachers taking teaching practicum subject at five junior high schools in Padang were involved. They were required to write the results of their reflection after each teaching presentation in their journals. A focus group interview was then conducted to find out the reasons behind their self-evaluation and their view about the interconnectedness between what they had learned about teaching and what they experienced in the field. The results of the analysis of these two sets of data revealed that the prospective teachers' reflection was dominated by their difficulties dealing with classroom management. Thus, they did not really give sufficient attention to othe aspects of teaching of which they had strengths and weaknesses. In ihe interview it was found that they were aware oftheir strengths and weaknesses of other aspects of teaching, but they thought that their instructional plans were profoundly influenced by their classroom management. An essential conclusion to draw is that prospective teachers should be provided with theory, strategies, and tips with regards to classroom management.

Abstract

Considering the long-recognized contribution of reflective practice on teachers’ continuous professional development, this article casts new light in reporting English teachers’ and lecturers’ perceptions on the needs to implement reflective practice through video recording during peer teaching in the Indonesian Teacher Certification Program. This needs analysis is conducted as the preliminary step of the Research and Development (RD) project and the data will be taken as the basis for the development of reflective practice model with video recording in peer teaching. The perceptions of the needs were collected through a closed and open-ended questionnaire distributed to two groups of respondents. The first group consisted of pre- and in-service English teachers who participated in the PPG (Pendidikan Profesi Guru) Program, or Teacher Certification Program, during the course of 2018 and 2019; and are now teaching secondary school students within the provinces of West and North Sumatra, Aceh, Jambi, and Riau. The second group was lecturers at the English Language Education Program (ELEP) of Universitas Negeri Padang teaching at the PPG Program. The findings show that most teachers believed that reflective practice using video recording enabled them to see their teaching strengths and weaknesses and, in return, would be able to improve students’ learning outcomes. Similarly, all lecturers also believed that the needs of reflective practice assisted by digital technologies are highly important. In general, the perceptions of these two groups of respondents demonstrate the crucial needs of implementing reflective practice with video recording during peer teaching in the PPG Program.
