Abstract

Abstract The aims of this study is to describe the preservation of the dance ”Asyek Mandi di Taman” in Desa Mukai Hilir, the district of Siulak Mukai, Kerinci by revealing how the preservation was conducted in an effort to develop the dance based on the quantity aspect of the performer(s)  of this dance and the quality aspect of its costume development. This survey method applied is qualitative research. Data collection involved library research, observation, interviews, and documentation. The techniques applied in analyzing the data were: collecting the data, categorizing, the data and analyzing the data based on the theory suitable for this study. The data was analyzed in accordance with the problems discussed in this study. The final result was the description of the finding in the form of a report.The results of this study reveals that the numbers of the people involved in the tradition of “Asyek Mandi di Taman” have increased. This can be seen from the expansion of the regions chosen for the performance of “Asyek Mandi di Taman”. Initially, there were only three people involved in this performance however it has reached the total of 24 people now from various villages such as Desa Koto Rendah, Desa Siulak Gedang, Desa Siulak Panjang, Desa Dusun Baru, Pasar Senen, Koto Aro, Lubuk Nagodang, and Mukai Mudik. Similarly, the costumes of the dancers of “Asyek Mandi di Taman” have also developed in terms of the styles of the costumes and how the costumes are worn. The efforts to preserve this dance were evident in the following event such as the “Acara Seni of ISI Padang Panjang on April 30, 2016, the dance was performed in the farewell party of the Mts Siulak District on May 28, 2016, and the “Balemang” event in Desa Siulak, the  district of Siulak on June 5, 2016. All the four performances were viewed as successful ones.Key words: Preservation, Asyek Mandi di Taman

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to analyze and describe the structures Sakin Dance in nagari Pitalah Kecamatan Batipuh Kabupaten Tanah Datar. The formulation of the problem What is the Structure Sakin Dance in nagari Pitalah Kecamatan Batipuh Kabupaten Tanah Datar. The research is a qualitative descriptive method of analysis. The object of this study was Sakin dance in Nagari Pitalah Batipuh District of Tanah Datar. Data was collected through literature study, work studio, observations, interviews, and documentation. While the research instrument that researchers themselves and use tools to record and collect data that use tools - stationery, photo camera, Handy-cam, tape recorder or hp. Data analysis was carried out based on the steps-steps proposed by Sugiono, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion.The results showed that the hierarchical relationship management grammatical Sakin dance is composed of several constituent components, ranging from the smallest to largest component. The smallest component unit at the start of the kinetic elements, form a motif, then forming parts and eventually into motion a whole dance. Tata hierarchical relationships contained in Sakin dance consists of 109 overall kinetic and kinetic 25 primary, 29 motif, 6 parts and eventually become the overall dance movement called Sakin dance.Keywords: Structures, Motion, Sakin Dance.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the process and “Selayang Pandang” Dance art learning for blind students at PSBN TUAH SAKATO Padang. This type of research used a qualitative descriptive approach. The types of data in this study were primary data and secondary data. The techniques of data collection were by observing 6 people, interviews with instructors and documentation. The main instrument in this study was the researchers themselves and assisted with supporting instruments such as notebooks and digital cameras / mobile phone cameras. Techniques of data analysis were carried out with the following steps: observing, describing data, and concluding the results of the discussion. The results of the “Selayang Pandang” Dance art learning was well shown by the results of evaluations of 6 children who were 4 of them have achieved good category scores, 1 child reaches a very good category, and only 1 child with enough category. However, the process of learning dance art at PSBN TUAH SAKATO is successful, because even though children with disabilities can dance as normal children.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to explain and describe the motivation of male students in following self-development dance in SMA Negeri 1 Batang Anai. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The object of research is the development of male students themselves dance in class X in the SMA N 1 Shaft Mounds. The main instrument in this study is the researchers themselves and the instruments used such as: logger tool record book, and photo cameras. Engineering data collection done by the library study, observation, interviews, and documentation. Technique of data analysis was performed with data collection measures, the reduction of data, display data and conclusion/verification. The results showed that the cause of the low motivation of male students in learning the art of dance in SMA Negeri 1 Batang Anai was background knowledge of dance, the condition of the environment, and the motivation of teachers or less dance coach effective in self development of the art of dance. As a teacher or coach can motivate must dance, male students so interested in following the activities of the self development of this dance. By way of providing encouragement, care, individual approach to the male students in the form of praise and appear instantly as a model. With the motivation of teachers and the existence of latian exercises then so on male students will be able to perform the dance shamelessly or motivated to learn to dance.Keywords: Motivation, Male Students, Self Development, Dance

Abstract

The article aimed to know and describe the relationship between students’ perception toward the results of the study of art and culture in SMP Negeri 4 Padang. Type of the research was used in this research was quantitative with the correlational method (relationship). Correlational research intended to examine whether there was a relationship between students’ perception toward the results of the study of art and culture in grade IX SMP Negeri 4 Padang or not. The population in this research was all of students in grade IX of SMP Negeri 4 Padang which was 204 of students meanwhile the research sample was 67 of students from the whole grade IX which was taken by using Slovin formula. The instruments were used to obtain data were questionnaires and report of students’ results in the odd semester (1) in 2018/2019. Results of the research showed that there was a relationship between students’ perceptions toward the results of the study. The correlation of test results with the values was obtained for the variable X (students’ perception) and the variable Y (result of the study) was 0.7954 while rtable was rco­unt, so 0.2404 > rtable. Then it can be drawn the conclusion that the relationship is positive and significant and it can be proceeded by using significance test. Significance test is sought by using t test so that the variable results obtained is tco­unt = 10,579 and ttable = 1,996 (tcount > ttable) to X (the student's’ perception) toward Y (the result of study). Then it can be drawn the conclusion that Ha is accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning of Alang Suntiang Pangulu dance in Padang Laweh village, Sungai Pua district, Agam regency. This is a qualitative research with a descriptive analysis method. The object of this research was Alang Suntiang Pangulu dance in Padang Laweh village, Sungai Pua district, Agam regency. The main instrument used was the researcher itself and was assisted by tools such as stationery and cameras to collect data in the field. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted by reducing the data, describing the data, and making conclusion.The results show that Alang Suntiang Pangulu dance describes lessons about things a Pangulu (a leader) uses to maintain his crown or honor. These are found in Alang Suntiang Pangulu dance which gives textual meanings elaborated through motion, floor patterns, music, dancers, make-up, performance, and venues.

Abstract

Research using descriptive methods. The research instrument was the researchers herself and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationeries, photo camera and DSLR camera. The types of data in this study were primary and secondary data. The techniques of data collection were observation, interview, and documentation. In analyzing This article aimed to find out the Role of Pagar Pengantin Dance in the Environment of the Bayung Lincir District. The type of this research was qualitative the data, there were several stages, namely, data reduction and data presentation. The results showed that the Pagar Pengantin dance in the Bayung Lencir district was only performed at weddings. Pagar Pengantin dance performed at weddings had a role as a release of single age. As related to the appearance of, the bride must join in as a dancer and dance with four bride fence dancers. This dance must be pulled in front of the aisle seat because this dance must be witnessed by the groom who aimed to protect the dancing bride. Married brides are no longer permitted to dance except with permission from their husbands because the symbols from the trays used by the bride's stand are likened to houses where married women have restrictions. Pagar Pengantin Dance is a dance that means separation between the bride and her family to form a new family, and this dance also symbolizes the meaning of the union of two different families into one.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the factors that influence students' interest in dance self-development activity in SMP Negeri 9 Payakumbuh. Type of this research was qualitative research. The research instrument was the researcher. It was also assisted by using stationery, recording equipment and camera. Types of data in this study were primary and secondary data. Techniques of data collection were carried out by taking literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The steps in analyzing data were done by doing collection,  reduction,  presentation, drawing conclusions of data. The results show that the factors that influence students' interest in dance self-development activity in SMP Negeri 9 Payakumbuh are found internally and externally. Internal factors are such as the lack of attention of the Students in dance self-development, the students' attitudes tend to be low, the ability of students overally are very good and the students’ motivation are also very good. Meanwhile, external factors include the teacher, infrastructures and the learning method. So it can be concluded that the attention, attitude, ability, motivation of students are very influential in the dance self-developement activity.

Abstract

 This article aims to describe the mixing of cultures in the presentation of Ronggiang art in West Pasaman, especially in the Kanagarian Tujuah Padang Aua Kuniang. The type of this research was qualitative research and used descriptive methods. The main instrument in the research was the researcher himself and was supported by supporting instruments such as stationeries, video camera and audio recorder. Data collection techniques were conducted by means of library research, observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analyzed was carried out by the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results indicated that the mixing of cultures in Ronggiang arts was that Ronggiang's arts could be enjoyed by tribes who had already located and became residents of the West Pasaman or specifically in Kanagarian Aua Kuniang. The three tribes that are currently residents of West Pasaman are derived from three cultures in Ronggiang art. The cultural elements that assimilate in Ronggiang dance are Malay, Minang and Javanese cultures. These cultures are not packaged into one dance project, Ronggiang art in Kanagarian Aua Kuniang. The impact of cultural assimilation in Ronggiang art has caused Ronggiang's art to survive in the lives of the Kanagarian Aua Kuniang community.

Abstract

The Management of Lakon Gerak Minang Art Studio in Baringin Village, Tanah Datar Regency. A Bachelor Thesis. Sendratasik Department. FBS. Universitas Negeri Padang. This research aims to describe and explain the management system of Lakon Gerak Minang Art Studio in Baringin Village, Tanah Datar Regency. This research belongs to a qualitative research using descriptive method. The main instrument in this study was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools and cameras. The data types used in this study were primary and secondary data. The data were collected through literature studies, observations, data analysis, and data collection. The results show that Lakon Gerak Minang art studio has a management consisting of managing, planning programs, and dividing various activities, tasks and responsibilities. Organizational processes are interconnected with each other. If one process is not executed properly, the other processes will not well. Therefore, every process must be done properly so that the studio management system can run well. Thus, it makes Lakon Gerak Minang art studio able to compete with other studios in Tanah Data Regency. The management system run by Lakon Gerak Minang art studio belongs to the line organization (a form of organization where the delegation of authority is directly vertical and entirely given from the leader to the subordinates). The advantage of this line organization is that all decisions can be resolved directly because in a certain situation the leader becomes one of the main targets in solving problems. The weakness of this organization is the problems cannot be resolved quickly due to the fact that the leader is not there. Thus, the management of this organization is to solve problems which exist in the studio.The head of the studio becomes the first person to complete and resolve the problems.
